After a weekend in Boston my girlfriend and I were exhausted. We strolled into this place to get some grub in our stomachs and take a load off. Remember, it is on the 2nd floor. That’s not a problem just take note of it when going there. We weren’t sure if it was open or not so we had to walk up to check it out. The place is split into a bar section and a dining room. The dining room was nice and offered a good deal of sunlight considering it’s on a narrow street. The waitress was a pleasant lady and sat us right away. The food was decent and priced fairly. My only qualm is that they need to embrace the Irish pub feel. Their menu was all over the place. I’d much rather had a smaller menu in which the specialized in certain(Irish) dishes.

I was going to give this place 2 stars and then I thought to myself, «Why would I do that?» It does deserve the one star though(as opposed to zero) for the potential that it posesses to one day be at least mediocre if they’re ever under new management and completely revamp their wait staff. It started off ok, the waitress had to «check to see if there were any tables». I’ve never worked in the food industry, but isn’t that something that you should know? We were seated quickly… and then things didn’t necessarily go down hill, they went off a cliff. We didn’t see ANY waitress again for about 10 minutes. The table next to us had been sitting there with empty drinks since before we even came in. She finally came to see what they wanted next, and didn’t even glance at us. I finally make eye contact with the first waitress I can, she walks over to us, stands there and doesn’t say a word. Hi? Hello? I’m doing well, thanks for asking. Sure, I’d love to have something to drink. Yea, not a word, but I gave her my drink order anyways. After another 10 minutes, our original waitress finally brought us our drinks and we ordered our food. That was the last time we would ever see our waitress. A little over 30 minutes later, my turkey sandwich comes out. With my mind completely blown, I learn that my sandwich is a failure. HOW do you eff up a TURKEYSANDWICH??? The description sounded wonderful, with cranberry sauce and this fancy blended mayo. There was one glob of cranberry sauce and the very end of the sandwich and no mayo at all. My boyfriend got some type of chicken sandwich. It came with all the components, it just happened to taste like cardboard. This is a great space actually, but they need to wipe out their staff and start from scratch. Or maybe new management would be the fix. Either way, there are tons of places like that in the area, SKIPTHISPLACE

Came here on ST. Patty’s day… since my friend FORGOT his ID we sat at the restaurant part and my other friend and i just drank there. while he had something else. It was actually confusing, cause I didn’t know why we were waiting since it’s empty? All the people just kept chilling around. Everyone was wearing green, even the customers so THAT made it MORE confusing as to who works there. I guess they needed time to put table cloth down and set up the plates? They have a limited bev menu, and i asked for a grateful dead, and the server was nice to go check to see if they can make it. They said yes, so I got that. UMMM. It was pink? I swear, it’s suppose to be purple! And it came in a small plastic cup. This isn’t a club. so why is my drink so small?! AND it was $ 10. WTF. same goes for my Paddy’s Passion, which I didn’t like. Overpriced for a horrible presentation. My friend got the blue moon beer? A plastic cup is $ 5 each. Sparkling water was about $ 4. And the fries were $ 4 as well. Nothing special. I don’t know if I wanna come back… expensive for shitty drinks. My friend said to try the food, so maybe if i do come back it’s to try the food. Server was cool… need to check up more often. You should avoid the bathroom. SOCRAMPED!!! I could barely move.

Ran into here last weekend for brunch. It’s pretty average — lobster sliders were good but the french toast was meh. I’d pass

Do yourself a favor: stick to drinking, skip the food, and pay no mind to the slow service and musty, dark atmosphere. I made the mistake of visiting for brunch. In fairness, i had a gift certificate, but since it was only $ 10, I still had to shell out more than what the total meal was worth. My date ordered the cream cheese chive omelet. I have no idea why he thought this was a good idea. Not only does it not sound so appealing, but it seems even less-so in a dive bar. But ok, let’s roll with it. Literally, egg mixed with chives, folded into an omelet-shape with a ton of warm, oozy cream cheese in the middle. it was like a egg crêpe filled with fat — runny, lukewarm, white, creamy fat. Don’t misunderstand me: I love cream cheese. I don’t so much love a stick of cream cheese with an egg wrapped around it. My egg dish fared better, as I chose a more traditional omelet with«regular» veggies. It wasn’t stellar, and was pretty drippy, but it was certainly the best of the two. The side potatoes were, as you’d expect, greasy and heavy, and the coffee seemed to have been sitting out awhile, as it was thick, sludgy, and had a nice burnt finish. Overall, the place just felt dark and musty — not quite what I’d envisioned for a nice Sunday morning brunch. It’s my own fault for bargain shopping and eating at a bar during the day.

