I wish I could give half stars because this place is definitely a solid 3.5. Cute interior with a few seats and a wide selection of sandwiches and snack foods to go along with your lunch. I was craving an Italian sub and this place gave me a decent one, though I was a little weirded out by the face that the interior of the sandwich was already assembled and stored in the fridge. Not too expensive and quick, I assume that it gets really busy around lunch time but I went at 11 and no one else was there. CASHONLY

Peter’s is where I go when I want a grandma’s kitchen type of lunch. This simple little sandwich shop has the usual deli classics as well as quiche, chicken kebobs and comforting specials like meatloaf, Thanksgiving turkey and chicken cordon bleu with rice or mashed potatoes. Nothing is fancy, everything is $ 5 to $ 6 and the line gets pretty heavy with businessmen between noon and 2(overwhelmingly men — why?). The Syrian(I think) owners are really nice and will make your food any way you want. It’s so cute how the guy who makes the sandwiches will take the time to find the best piece of lettuce and evenly distribute the mustard throughout, as if it were his own sandwich. The pickles are also awesome, really crisp and fresh. I’m having one with the cordon bleu sandwich on bulkie roll right now.

You know when you walk by a place 3 – 400 times and never even notice it exists? That’s what Peter’s Deli was for me; it was a store or something right between Mr. Dooley’s(which I love) and Italian Café(which I tolerate and frequent habitually). I’m not sure why I never noticed it, but finally I over heard a coworker talking about it so I figured, hey, maybe I should try it out because surely If I have anoeher slice of pizza from Italian Café, I’m going to actually turn into a Pizza Pie myself!(although, this trend of eating hte same food constantly hasn’t been proven to biologically morph people into said food products, my mom has really drilled it into my head that if you eat to many oranges, or whatever, you’re going to inevitbily turn into an orange). But I digress… Back to the point… Pete’s is freakin awesome! The owner(I’m assuming Peter) hand crafts each sandwhich on the list as described or to your specification, and also has a great list of specials each day. It’s incredible watching the care and attention that he puts into each sandwich. Pete’s is clean, quick, reasonably priced, and most importantly DELICIOUS while not being anything fancy. There’s also a lot of healthy(and unhealthy) options to choose from, and the small dining area is kinda cool too– Although there are a ton of options for lunch in the financial district, none of htem are really any good, which is what sets Peter’s apart– it really is actually very very good. If you are like me and havent’ walked in but pass it every day– give it a try!

Above-average deli. Sandwiches are over-sized and fresh. I love their pickles too. The big salad pouch is excellent and its huge.
