Easy to find, easy to park. Comfortable and relaxing building. Awesome LGBT-related flyers for people to take. I saw Ashley Sitkin for a Thai massage. I had never had a thai massage before and I was a little bit nervous, but I don’t think I ever want a different kind of massage again. Ashley is really personable, easy to be with, and welcoming. She wants you to be comfortable, but also pushes you to your limits(within reason, and as long as you aren’t in excruciating pain). I came in to the appointment feeling really tense and kind of sad. After my massage, I left feeling awesome and relaxed. I kind of wanted to stay there and fall sleep. I will definitely be back!

I started seeing Shannon McCarthy because she was specifically recommended to me, by someone whom I later found out rather hates me. This explains the recommendation. To begin with, Shannon was never once on time for an appointment, usually ranging from 5 to 10 minutes late, but once as long as 15. I don’t believe she ever once apologized for the lateness. It was especially offensive because I was coming from Cambridge by T, and I always built in enough travel time to be there on schedule. In addition to the lack of timeliness, Shannon was constantly trying to push me off to other therapists. At first, I bought her explanation that she thought I should have someone closer to Cambridge in case of an emergency. But as time went on and the excuses changed, it became downright insulting and unprofessional, especially since the reason I started seeing her in the first place was that the two people closest to me simultaneously ejected me from their lives. I won’t profess to know her true reasoning, though I rather think it has to do with issues of her own that she needs to sort out. But I do read people well enough to know that when I asked her about it point-blank, she believed at least part of her own response to be untrue. So to sum up: if you are someone I hate, I highly recommend that you begin seeing Shannon immediately.

I had a massage with Sarah Williamson, LMT, who has office space at Meeting Point. The building is extremely hard to find, so I entered the massage room aggravated and sweaty – not the best way to start a session. My biggest frustration – I needed a deep tissue massage as part of rehab. for a shoulder injury. I had confirmed with my physical therapist that I should have hard pressure and she showed me where to expect it. Although I explicitly stated to Sarah, more than once, that I needed more pressure in a certain area, the massage stayed a more standard Swedish kind. It wasn’t what I wanted, and that was frustrating. Her website states that she includes deep tissue in her practice. I think that’s inaccurate. I am annoyed that I paid $ 75 for a lightweight, non-therapeutic massage. I won’t use her again – I need to find a massage therapist who will listen and respond to what my body needs. I don’t think she did that.