It was freezing out and my BF and I were starving, as we round the corner we see this cute Irish bar with a decent menu AND they had live music to boot! We walked in a little confused. Men and Women who looked like waitresses just looked at us and kept on walking. Finally we asked if we could take a seat and we were seated. It took about 15 mins to order drinks and have them served. The food easily took 30 mins which was odd because all we ordered was a cup of soup, crab cakes and a burger. I wanted dessert but the menu was just blah(carrot cake, cheesecake… weird for an irish pub?) All in all it took us an hour and a half, we had time to kill so we really didnt mind. Like I said, the service sucks. It takes way to long to get drinks and 30 mins to get served a cup of chowder is stupid. BUT the food was good! and they had some indie guitar player which was nice. I would go back there, but I would make sure I wasnt in a rush to get anywhere!

I’ve eaten at Kennedy’s several times and I’m always satisfied with the food and booze. The prices are reasonable and the place never seems crowded. The menu isn’t filled with anything particularly exciting, but is anyone expecting that at an Irish pub? My most recent visit, last night, was my first bad experience. The service was terrible, and each time the server disappeared from the table, she was gone for 15 minutes or more(we timed her). We were there for nearly two hours for a meal that didn’t even include an appetizer. The place wasn’t busy at all, and our waitress’s disappearing act was unexplained. Fortunately we weren’t in a hurry, but this makes us reconsider going there in the future unless we have plenty of time to spare.

Unimpressive. There was no wait, which is what we were looking for on a Saturday night with a time schedule as we had a concert to catch. Despite being quite hungry, we had a hard time selecting an appetizer because nothing was all that original or exciting. We decided on the baked brie which wasn’t bad, but also wasn’t memorable. The burgers themselves were pretty good. I had the mushroom & swiss and was happy with the way it was cooked and the portion size. The fries were okay too. My dinner companion was far from impressed by the slaw accompanying his burger. The atmosphere wasn’t bad, I’m a fan of the authentic pub feel. There was a private party in a side room and the music was quite loud in the entire restaurant. We didn’t care but others may have. If I were to go back it would probably be for a pint, and only if more popular spots in the area are too busy for my liking.

I like that this place is upstairs, but so much for Boston being ADA-friendly. This place is good to grab a quick drink or lunch, but there is nothing really impressive about the food, especially when coupled with the prices that they charge. They do a partnership with , but it’s only for dinner.

Stopped by here during St. Patrick’s Day… It’s a typical pub, with typical pub food, nothing special at all. They had a great band that day though.

Kennedy’s is upstairs and out of the way and a great place to meet a friend or lover for a long night of stories and drinks. The menu is varied, hearty pub food. I get the nachos, potato skins and Chicken Ceasar Salad regularly. Our servers have been quick and friendly. Really cozy and friendly atmosphere. Kennedy’s agreed to host our story slams and they have done a great great job — 70 People packed into the«Hardwood Room» for a night of stories on the theme scared to death. The beer and wine were fine and I had a very good Chicken Caesar Salad — I eat these everywhere so I am a Chicken Caesar Salad expert. Theirs had an excellent dressing, lots of chicken and shredded Parmesan. They pour a decent pint and when this old lady is sleep deprived and wants to whet her whistle without crashing, she can get them to pour a half pint. Nice. And they make no faces about it(least ways that I saw). All the judges had dinner there and«judged«the food to be delicious + a good value. We are there again on FEB72011 for«love objects» for a slam on the adventures in love. «Doors» open at 6:30PM. Come early to get a seat.

Resorted to this place when Sam Lagrassas next door had a line down the street. Service was insanely slow and they got my order wrong(I chose coleslaw over French fries, oh well, twist my arm into some fried food). I got the steak tip wrap which had carmelized onions, cheese and BBQ sauce. It was pretty tasty, though the steak tips were a little too chewy for a wrap. So the food was ok and the service was not good. The Irish bartender was cool though, I just wish he waited tables.

What an awful experience that was. Out of 5 orders, 4 were fucked up. My eggs florentine had gravy instead of hollandaise. Substitutions were a mess. Service was poor, food was slow to come(the place wasn’t busy at all). Pancakes tasted like soap. The rest was a mess. Kennedy’s Midtown redefines Sunday brunch. As in every other place is better.

