honestly this place sucks. if I could leave 0 stars I would!!! we arrived and hey seated us next to the door which wasn’t a big deal but then they propped open the door. we asked for them to close the door bc it was freezing outside and we were freezing and all they said was«sorry it’s hot in the back of the restaurant so we have to air it out» and then we asked to move to a different table and they said no they have too many reservations but the restaurant was empty? But then when my food came, I ordered the Italian panini with a Caesar salad replacing the fries it honestly tasted awful!!! The meat was cold and the cheese wasn’t melted at all. The salad tastes like old socks and when I told the waitress about it she said«ooohh» and that’s it!!! Then to top it all off they charged us 18% gratuity t the bill. It’s overpriced mediocre food. This place is awful. I’ve never disliked a restaurant as much as I disliked this one. The prices are incredibly high for the quality and quantity of food you get. I had to pay almost $ 12 for hummus and pita bread And our waitress, Noelle was not pleasant either. First of all they sat us at a table right near the open door on a cold night, which was bad to begin with, but even worse because when we asked for the door to be closed since we were freezing they outright said no. Then they added a gratuity charge of 18% to the tab for each separate check in our group of five and then asked for another separate gratuity on top of that! The service didn’t even deserve a tip period. I do not recommend this place. At all. Waste of money and a complete waste of time.

I think Scoozi is a really cute place with nice food and service. They are not the best at anything specifically but almost everything is very good. My favorites are: — Panzanella salad(very healthy and good price) — Steak tips(great marinade) — Steak panini — Calamari — Sangria Plus: Patio is very nice for summer.

Stopped by after a sox game for drinks and apps. Outdoor seating right outside their front door was wonderful. Hostess and waitress were both super friendly. Our two friends were«regulars» but it was a first for hubby and me. Our friends ordered beer on tap and hubby and I had lemonade and iced tea. We ordered 4 apps to share: roasted eggplant meze, buffalo chicken wings, basket of fries and Fritti Calamari D’almafi. The roasted eggplant meze was served with hummus, olives, roasted red peppers and flatbread — delicious, the buffalo wings had a kick to them, tender, basket of fries were crispy but a bit on the greasy side and the calamari was excellent served with marinara and tartar. A terrific way to end a great day and great game.

It’s not the best place, but it’s decent food. The prices are a little bit more on the pricey end and I don’t know why. The quality of the food isn’t amazing so I’m not sure why people would come back here. They have all american familiar kind of food and it’s located at a very convenient place so I can see why it’s popular! The service is pretty quick and if you’re in a lunch rush, this is the perfect place because the food doesn’t take long. I would come back for a quickie sandwich if anything, but there’s nothing special. The place also has outdoor seatings for the summer so that’s a plus! Other than that, the food is not really worth talking about.

4 stars for sangria. 3 stars for food. 2 stars for the so called waitress uniform. Settling at an overall 3 stars. Sangria — cheap and delicious. And sold by the pitcher. I repeat. Sold by the pitcher for cheap! Comes in all the colors of rainbow too — peach, mango, pomegranate, red, white, and probably more. Food — sandwiches are good, not great. Nothing to write home about. Good for students who feel like eating something a little nicer than dining hall food, but are trying to ball on that work-study hourly budget. Those outfits — geez, leggings and sneakers aren’t acceptable attire if it does not relate to physical activity. Just because the tshirts are black, and the legging are black, doesn’t make it okay for waitresses to be walking around serving like that. Might I recommend actual pants? Or even shirts that are long enough to be leggings appropriate? I just can’t take the place seriously when waitresses are serving a Cabernet in ¾ length leggings and pink nike frees.

I’ve never had a pasta dish that was actually in broth rather than sauce(short rib ravioli). Good atmosphere but less than mediocre Italian food, seemed like most of it came out of a microwave. Pricy as well, although the staff were friendly. Overall I’d avoid.

This was the only option for Italian food since most places in North End were closed. Food — I was eager to eat fish with a glass of wine. The fish was more like steak and possibly the driest slice of fish. The waitress offered to struck it off the bill, but surely didnt make up for the experience. Service — Quite slow. Surprisngly our entrees came in before the appetizers.

