I’m not exactly a bubble tea connoisseur, but I love Kung Fu’s wide selection and customization options. Dropped a star because the first time I went there, they were out of boba… which, I know, isn’t all what bubble tea is about, but it is what I get it for, so I found that pretty inexcusable.

This has been the second time that I tried stopping by here on my way home and they have not been opened and it was around 11:05am. The hours say they’re supposed to be open at 11am. It looked like no one was in the store either. Another couple behind me also was going to go in, but left. I find it strange that a business isn’t open when it says it is supposed to be and that this has occurred twice.

I have had a lot of bubble tea in my lifetime and I can tell you Kung Fu is the best. So many different options from flavors, to bubble types, to tea types, to hot vs cold drinks, or even frozen bubble teas. The bubbles themselves are so good: very sweet and chewy, a perfect consistency! The flavors are all really good – I’ve tried the coffee, italian macchiato, oreo, green tea, coconut, and a bunch of others.

Peach Oolong Tea. Not too sweet, fruit chunks are great, very refreshing. Original Milk Tea. My goto because I’m just into the basics like that. Can actually taste that there is tea there. Taro Milk Tea. Love it here, at a lot of other places it is really sugary because of the powder they use. Again, here you can actually =taste taro rather than just sugar. Macarons. The dark chocolate ganache in the chocolate macarons is amazing. Basically you can’t go wrong with drinks here. I haven’t gotten anything I didn’t like yet.

I used to be one of the regular that go here for boba almost everyday with me friends. But I stopped btc of the weather. It have bunch of choices so you won’t get bored of it after a short period of time. Although sometime the peals might a little hard but it’s still taste amazing.

I came here when they first opened and got the worst bubble tea I’ve ever had. The bubbles were just. not soft or good. I’m glad I waited a bit and gave them another chance, because they worked it out. The last three times I’ve gotten really consistent, yummy bubble tea.

My favorite place for bubble tea. All the flavors are delicious and definitely can taste the quality of the boba.

I’ve been coming to this location more recently because there isn’t a crazy line like the one on Harvard Ave. and they accept credit cards for under $ 5 so it is certainly a plus. This location is much more of a chill vibe whereas I felt the vibe at the Harvard Ave is more a hangout/place to be spot and the Chinatown location is a more grab and go. This is a nice location of you want a quiet and casual place to chat with your friends. The Oreo milk tea here is consistently delicious with just the right amount of sweetness and the Oreo bits are always fresh never stale or soggy tasting. This location is one of my favorite milk tea places in Boston!

This place. I’ve been 5 or 6 times… I keep going because I just really love boba but I have yet to have a truly positive experience. As a lactose intolerant I have struggled every time to order something that is safe for me to consume, the people behind the counter have never been helpful or communicative despite me asking for help every time(the website isn’t clear either). Once I do order, my drink is rarely correct. Tonight my friend ordered a green tea and was given taro instead. If I weren’t so far from an alternative I would never go here.

Writing this review, I really struggled with the basic idea of what makes a 4 star bubble tea joint versus a 3 star one. When you are dealing with a product that is so prepackaged and consistent from place to place, what is the differentiator? It only took moments of consideration for me to come to the conclusion that for Kung Fu Tea, it is the boba that differentiate them. I doubt that does much for them in the grand scheme of competitive advantage; that is immaterial. Their boba are better than the boba I’ve had pretty much everywhere else in Boston. They are soft, taste of honey, and are fully cooked. For some reason, this basic level of competence is rare. It’s not something that I really care about when I get the less well-prepared boba elsewhere, but I’ll acknowledge superior preparation when I see it. They are also open late, the shop is clean and professional feeling, and it’s in Cleveland Circle(which I sort of arbitrarily like). Kung Fu Tea, you’ve won your fourth star. Drop your prices by a dollar(I know that’s not super reasonable — to anyone reading this, prices here are on par, not steep, just also not a steal), and then we’d be talking about a 5th. But this is solid.

Came here for a refreshing treat after sushi, trusting the name of Kung Fu Tea to deliver the most perfect, chewy, and sweet honey boba. I was surely not disappointed! I ordered the Earl Grey Black Tea with boba(with half sugar), and it was perfect. The sweetness of the boba balanced out the tea so nicely. The interior of the shop was also spacious, more so than the other Kung Fu teas in the area. Location wise, a bit harder to get to since you have to depend on bus(if you have no car), but I would recommend to come here if you are in the area already!

Guys, you should definitely take a shot with read bean wow milk. That one blowed my mind and it was soooooooooooo good. Seriously, it was delicious. Also, the café looked quite clean. So if you are going to Starbucks, go to kung fu tea instead. Same pricing higher quality.

My favorite bubble tea place! The only thing is I’m scared I’ll get diabetes if I go daily(super sweet)…I’m still tempted to go almost daily. This bubble tea can easily replace a froyo habit. I highly recommend the jasmine green milk tea w/bubbles and the honey green bubble tea.