On a brisk Saturday in March, my friends and I staggered into Kennedy’s(during a tour of their pubs) and came across this behemoth of a restaurant/bar. We sat upstairs at their big bar and were attended on by two lovely Irish women bartenders. Not Irish from the south side, but Irish from… Ireland. Why is this such a big deal? It isn’t, but since I come from a super Irish family still have many over there and even have dual citizenship, it is also nice to meet other people from the Emerald Isle. Ok enough oggling about the lovely lasses, I am a happily married man. The drinks were flowing and the time I spent here was good… not great. I mean as a bar it was«A-OK», but no jukebox and sharing space with restaurant patrons made for a less than fun feel. I would stop in here again for a drink, but next time I will try one of their amazing looking burgers.

It’s Friday night in a strange town. All I wanted was a good hamburger, and a place to watch some sports/perhaps engage in some conversation with someone I didn’t know. Enter: Kennedy’s Midtown. The burger was solid. The meat was seasoned well and it was cooked as medium as they come, just how I like it! Finally, someone gets it right. I stuck around for a while, hung out, chatted with some Irish lads and the bartenders. Somehow a shot entered the picture. Kindly, the bartender(Jen, I believe) poured mine on the lighter side per my request. A little more chatting, a little more teasing about the Sox(I’m from Oakland, I get to), and then, suddenly, another shot. WTF? Being a lady I couldn’t say no to the gift presented. Great fun for my last night in Boston, even though I had to leave on the earlier side so I could actually get a few hours of sleep before my flight. Really kind, attentive staff… next time I stay in the ‘hood I’ll be there!

No idea this even existed until I was searching for a place to eat before a show at the Opera House. Tucked away on a side street, it’s a big place. It was fairly empty when we went and had the choice of eating in the dining room or the bar. We chose the bar. There are a lot of choices on the menu so you can find something for sure. We started with regular nachos which were really good and cheesy. They came with salsa and sour cream. For dinner we both got salads: mine was the asian chicken salad and my friend had the cobb. I liked the dressing on the salad but didn’t love the chicken as I found one that was really undercooked. Other than that, the food was good and the portions large; too large to finish. It was about $ 12 for the salad. Great server and nice atmosphere. They also have live music and I’m sure it gets busier on the weekends.

My Trip(s) to Kennedy’s Midtown, by Brian D. Last Thursday I ended up at Kennedy’s Midtown, somehow, and it was not the most super-duper thing that has ever happened to me. In a beer fueled haze I walked up a set of carpeted stairs to a bar filled with all shapes and models of ‘alcoholics’ — which as far as I’m concerned is Ok. Why do I say such awful things? Because, it was late and a weeknight and everybody was drunk and frankly, it takes one to know one so… I proceeded to order a drink. A drink. Yes. A drink. I have never left a half finished beer at a bar. But, I did last Thursday. Yup, that’s how great that walk up the stairs was. I will say though, the sketchy men’s room is worth 1 star. How awesome am I? Pretty awesome. I went back to said bar 2 nights later. Same carpeted stairs. Same alcoholics! But this time there was also like a Chinese(could be Korean, all look same I JOKE) little kids birthday party going on in one of the side rooms and the kids were all over the place — which was neat. Weird, but neat. Know what else is neat? I didn’t bother to finish my drink the second time I went back either! OMGLOLROTFLMFAOWTFAYBOADIAF! Second star for this bar having magic gypsy spell on me and making me come back for more drinks that I won’t finish!

Mmm, Guinness and blueberry pancakes for late Sunday breakfast. I was pleasantly surprised by the classy, second-floor dining room; our table overlooked the street, which wasn’t much of a view, but better than staring at the opposite wall of the room. The pancakes were actually some of the best I’ve had. The service was a bit frosty and a tad slow.

After tiring of another bar, yet making a decision to not dash for the last T home, we stumbled upon Kennedy’s. Actually, i’ve walked right by it any number of times on the way to the Hub Pub, but never thought of going in. In a fit of drunken whimsy, though, we did go in, in search of one more pint. And as it turns out, it’s really quite nice; up a set of stairs, there’s a dining room which looks pretty nice, and a large barroom, with comfy seats and a nice, wood bar. We actually had time for a couple rounds(decent selection of beer, good but not great Guinness), and a bonus set of shots for my roommate with the shiny new Ph.D., and in the end, we were the last ones there, and the friendly(though slightly inattentive) Irish-accented bartender gently kicked us out after a fine evening. Then the drunk-dialing began.

Nothing too impressive here. Kennedy’s didn’t suck but it isn’t anything special either. The food was okay. It was basically your standard bar fare. I thought it was just a touch pricy for what it was, but not by much. The crowd that was there was fun. A bunch of people from Ireland singing random Irish ballads mixed with classic American songs like«Down by the Boardwalk.» I had a good time but the place didn’t leave me yearning to come back.
