Good phở. Hot soup and fresh ingredients. The shop can be very crowded and the waiting patrons can gather around and make things uncomfortable. Wait outside if you can manage the weather and sit by the wall if you have the option ;)

Well, pretty simple: we ordered delivery and they mistakenly brought only one entrée, not the two we ordered. I called to let them know, and the guy who I spoke to, right outta the gate, told me that I made the mistake, not him. When I politely disagreed, he rudely told me that he was sending someone BACKTOMYAPARTMENTTOPICKUPTHEFOOD. Yes, that was his solution. Not to bring the correct order, just to take back the food. So, I agreed. And your delivery was probably late that night because the poor driver had to spend time going back to my place to pick up food that would be thrown out as soon as it was brought back to the restaurant. So finally, we just ordered dinner Indian food from Mela. It was delicious.

Went here for first time upon finding that Bangkok city was closed. Busiest of a bunch of new exciting fun casual places along Mass Ave. Berklees presence has sure enlivened the former dead spaces along this part of Mass Ave as well as Boylston. This place a mix of Thai and Vietnamese is great. The line out the door at 7 was further testimony. Lots of in the know Asians plus others. Young crowd. Close seating but still reasonably private. Menu has lots of choices with fun apps. I had a skewer of teriyaki chicken that was awesome. My wife had a spring roll like thing that was tasty too. My pad Thai was tasty and huge. I brought food home for about 5th time in my very long life. Wife had a veggie tofu dish with lots of brown rice. She loved it Bill with apps, dinners and great Thai tea(lots of refills) and full tip was $ 40. Great food, great value. Don’t miss it.

Service was slow because they are so busy, especially around dinner time but food was well worth the wait. Pad Thai was delicious and phở looked great too. Also fairly inexpensive for the location near back bay. Would definitely recommend!

As a college student in Boston as well as a Thai food lover, this place seemed perfect for me as it served many different types of Thai food, and the prices were great, especially for dinner. Having looked up the menu prior to going, I already knew what I wanted(Pad Thai) since I had tried that before at another restaurant back home and loved it. And I was not disappointed. My first time going I ordered the food as take out and the Pad Thai that I got from Phở Basil was great, so I decided to go in for a sit down meal with my family a couple weeks later. The food was again great, as I got my favorite Thai curry dish, Massaman curry, and the presentation of the dish was very nice too with plenty of garnish without sacrificing the amount of food that you got as some restaurants tend to do. Two things I do want to note for those going to Phở Basil to dine in is that 1) the service, while friendly, can sometimes take a while to first come over to your table and 2) they kind of seem to cheap out on wine and only give one or two sips. However the small wait at the beginning is definitely worth it, and I don’t drink at many meals, so both of my gripes really don’t overshadow the overall experience of going to Phở Basil. I would definitely recommend going to Phở Basil, and all the dishes that I have gotten(all of which were good) are: Sweet and Sour Chicken, Tamarind Duck, Massaman Curry with Chicken, and Pad Thai with Chicken.

The food is quite good, and they deliver locally(a relative rarity for non-Chinese Asian food establishments). The phở is good, not great. The prices are very reasonable considering location and generous portions. I am particularly a fan of their Mass Ave Noodles with crispy chicken(you can actually substitute crispy chicken in many thinks — it’s basically fried chicken). Overall good food and good value.

Phở Basil is like that friend you don’t dislike but wouldn’t go out of your way to spend time with. The food is acceptable and the prices appealing, especially if you come for the lunch specials. The Pad Thai is solid. Better than most restaurants as the ingredients tasted fresh and the vegetables were properly sautéed but the seasoning could have used some kick and suffered from being a tad too bland, especially when compared to the explosion of flavor in Thelonius Monkfish’s Pad Thai. The Ginger Tofu was another solid but unremarkable dish. The tofu was delicious and well seasoned but the veggies and rice were bland. It felt like the tofu was a separate dish. The veggies and rice were«just there», not as a complement to the tofu. It needed more ginger sauce to integrate the ingredients.

phở basil is definitely a go-to whenever my husband and I want thai takeout. the thit lui(chicken or beef skewers) are amazing, and we also love the shumai and the spicy crab rangoon. we calibrate every thai restaurant based on the traditional fried rice, and this one easily earned its 5 stars. also recommend both the pineapple and mango fried rice dishes. the best curry dish is the jungle curry which is a bit spicy and comes with chicken, beef, and tons of vegetable, and the panang, mango, and yellow curries are all great too. for a little less spice, the crystal noodles can make for a great pairing. food always arrives quickly, fresh, and the portions and price are great.

