Yes, Ron is back! Ron has been cutting my hair since I moved to Boston in 2005. I am so happy that Ron is back because he is great at cutting my hair. Plus, its a lot of fun to talk to Ron while you’re getting your hair cut — he’s a great conversationalist on top of being a great barber. If you’re searching for a barber in Boston, look no further.

HE’S BAAAAAAAAACK! The infamous Ron was away for awhile(out on injury), but he is now back at Ojee’s. I have been going to Ron for close to 20 years. During that time there have been a few occasions when I had to get a haircut somewhere else(didn’t have time to get to shop, he was on vacation, etc.). Every time this happened I left the other shop with renewed appreciation for just how good Ron is. When I heard he was going to be away for a bit due to injury, panic set in; I had to find someone else to cut my hair for awhile. I went to a bunch of other places from Davis Sq. to the South End. Nothing compared. Well, he is finally back, and I can rest well again. Seriously, go check him out.

Fantastic haircut – and company. Ron is very talented with scissors and clippers; I’ve always been happy with the outcome. And he will not disappoint as a conversationalist, with great stories and words of wisdom. Did I hear correctly that Ron hasn’t been seen at Ojee’s in awhile? I hope that’s not true!

I started coming here on the recommendation of multiple neighbors(we all live within walking distance). I’ve now been coming here since 2008, and I’ve always been happy. Many of my friends who have moved out of the neighborhood in the years since continue to commute in from the suburbs to get their hair cut. The one mistake was entirely my fault – I insisted that Ron shave three parallel Vanilla Ice stripes into the right side of my head. He strenuously argued against such a decision, but I refused to listen.

I have been getting my haircut at this place for 5 years. This is more of a review of Ron than anything to do with the shop. I came in to this place after reading the good Unilocal reviews about Ron. This was back when I was in college, and still hasn’t found a good place in the city that gave a good haircut for a reasonable price. The place was kinda run down looking and dirty(appearance has vastly improved in the last few years, but still isn’t the best). The first time I went, I had not had a haircut in over a year. Ron asked me what I wanted and I just told him to do his thing. He gave me the best haircut I ever had until that point. I have been going ever since, and dude never disappoints. He is friendly, always able to get me in, even when its a busy night, but most importantly he always does a good job. I always get compliments on my hair, and my confidence in Ron has allowed me to go for some bolder cuts. I will pretty much just bring in a picture of a haircut I saw that I liked and tell him to give me that, and he will do it, and do it well. He just knows how to cut men’s hair, don’t question him. I’ve learned that whenever I disagree with Ron, he was right. Its like arguing with a neurologist about how the brain works. Ron will give you a great looking haircut that will look good for a month at least. Did I mention it is a very reasonable 22dollars for a cut?

I woke up this morning to discover that my formerly cute pixie cut was now a full-blown David Spade in Joe Dirt mullet. It was all I could think about all day. Sure, classes were interesting, but who can concentrate on classes and learning when your hair is a mullet? Not me. Anyway, as soon as classes were over, I zipped into Ojee’s to inquire about their prices, since I’m a student and on a budget and all that. It’s located conveniently near Hynes, and I walk past it every day, so I figured, why not? I like to consider myself an adventurous person, and I’m really not too particular about my hair, except when it reminds me of Joe Dirt. Anyway, I explained to the lady that I wanted to grow it out, and only needed a trim. She seemed to understand, and chopped away. 20 minutes later and I look acceptable again. My hair is once again at its baseline C+ look(told ya I don’t have high standards). All joking aside, my hair is back to pixie, and I told the stylist I would be back in 2 months for another trim — because we’re growing it out together! Sans mullet! She asked for my name and charged me $ 20 flat, even waving my hand aside as I dug into my wallet for a tip. Bottom line: quick haircut without jibber jabber, and probably the least expensive haircut I could get in the Back Bay. See ya in 2 months when the mullet returns, Ojee.

I’m a bit shocked at the near perfect reviews for this place and Ron. He was nice as could be, the price is okay($ 22 now) and he had me in and out pretty quickly. He started cutting and when I said something about what he was doing, he told me he needed to do it a different way because if he did not I «would hate the way it looked in four weeks.» The result was a shorter haircut than I wanted and the sides of my hair uneven and sticking straight out unless I gel it down. I decided to give it a few days to see how it turned out, and that’s the only reason this is a two star and not one star. Maybe down the road I will like the way it looks, but I’d rather not look like an idiot for the first few weeks.

