Loved the service here. The person working was incredibly helpful and easy to talk to, and gave me some great suggestions for wine that would pair well with my meal. Made the purchase super simple, and had a wide variety of options for any price point.

for a local divey liquor store, it’s a go to spot for me to pick up wine. basic selection of the more common labels. open late! cool laidback staff!

This is my local place. Not the best selection, not the best prices, but it is convenient. They have a rotating Lagunitas six pack, which is awesome, so keep that up. It’s also a little annoying that they don’t have their beer prices posted in the cooler. Still, the staff is pretty nice and the bourbon selection isn’t half bad for a store their size.

You may likely avoid this place because the exterior looks a little seedy, but give it a shot! They have the best prices I’ve seen in town(for example, the same bottle of wine was $ 2 more at Charles Street Liquors) and a decent selection of solid standards of liquor, beer, and wine. It’s pretty no-frills so if you’re looking for anything out of the mainstream, you may want to head to Charles Street. They also accept out of state ID, unlike some of the people who work at Jobi up the street. The guys here can’t be beat– super friendly, helpful, and just really nice. A year or two ago when I purchased a bunch of beer and stupidly realized they were not twist off tops and I no longer had my trusty key chain beer opener, the guy who rang me up threw one in for free. Pretty solid!

Good enough selection for me– but I am hardly ever looking for anything rare or special. Helpful staff who remembers your name after a couple visits. Or is that just me? Do I buy too much wine? They can’t really help it, but there seems to be a high occurrence of homelessness/loitering outside.

Decent selection, decent service. A little surprised that they didn’t have bags big enough to fit a case in, but hey, I like wandering the streets of Boston looking like an alcoholic. NP.

Best liquor store in the area, in my opinion. The employees are all really friendly and helpful. They will help you find whatever you need, or help you pick something if you don’t really know what you want. The prices are also very reasonable. Beer is way cheaper than at the convenience stores, and they have a pretty big selection, including 40’s. They have some of the cheapest liquor prices I’ve seen as well, ranging from really cheap to rather expensive, so you can find something regardless of whether you have 10 $ or 100 $. They also have tons of different sizes of everything(including a wide variety of nips for 1 $). I’m not much of a wine drinker, but they have a huge wine selection as well, including chilled beverages. They always have tons of «2 for» deals, so you can get two bottles of wine for less than 15 $. I would say it is one of the largest liquor stores in the area, and I’ve never had a problem finding what I wanted there. simmons has my highest approval.

Since my last review of Simmons things have turned around. Their selection has blossomed and prices have gotten better.

So this place seems to be getting a lot of negative reviews, but it was my favorite place to stop for wine when I lived on the hill. The people who work there were always nice and helpful, but what I loved were the prices. They have really cheap wines and great«buy two» deals. Probably not the best choice for connoisseurs, but excellent if you’re a poor college kid with more refined tastes.

It looks like this place has a nice enough selection of harder stuff, but I wasn’t too impressed with their beer choices: it’s basically the usual suspects for a Boston liquor store, ranging from the Buds to the Guinnesses to the Becks to the Sam Adams/Harpoon. However, the prices aren’t too bad, considering I’ve seen worse, and the service was good enough, so if you’re looking for either harder alcohol or regular beers, this looks like a decent enough place.