Y’all – when I tell you they have the best iced taro milk tea I’ve ever drank, I’m not lying. And I think it’s great that they give an option of the level of sweetness and ice; that really makes a difference. Basically, this place rules and their taro milk tea is like crack cocaine for your taste buds. Go get some now!

Bubble tea is one of my favorite things in the world, and having grown up in NYC’s Chinatown, I’ve had my fair share of good bubble tea. When I first moved to Boston 3 years ago, good bubble tea was hard to come by, especially since I don’t live in the Allston area. The opening of this Kung Fu Tea at Cleveland Circle was the answer to most of my problems(I didn’t care if I was drinking an iced beverage in the middle of a snow storm). The bubble tea at this location is excellent, consistent with the other stores in this chain! Pros: –The tapioca pearls are a good, chewy consistency, not too soft or too hard. It’s pretty fresh every time I’ve had it so far, so it seems like they have enough business to consistently roll out fresh batches of tapioca. The tapioca is also cooked /stored in syrup, so the tapioca pearls have a bit of sweetness to them(just the way I like it) –Customizable sugar and ice levels –They use Lactaid milk, which is good for those who are lactose intolerant, and delicious for those of us who aren’t(a.k.a. me) –Nice décor, has a bathroom Cons: –The drinks can be too sweet if you don’t adjust the sugar levels. I typically ask for half sugar(also keep in mind that the tapioca pearls are already sweet) –It’s still a new store and I can tell that some of the employees are a bit inexperienced(don’t know enough about specific drinks, etc.), but this will probably improve over time –Why is the smallest size called«medium»?? –Not enough fruity tea flavors –The brown sugar ginger tea is way too spicy, it burns! D: Unsure: –Delivery service on Thursdays! I haven’t tried it yet, but may do so in the future for a large group My recommendations: –Any of the classic Kung Fu Milk Teas –Red Wow Milk(my favorite, especially when I can’t get a red bean ice from a Chinese bakery) –Matcha milk –Grapefruit Tea I have yet to try the yogurt drinks, but they look interesting!

I was so excited when I saw that they were opening a Boba tea place in Cleveland Circle again! I absolutely love Boba but there aren’t any places near me that sell it, so the times that I have it are few and far between(I order it every time it is on the menu though). The first time I went I tried the Oreo Milk Bubble Tea. Oreos are one of my favorite cookies so when I saw this on the menu I was super pumped. It definitely lived up to my expectations, it was super good. A perfectly flavored milk tea with a good helping of Boba and crushed Oreos. The boba is sweetened well. I have found that some places barely soak the boba in sugar or honey if at all but Kung Fu Tea does in brown sugar and my taste buds could tell! I have been numerous times since my first visit. I wanted to try something different than the Oreo since there are so many choices on the menu! The Taro Smoothie was super good! It was sweet, probably a bit too sweet for some people, and I only ended up having half of it. I like that they have coffee options since I’m odd and enjoy Boba in about anything. It sweetens the coffee! The Caramel Macchiato was done well and cheaper than Starbucks. On this day they were out of the boba sweetened by brown sugar, so they used the boba sweetened by honey used in the«Kung Fu Milk Strike» Teas. I actually prefer the boba with honey so definitely ask for it and try it! The coffee milk tea is delicious but tastes almost the same as the original milk tea, just the faint taste of the added shot of espresso. Because of this if you want your caffeine fix I definitely recommend their signature iced coffee or another one of their coffee drinks. This route is cheaper too!

Kung Fu Tea domination continues… I had no idea they opened up a new branch in Cleveland Circle until last Sunday! The place is same as usual. Small, limited seats, but very clean and modern. The only thing that got in the way of me giving 5 stars was the service time was extremely slow. I think the person making it was a noob because it took FOREVER to get my drinks. Taste wise, it’s the same!

This Kung Fu Tea location is small and clean. There are two high chair seats by the winder and two full tables(4 seats at each table). My first visit was on a Sunday afternoon. The service was friendly but slow(which is understandable because there were only 2 employees working). I noticed their sign that they are still hiring full-time and part-time employees. Once they are fully staffed, I think this place has great potential. Glad to see this chain expanding in the Boston area! Solid tapioca balls and milk tea. Although the Harvard Ave KFT location is closer to where I live, this location has more convenient parking than the chaos in Allston.

This place is great for boba! Been here twice and got the coconut milk tea and regular milk tea. On the last visit they were running a special for a free upgrade to a larger size. Will be visiting this location again soon!

Same quality and taste as other Kung fu teas. I love their chewy soft boba! I’m glad they opened a location here because the one in Allston is annoyingly crowded. It’s winter break which explains why it may be empty now but I’m not complaining. Parking may be a pain because it’s limited meter parking here. I ordered 3 drinks and one of them was made wrong so make sure to double check your receipt before leaving.