The tom yum soup looked spicier than it was but it was still very tasty. The servers are super busy with the lunchtime crowd but still take the time to check in on you and make sure you have everything you need. I would go back here.

Phở Basil, I need you in my life!!! One wouldn’t piece together Thai food in Boston, a city known for its seafood, but wow what a great find! The food here is delicious, affordable and portions are large and generous! We had so much leftovers which we couldn’t really eat since we were staying in a hotel without a microwave in the room. The duck noodles — GETTHEM! Savory duck with thick rice noodles in a clear soup broth. Tom Yum Fried Rice with Crispy Chicken — You can definitely feel the spicy heat bite after bite. Flavored well & plenty of ingredients. HUGE portion. Crispy Chicken Wings with Thai sauce on the side — Fried to perfection! Nice & Juicy Wings Seaweed Soup(individual portion) — Chicken broth soup to soothe a coarse throat! YUM! This soup is a meal in itself! A rare find that I can enjoy Thai food this much!

The place is very small and cozy. I only had Druken Noodle, as I was starving. They had no flat noodle, so they offer me to use other noodles instead. I ordered the small size dish, but for my opinion it’s big enough for me. The noodles were good, and the vegetables were crunchy and fresh. Also it was quite spicy for me, but it was a thing I was looking for. The service was very fast and they refill your glass of water very quickly.

Best thai food ive ever had! Small but cozy space. We went around 830pm and had no wait. Parking in area was tough but you can find a few spots on wkends where you wont get a ticket. The food was so fresh and tasty i was amazed. Service was fast and waitress was attentive and other staff was helpful also. We ordered a small bowl of chicken phở which was huge and the best soup ive ever had. Light fresh and simlply delish! Thai basil chicken fried rice was a great first try for me. A bit spicy, crispy chicken and the lightest and freshest rice ive ever had. The taste was so flavorful, if i hadnt been so full id easily eat the whole plate lol Crispy spring rolls were good too, however the order only came with 3 pieces. But thats just enough of your sharing other food. Thai calamari was another first but a pleasant treat. Crispy, fresh and yummy paired with the spicy chilly sauce and sweet duck sauce. All this food was only $ 30.great deal IMO! My second favorite Unilocal suggestion =)

Phở Basil is a top contender in Boston’s Thai restaurant scene. Before I get into the details, let me first admit that I didn’t order any of the phở or pad Thai dishes. Now I’m aware that that majority of the readers are raising their eyebrows, and questioning whether to read any further. But when it comes down to it I cannot say no to a coconut curry dish. In my opinion, the glory of Thai food is attributed to the inverse combination of fiery curry paste and cooling coconut milk. I settled for yellow curry, the mildest when it comes to the Thai curries. The curry itself was very creamy and had the right balance of turmeric. The vegetables were also well presented and added color and texture to the dish. They were cooked perfectly, slightly tender with a crunch. The best part of the dish was the shrimp which was cooked well but more importantly, there were enough pieces to last the entire dish! I acknowledge that yellow curry is a somewhat«basic» Thai dish. The great thing about Phở Basil is its large and extensive menu with more unique and assorted curries(& noodles). For instance, my boyfriend got the beef cinnamon curry; although an unusual combination of flavors, it was delicious! The sparking limeaid was also very refreshing and an obvious choice in the 80 degrees weather. It tasted fresh with an initial sour taste, but went down smooth. Surprisingly inexpensive and for a place that seems constantly busy, service seemed managed and I wasn’t waiting for long either.

Comida deliciosa e bem servida! O ambiente é descontraído. Só não foi 5 estrelas por conta do chão que não estava tão limpo. Uma refeição e tanto!
