Love that I found this park! I just moved to the Ink Block residence, and have my german shepherd pup with me– he is very energetic, and I take him for longs walks everyday– but this is perfect space for him to just run free and socialize!

This park is so great we travel all the way from Dedham. There is just a handful of places to take a 90 pound black lab, Padro. The dog owners are careful about their dogs behavior, and mess. The thing is we’ve been here at night and nobody uses it then, don’t know why.

Peter’s Park is a great area for your dogs to socialize and get some exercise. The park consists of a small dog area(25lbs or smaller) and an all dog area, which is a lot bigger. Dogs ranging from Chihuahuas to Great Danes frequent the park and for the most park, all get along. There may be a few incidences where a few dogs get upset, but hey, that’s unavoidable. the pebbles help keep the dogs paws clean and makes waste pick up easy. Polka Dog Bakery just around the corner also provides complimentary trash bags so you can and should ALWAYS clean up after your loved ones. Most dog owners are responsible with watching their dogs and making sure that they’re on their best behavior and not bothering others. Theres been a few times where some pet owners don’t seem to care if their dogs are biting/bumping others dogs/human, but a friendly reminder is always helpful. If you’re new and are warey of how your dog would react to others and vice versa, I recommend that you bring him/her into the little dog park first(if size meets requirement) to familiarize him/herself with the place. Please don’t bring your dog into the park leashed. It is dangerous for those dogs that are running all over the place, and sometimes running very fast. Overall, this is a great place to get your dogs acquinted with other dogs and for you to make new friends.

While it is currently half peagravel half dirt, this is a pretty good sized dog park, undergoing a major renovation. There are people here at all hours of the day and all types of dogs come to play. We go daily and have yet to see the same dog twice. Lots of friendly folks inside the play area, although at night there tends to be a homeless crowd drinking/sitting in the corner of the larger park that houses the dog play area. There are good garbage cans right outside the fenced in area, but bring your own bags for now.

Peters Park Dog Recreation is one of the few open spaces in Boston where puppies are allowed to roam free. Every bit of the space is enclosed so there are few chances for the escape artist. Right now the park is undergoing a major renovation and when its complete it will be amazing! There will not only be a place for dogs to enjoy themselves but there will be a large and small dog park. This is great for all those smaller dogs who don’t get to enjoy themselves at the dog park because they are scared of the bigger fellows. Street parking is easy to find and its an easy walk to Polka Dog Bakery to pick up some doggie goodies on the way out.
