Everything is clean. The Customer service was considerably friendlier and more accommodating than Newbury street location for booking. The service itself is fine, very overpriced but that is part of the miniluxe ‘luxe’ branding. I had a shellac manicure and a regular pedicure done. The pedicure is nothing special, in fact you sit on bench seats as opposed to big massage chairs you will have at a generic nail place.
The service itself would be closer to 3.5 stars, I hesitate to provide four or five because it’s overpriced and the environment is not particularly relaxing.
The reason I provided 2 stars is that my pedicure, which I had done on Saturday, feel off entirely by Tuesday. In my experience a pedicure should last at least two weeks unless you’re doing some increased amount of activity that may prevent that.
The shellac manicure was falling off by Thursday. In my experience a shellac manicure should last longer than five days– especially for the price of $ 55 (before tip).
The services cost $ 85 total before tip and the pedicure and shellac lasted less than one week. Save your money and swing by some generic nail salon on Newbury.

Got my eyebrows done here — was not impressed whatsoever. Didn’t feel welcomed when I walked in, everyone just kind of stared at me. The esthetician (sp?) was sweet
I’m also pretty sure I felt wax actually go on my eyebrows once on each side … so that confused me. Along with the wax, I told her that I had sensitive skin but I walked out of there with bright red eyebrows and burns.
Don’t waste your time or money — there’s better spots for you to go to around Boston

I got the worst gel manicure I have ever had. It lasted less than a week before it started peeling. And I just have a desk job that does not require heavy use of my hands. Other gel manicures last me 3+ weeks. Tried to go back 2 days after to get a nail fixed that was already peeling and they no longer had the color available to fix it. My manicurist did not push back or trim my cuticles like they typically do. All around just a waste of $ 45.

I am updating my review after the customer service I experienced today. I booked my appointment online and it was confirmed for 10:00 however as I am walking into the Prudential Center 15 minutes early, MiniLuxe calls me to tell me that my appointment cannot be honored because they were entering someone into that time from the desk.
If I was able to book online before the person «entering a appointment in from the desk», my appointment time should be upheld, I booked it first. Also, online listed 10:00, 10:15 and 10:30 as available times and suddenly the next available time is not until 11:30am? Instead of inconveniencing the customer MiniLuxe should have done something to accommodate me instead of cancelling my appointed 15 minutes before and providing me with an alternative time over an hour later. I also think their online slated times should not be shared with walk ins. VERY frustrating.

I made an appointment for a gel manicure. I had a great manicurist and the place is super clean. However, upon checkout, the price I was told the day before was not the price. They added $ 10 for «removal» of my current gel. This made my manicure the most expensive I’ve ever had, ever, in all my travels. And frankly, not even close to the best I’ve ever had. I argued the point and was told that «removal» was only included Monday through Wednesday, hence the incorrect quote on price. Seriously. $ 10 extra, over an already pricey manicure cost, for removal? Give me a break. I was a tourist who fell for this once, but it will never happen again. And certainly not if I was a local!

A review for two separate accounts:
For the price of their services, it better be good. My first experience here was for my sister’s birthday two or three years ago. I figured a girl’s night out would be appropriate. We had all booked our services for signature mani and pedis online (easy-​peasy), one of my sisters had forgotten to book beforehand and managed to be fit in after my other sister. We were there for about 2 hours, had two awesome manicurists: Kristi and Trinity (who did both my sisters’ nails) and a humorous and fun conversation. After they were all done, we were most satisfied with the results. Kristi and Trinity were so great that I looked for either of them on my return.
On my second visit about a year later, I had gone in alone for just a manicure, I had another girl this time since both the girls from my first visit were unavailable. The service this time was not very good. At the end of the night, I had already started peeling and chipping, by the second day, I was so irritated with the peeling polish that I had removed everything. Miniluxe has a chip free guarantee, (I believe 3 days?) that allows you to go in for a free manicure. I called them, explained what happened and got in a couple days later. My nails were cleaned off by then, annoying the receptionist who seemingly wanted proof of this. anyway, I got the free service, this time, longer lasting. After that day, I never returned. I suppose I could give a lesser rating, if not for that first great experience.

I’ve had really good experiences with my mani/pedi’s here — particularly with Courtney and Lucy, super sweet and do a great job. My issues are with the front desk staff, my friend and I had appointments booked at the same time, but did not book them together, and they wouldn’t accommodate us and seat us together, it was very strange.
Also when I called to change my manicure from regular to gel I asked if I could still applying the promo they were offering ($ 49 mani/​pedi) they said this was no problem… except when I checked out it was $ 75! They FAILED to mention there would only be a $ 10 discount with the gel, this is simply not acceptable, false advertising and bad communication. I have found the technicians to be wonderful but the front desk staff to be quite rude and snooty.