Ron’s shop was a great discovery, and for the two years I lived in Boston it was the only place I would go for a haircut. Every time I went, I really liked how it turned out, the price was the best you can get — especially for the quality and level of service — and Ron always chats you up and makes it a good time. If you’re a dude and you need a haircut, go here.

Ron, as others have said, is awesome. Always fits me in, always friendly, always does a great job. He doesn’t do anything complicated for me, just a nice normal dude’s cut, but it’s always just right.

Ron’s haircut’s are superb. I used to get my hair cut on Newbury Street, but Ron does a way better job for a way better price. I first heard about Ron from a friend of mine whose hair always looked amazing. I asked him where he got his hair cut, and he told me: «Go to Ojee’s on Mass ave, and ASKFORRON.» I’ve been going there for years, and Ron has never failed to make me look as awesome as possible.

I’ve been coming here for approx 10 years, Ron does a good job cutting my hair(my gf always complements my hair after a haircut from Ron), and he’s friendly. They will occasionally cater to walk-ins depending on how busy they are. The prices aren’t bad, but they have been creeping up these past few years and is almost $ 20 which does seem a little high for a men’s haircut.

After nine years of haircuts, I must finally say, «Ron is great.» My brother told me about this place during my senior year of high school. But for one occasion a long time ago, I have always had Ron cut my hair. I have pretty basic preferences when it comes to hairstyle, and Ron is efficient, skilled, and meticulous. Plus, he’s a great person to talk to when you’re having your hair cut. He’s got some great insights on movies, music, and culture in general. It’s a nice 20 minutes once a month that I spend having my hair cut here. I recommend calling ahead, though Ron can usually squeeze you in if you’re willing to wait for a bit. Also, this place is cash only. As of today, a regular men’s haircut costs $ 18, though I suspect that he could charge several dollars more if he wanted to. I strongly recommend Ojee’s for a great men’s haircut, particularly if you have the time to stop in here during the week.

I hate getting haircuts. I never know what to ask for and end up at a joint like supercuts because I assume its the easiest way to get the process over with. I got my haircut by Ron recently and it was one of the few times that I left a barbershop/hairdresser in a decent mood with a good feeling about the new haircut situation. Ron is a good guy with a great attitude and sense of conversation. He clearly knows what hes doing and isnt short on suggestions, which is helpful if you have no idea how you want your hair to look(or even if you do and want something new). Well worth the 18 – 20 bucks for a haircut considering that super cuts charges folks 16 bucks to get a lousy haircut after enduring 15 minutes of loud crappy music while having a pair of scissors blindly shred the top of your head.

I accidentally woke up the sleeping lady and was coerced into a haircut with her. I asked for Ron anyway, and she said he no longer works there :( The haircut started out alright, she buzzed my sides with a #2 as asked, but she did leave a line at first. Then she busted out the scissors. This is when I began to question her methods. She was cutting all over the place and rarely looked where she was cutting, judging only by whether or not the tuft of hair she pulled was longer than her finger was wide. The end result was a cut a little shorter than what I wanted and messy looking on top. The whole time she only asked a few questions or remained silent. I nearly fell asleep twice. Maybe the infamous Ron does still work there and I was tricked, but I’m going to look for another barber nonetheless.

My boy Ron hooks it up tight for a good price. He’s a skilled barber /stylist, and he’s a good dude to boot. I only get my hair cut probably 3 or 4 times per year, but I always come here, as it’s not too expensive($ 18 + $ 2 for tip, holla at ya boy). Plus the name is hilarious, my budzo and I used to call the big O an «oh-gee.» Also you could say it sounds like O.G., as in Original Gangsta. Ron is an O.G. for sure.

I got a recommendation for this place from a friend of a friend. Decided to check it out. When I called up, the receptionist was kind of pushy and rushed me. Yet I still post 5 stars. I had Ron cut my hair. The dude is this chubby brown dude with a really cool mane of hair. He is also totally cool to talk to, and a very talented stylist. He gave me a money haircut(nothing extreme) that was very satisfying. He has a cool vibe, and that really made me comfortable while getting the ‘do. We chatted, and it was done before I knew. I just got back from it, and although I haven’t got any compliments YET, I know it will get a few. I’m going out tonight with my new ‘do and club kicks, and I will be knocking the socks off of the fems. In the words of my man MC Paul Barman: «My dandy voice makes the most anti-choice granny’s panties moist.» EDIT: the cut is 18 $. It’s been a week and I haven’t gotten that many compliments, but — I — like it, and I feel just as money as if people have been complimenting it all along. It stays five stars.