Their food quality is getting worse, and their dishes are getting smaller!!! I tried it last year and this year and I really felt the quality is getting worse! Not gonna try it again!

We got the shrimp scampi, a penne pasta with chicken sausage, and sangria. The shrimp was absolutely delicious, in fact it was the best that we’ve had in a while, however the spaghetti that came with it was a little greasy and not al dente as we would like. The penne was okay. The sangria is really good but with a lower alcohol content than I expected.

Scoozi is located on Comm Ave right off the green space known as the BU Grounds East where I spotted some folks hula hooping. They have a row of tables along the curved window facing the yard. I sat by the window and found that some of the chill of the night air made its way in and into my bones, so I wore my sweater through the meal. Tables were set pretty close together, so you have to either be thin or good at angling your body to slide past the table and into the inner seat. I did appreciate how they sat parties across the room with an empty table between till they couldn’t anymore. If you came here for one of the weekly specials posted on their online menu, don’t. On our night, there were none to my disappointment, as the entrée special of the day was on my short list of what to get. Roasted Eggplant Meze ~ Roasted eggplant with peppers, tomatoes, hummus, olives, olive oil, and flat bread 8.95 A relatively healthy option, though I ended up stuffing myself with the bread, used to convey all the heathy stuff to my mouth Maryland Crab Cakes ~ Fresh Jumbo Lump Maryland Crab with a beer based sauce 12.95 The twin cakes were perhaps 2.5 inches in diameter and had little to bind the shreds of crab meat together. It was tasty and moist, though for the price it would have been nice to have a third patty share the plate. Grilled Lamb Steak ~ Served over pesto risotto and grilled asparagus 21.95 The meat itself was rather tough, but the pesto flavor shined through the risotto and the 8 stalks of asparagus were thin and tender. Lobster Ravioli ~ Lobster Ravioli in a Rosé Cream Sauce 14.95 The heart shaped previously frozen(as confirmed with our server) ravioli numbered 8 in an order and were perhaps 2 bites apiece. The pillows were tasty though thinly filled with the crustacean, but the sauce tasted funny to me… not sure why, but I didn’t care for it. Cheesecake ~ Blueberry cheesecake finished with a blackberry sauce 8.25 Recommended by our server, this was thick creamy; I prefer light creamy, and I’m not a blackberry fan. Limoncello Marscapone Cake ~ Sicilian lemon infused sponge cake and Fresh Italian mascarpone topped with European white chocolate curls. 7.95 Best taste of the night — light and lemony… yum! A new dessert of theirs, it deserves to earn a set place on their menu, though I wish the portion could have been bigger to match that of the larger slice of cheesecake Service was okay mostly, but not perfect. We were chatting with our menus closed before us for longer than comfortable before our server returned to get our order. While she asked us how things were as we enjoyed our appetizers, she did not do the same after the entrees were served. My water was refilled once when still a third full, but later sat entirely empty on the table through several interactions with our server over the dessert menu and coffee. There’s an ATM available out back, but it is set right in front of the ladies room with its door propped wide open — awkward!

Boy what can I say about this place… Confusing? You’d think at first glance its a casual Italian restaurant but with some sort of modern twist. Well this is true, but in all the wrong ways. Sure there are candles at each table with an eloquent setup, but that completely goes away as you see tvs everywhere(not a bad thing per say) populated by 20-somethings drinking beer and sangria. Also, they were playing very club-ish music in the place… Really? I don’t see how listening to Skrillex while eating penne a la vodka matches. All of that could be tolerable if the food was good… it really wasn’t. Average at best. Is it a club? Is it fine dining? Is it a college watering hole? Its all 3! It does not work folks… Pick one, not all. If I had the hindsight to keep walking east, I would have gladly ate at Bertuccis or Unos.

