Love that they serve drinks all day and have and have a great breakfast menu. Otherwise their food is average. It’s conveniently located at the Maverick T stop and the staff are always friendly, but it is on the smaller side. Margaritas and milkshakes never fail to disappoint.

Excellent! I eat here everyday for my lunch break. I work at the airport and it’s a quick walk over. The staff is very friendly and the food is always fresh. Would strongly recommend the shrimp salad!

The drinks are somewhat strong but everything else is a complete miss. The service is horrible, brought friends here and was so embarrassed by how rude and dismissive the staff was. We were greeted, if that’s what they call it, rudely and didn’t actually get a server until 10 mins in. Even my friends who work in food service said they couldn’t believe how incompetent and cold the staff was. The food is no winner either. The chips are stale and cold, the nachos are bland, and the enchiladas would be okay if they were served at least at room temp. Easy pass.

A true neighborhood spot that is clearly well-loved! Arrived here for lunch on a weekend and it was absolutely packed. The Colombian plate with grilled steak for the win! It’s everything you want to induce yourself into a pleasurable food coma: sweet and slightly sticky grilled plantains, chicharones(crispy, smoky pile of them snaking around your plate), marinated pinto beans, rice, salad(now it’s healthy!), avocado and a sizzling tender churasco(thin grilled steak). Ohh and a fried egg(perfectly runny) on top because why not? Service was warm, very friendly and asked us numerous times if we were pleased with everything or needed anything. Prices are extremely reasonable especially given just how much food this place manages to pack onto one pristine plate.

I’ve ordered takeout from here twice, and both times it was pretty good. The quesadilla I got was excellent; the taco salad was decent. The prices are great, portions are large, and they make the orders really quickly. It’s definitely greasy, but both times that’s what I was looking for. Check it out if you’re in the area!

«Meh» describes this restaurant perfectly. The chicken in my entrée was weird and rubbery, and the rest of the dish was forgettable. The service was very good though.

Just had lunch at Taco Mex. Great atmosphere — bright and colorful décor. Soccer on every tv! Loved it. Ordered the breakfast burrito and it was delicious and priced just right($ 7) for the size. Definitely more than enough for me for a lunch. Lots of families here on a Sunday afternoon too. Will definitely be a favorite new spot for me.

Great food and nice amount served for the price! Even when the place was packed, the waitress gave us a good service, and treated us very nicely and courteous. Will definitely return to this place!

I have been there a few times. The food is very good most of the time. My girlfriend and I walked in and sat, we were not greeted. Waited patiently for the waitresses to greet us and give us menus; the waitresses looked at us, however they did not. Two other couples came in 5 minutes after us, the received greetings and menus. The servers clearly saw us getting up and leaving with a bad taste in our mouths; as they did not even try to apologize or do anything about it. The good food isn’t worth very bad service. We will never set foot in their establishment again.

Got Unilocal just to write this review. Worst customer service I have ever experienced. We arrived and sat down and right after two other groups entered and sat as well, the other two groups received menus and were attended. My group sat there and just watched. The waitress clearly saw we had not been attended and kept going on with her business as if we were invisible. Never going back again.

Small place in East Boston, not bad food they accommodated us for 7 people easily for the tiny space. The food was delicious good tacos, the meat was something different but tasted really good. Had a burrito which was also good not a bad place for the area, which most places are dive bars at night time. Not the greatest burrito but very filling, every one else’s dished looked delicious. Very big portions, drinks were very limited in beer but other homemade stuff had a lot of options.

This afternoon we were looking for somewhere to eat in East Boston and we ended up at this restaurant. When we entered the restaurant it was totally a dive and the place was dark. We bumped into some friends from Western MA which was nice and we ended up sitting close together because the place is so small. The traditional Mexican food was great, but I decided to step outside the box and try their raw oysters and shrimp plate as well as their Papusas. The papusa was delicious but the oysters on a half shell were terrible. They weren’t shucked correctly and there were so many shell piece in the oysters that it took away from the meal. The price was also a bit much for the quantity and quality. Overall, the meal was decent but I am upset with the fact that I decided to buy the oysters. In the future, if we stop here we will eat some more of their traditional items.

Slightly disappointed to find that this«Mexican» restaurant is actually more Colombian than Mexican. My mother and me were not satisfied with our nachos or burritos. My experience took another fall when I asked our server if the guacamole could be put INSIDE our burrito, only to see that when the burrito arrived– guac was on the side. I might reconsider this place for a Colombian dish, but East Boston has lots of other amazing restaurants. Prices are decent-can’t complain about that!

east boston. this was my first experience in the neighborhood which is predominantly hispanic so i fit right in. i ate here a couple of times and the food was always good. also the service. there was one night i showed up with a couple of friends who happen to be white and had been drinking piss beer for a few hours. our server came up to us smiley as usual. one of my friends got super creepy at the waitress and asked for her a beer. the other one joined and ordered a beer too. they were so light they were red devil and even a bit sweaty. in retrospective, fucking creepy… anyways the waitress looked at me and said to me in spanish«they are already fucked up, right?» i said yes. so yeah, white drunk people at mexican restaurants. what is this? tijuana? 4 stars for cutting them off from alcohol. i made fun of these two clowns for weeks.

I absolutely love this place. Went with my boyfriend for my first time and the food is so good. After we went that time we haven’t stopped coming back. The plates are always big, you’ll always leave full, and the servers are always so friendly and nice. They have great choice of music, and right by maverick station and lots of parking! Would definitely recommend.

Love the atmosphere. Very casual Latin with a mom and pop store feel. Very personal. Great place to go with a small group(3 – 4). Reasonably priced imo. Got the Colombian Style Burrito/Burrito Paisa, was good and filling. I think a lot of people can appreciate the authentic feel of the place though. It’s not trying to be Latin-style.