I saw Teresa for a manicure and she did an awesome job! I will definitely be coming back to her from now on! Also, I was offered tea immediately while I purused the polishes. Very happy about that. I went to the Miniluxe on Newbury last month and wasn’t offered tea and got a sloppy paint job. Prudential is WAY better.
(I will say that I overheard 2 ladies behind the counter complaining about tips in front of customers. As a 25%+ tipper, I don’t need to hear loud complaining about tips. Yes, some people don’t tip correctly or generously and that sucks if you do great work. However, talk about it elsewhere please!)

Karina is awesome. Loved the service and staff. The neck and shoulder massage is great from Katlyn. I highly recommend this place. Very sanitary with a large selection of name brand polishes and colors.

Visited for a brow wax and Gia did an amazing job! My brows haven’t looked this great in YEARS! She is meticulous and really takes her time. Both brows matched perfectly and really framed my face. The appointment took about 15 minutes total. Two girls had appointments before me and they each walked out with great brows, so I knew I was in good hands. Gia was running behind schedule, but still took her time with me and did not rush through.
I am only giving 4 stars because of the front desk staff. While they were very nice and graciously accommodated me with a 2:15pm appointment when I walked in at 2pm, they knew Gia was running behind and should have been honest about the timing. I had to wait 15 minutes after my appointment before I could be seen. One of the receptionists warned me about the additional wait as my appointment time approached and I didn’t mind waiting, but would have appreciated just being given a 2:30 appointment in the first place.

I had my first manicure at MiniLuxe today and I thought it was pretty great.
Pros: Online booking, can add tip to your credit card, everything is SUPER clean, everyone was very nice, I was taken on time and out on time.
Cons: Not a lot of color choices. I booked the gel alternative manicure and my color selection was very minimal. Also, I think the front desk could do with a reminder of customer service. I wasn’t told my total (even though I knew what it should have been based on online booking), was not offered a receipt, and did not have the door opened for me upon arrival (I’m handicapped at the moment and that would have been super helpful).
Overall, a great experience and I can’t wait to come back and see Teresa. Hopefully, they will expand their color selection :)

Worst manicure of my life. I have never seen a nail technician need to use the clean up brush on every nail. her hands were shaking the entire time she was putting on the polish so my nails were a mess. Also, even though I made an appointment, from the time I arrived to the time I left, it was an hour and 45 minutes… for a manicure! I made the appointment during lunch, so needless to say, I was very very late getting back to work.
The only reason I am giving it 2 stars is because when I complained about all the issues, they agreed not to charge me, so customer service is good from that perspective.
Perhaps it depends on your nail tech and I just happened to get a really bad one, but I probably won’t go back to this location.

I’ve been twice, both Rosie and Brittany were terrific. Online booking is incredibly easy, especially for last-​minute. This is a great place, great concept.

I’ve always chosen MiniLuxe for my brazilian waxes (used to go to the one on Newbury), but today was the second time I went to the one in the Pru (for convenience; it’s closer to work).
Brittany saw me & she was great! Friendly, professional, quick & effective :-) TWO thumbs up!

I recently stopped by MiniLuxe at the Pru for a pedicure and lip & brow wax.
I’ve been a regular at 2 other MiniLuxe locations but this was my 1^st time at the Pru location.
I wasn’t expecting the store to have huge glass windows facing into the Pru in the part where nails are worked on. I was given a towel to cover my legs while getting a pedicure but I still felt a bit more on display than I do at other MiniLuxe locations.
I loved my pedicure and the MiniLuxe «Pahk the cah» purple nail polish that was used.
I would not recommend booking back to back appointments like I did.
I had to wait 15 minutes after my lip & brow wax scheduled appointment time to actually be taken. I was sitting at the front of the store, but no one told the waxing associate. (And I suspect she took another customer at my time because she didn’t know I was there.)
This gave me time to use their free wifi to read Unilocal reviews of this location and get very scared by one of the waxing pictures.
The eyebrow wax was great!
Unfortunately, I also had bumps near my lip when I woke up the day after getting the service. It isn’t as bad as the photo in a different review, but I won’t be trying lip waxing here again.
I do recommend manicures & pedicures at MiniLuxe though! They’re pricey but worth it.

I always feel a little awkward as a guy when I get my summer pedicures… but the team in prudential couldnt have been more welcoming. Annie who did my pedicure was polite and checked in all through the process about water temperature… was I experiencing any discomfort, etc. I couldn’t be more happy with the end result… in fact the whole experience… from the front desk, to the clean white lines of the store.

The most overpriced fiasco I’ve ever experienced. The manicure didn’t even last a week, and one of my eyebrows is all sorts of messed up. Needless to say I won’t be back.

To be fair, I enjoyed my mani pedi there and the service was very kind. However, after a facial waxing, the area around my mouth burn really bad for days and looks like I fell on my face.(there are dark red scares and wounds on my chin) I don’t think it’s normal reaction to a wax. Highly recommend Lucy for nails but will never go in for waxing again.