Ehhh it’s just whatever… Just convenience is a plus because its so close to BU. Literally on BUCAMPUS But food wise — everything is so salty and heavy. Had their side salad, lobster ravioli, and margarita pizza … And definitely not something I would try again or crave again… Too cheesy & no flavor-taste-bud-evoking dishes… Expensive lunch for nothing…

I’ve been coming to Scoozi now for 6+ years and it’s a good casual lunch/dinner spot. The main entrees are a bit overpriced but the panini’s and calzones are reasonable. Also, I would have to agree with the rest of the reviews regarding their service. It’s definitely hit or miss. On the plus side, they have Groupon’s and livingsocial deals often so it makes the trip down worthwhile. Their sangria’s are all pretty good. I would recommend the pomegranate or the house red. For food, the calzones are awesome and all of the panini’s are delicious. If you are a student, they have a panini lunch special for ~$ 7 and a breakfast sandwich and coffee deal in the mornings. They are totally worth it. The atmosphere is relaxed and their menu is comprehensive. Keep the Groupons coming and we’ll keep coming! Check out my blog(complete with pictures and childish humor) for the full review!

Nice option for after work drinks and dinner. I wasn’t a fan of the pomegranate sangria; it was too sugary with not enough flavor. The passionfruit sangria was amazing, though! I also love their pizza dough here. I generally don’t like the outer edge of the pizza crust, but love nibbling on them here. It’s not too thick or doughy, and hits the perfect balance between soft and crispy. The house special pizza is my favorite — it’s a typical combination pizza done super well. It’s also a ridiculously good deal. It’s $ 15 and will easily feed two or three people. When I go with a girl friend, we always have leftovers for lunch. Another favorite of mine here is the mushroom gnocchi in cream sauce. I could have a plate of it every single day! Service can be hit or miss, but overall, it has not been a problem to be fed and liquored up in a timely manner.

As much as I enjoy writing reviews for bad experiences, I also enjoy writing reviews when I have a good experience. As you can see from my previous reviews, I have not been happy with Scoozi in the past. However, today I went back for a FREE meal due to a work event, and it was like I was eating in a completely different restaurant. They were prepared, organized, and fully-staffed. The food was outstanding as well. So, based on today’s experience, I am giving 5 stars. If Scoozi keeps this up, I may have to give them another chance! Thanks for a great event Scoozi.

So you are not going to believe this but I had a first date here… We get there and it was three hours before the published closing time and the manager told us because of spring brake they decided to close early. I asked did you put it on your FB page… Unilocal.4 square? They said no. Ok We were pissed… Fastforward 3 days later… on our second date… he says wanna try that place again. I said sure. so he CALLED and asked… are you closing early they said no of course not. we got there in 30 mins… and you know the told us that they could not seat us because they had already turned off the ovens… UNBELIEVEABLE. When we asked for the manager she saw us and her face dropped because she knows we were pissed the other night. We explained that we had just called even showed her the phone log on the phone. she said it had been slow so they decieded to close and we must have talked to the girl that she just cut for the night. Of course its slow. NOONEKNOWS when they are open

Talk about great specialty pizza! A Boston-University student favorite, friend and Unilocaler Samantha S. took me to Scoozi to introduce me to her favorite pizza. As a firm believer in NY pizza, I was hesitant to accept her claims about this«amazing» pizza, but I was willing to try something new. We ordered the chicken pesto pizza and it was absolutely delicious. The crust was doughy, the sauce was fresh, the grilled chicken was tender, the combination of mozzarella and ricotta was perfect and the pesto sauce was fantastic. We nearly ate the entire pizza. The place is a little pricey, especially for students, but boy oh boy was the pizza worth it.

Came here for a post-graduation lunch and was really disappointed with the food and the service. The amount of time we spent waiting for our waitress was a little bit ridiculous and our main courses were ALL cold. The bread on the paninis was soggy, the rice and crab cakes were super salty & the pasta lacked any real flavor. I will give Scoozi points for having a nice décor and really good passion fruit sangria. So if you’re just looking to grab some drinks, I might recommend it. Other than that, I was far less than impressed.
