This place used to be fantastic. It’s gone waaaaay downhill. I went there to grab some sushi and a rice bowl. I usually eat there but decided to bring it home to eat it. As I took it out of he bag it was bad. Not taste wise, the fish. B. A. D. I never bring food back. Basically because the parking in Southie sucks and I didn’t want to lose my spot. Plus usually once I get home I’m to lazy to leave again. The way they treat you there is awful but the food used to make up for it. Not this time. I got treated like garbage then served it. I was pissed and could care less about my parking spot or the fact my work boots were off, I was going back. When I got there I got an attitude and got asked«what’s that». Exactly lady what is this. To top it off, no apologies AND while she gave me my money back for the sushi, she ran my card again and charged me for the rice bowl(I guess I should pay for it but I kind of expected a «hey sorry we screwed up, the rice bowl is on us» nope.) So long story short, this place sucks. Don’t go here.

Food is decent but they frequently get order instructions wrong so, even though they staple the bag shut for takeout, open it and check your order. They are probably 15 for 20 on getting orders completely right(missing extra sauce, missing fried rice even though it clearly identified it on the receipt, and one time the cashier must have put the order in wrong as the chef was yelling at him over the printout).

I only order the chicken teriyaki with low mein and was highly unsatisfied that due to the fact that they speak so fast and with a strong accent THEY get frustrated when I ask them to repeat my order. How about my own frustration that today I elected to order my families food on arrival to avoid any confusion. I get home 30 mins later only to have all 4 chicken bowls with macky unseasoned white rice. Argghhh… you know that feeling when you are starving and have your tastebuds set for something and it not be what you had hoped or paid for? That was my food today. I was no longer hungry.

Ordered: Regular sushi combo — This combo comes with a bowl of miso soup, which comes larger than what most places serve. It’s also less salty that what most places serve which is great! I always feel most miso soups come with too much sodium. Tuna nigiri — a little bit blend, on the mushy side in terms of texture Salmon nigiri — flavor was good and on the spot, the texture tasted like it was slightly over handled. There was a small black spot stuck on the fish that i had to pick off. White fish nigiri — both flavor and texture were standard, it did not stick well to the rice and fell right off. Imitation crab stick nigiri — flavor is under whelming, there is no other flavor agent on top of the rice other than just the imitation crab stick and the piece of nori that holds it together California roll(maki) — California rolls almost always taste about the same anywhere you go. You just can’t mess up a california roll. It was cut into 8 fairly small pieces, about ¾ inch thick. Shrimp nigiri — this did not appear or taste fresh. The shrimp is dry in the same way it would be if you left it sitting out for a prolonged period of time Standard(Black) milk tea with boba. The flavor of the tea is spot on. The bobba is a bit hard from sitting there for too long. I used to make bubble tea at home a lot, so I know that this texture is from an old batch of boba rather than undercooking the boba. Ambiance: Extremely casual, sunny seating area if you come during the day. I do like that they have the option of low sodium soy sauce on each table. They also have WIFI! Overall this is a decent eatery and I would come here again to hang out and/or work again in between things.

Made the mistake of ordering sushi from here. Salmon and avocado roll was not bad but the spicy tuna roll was so terribly spicy and the fish smelled very funky. It’s as if they were masking some bad fish(week old maybe) with very spicy mayo. Gross.

I order from here all the time, it is straight but nothing special. They do have good spare ribs and usually deliver pretty fast. I’ve tried other Chinese in Southie and it’s been hit or miss, with Teriyaki House pretty much always being«hit». Just don’t expect to have your mind blown.

My intense hunger was the only seasoning that compelled me to eat some of what I ordered here. And while I really hate wasting food, I couldn’t bring myself to finish even 1⁄3 of my order. Based on my own order, I’d give Teriyaki House one star, but since I didn’t try the teriyaki, which my friend ordered and said was decently satisfying when famished, I’m electing to give it 2 stars. The sushi was presented on a cute wooden platform, but the sushi itself was bland and utterly unappealing. The quality of my salmon sashimi was definitely inferior even to supermarket sashimi, and there were visible pressure marks on it. The taste was exactly what I’d imagine a soaked, chilled wad of cotton balls might taste like if it were more fleshy… Then there’s the eggplant. Eggplant is one of my go-to dishes that I love, but their eggplant dish was also subpar. I’m not an amazing cook or anything, but I can whip up some eggplants that taste much, much better.

This place is disgusting! I went in there the other Night for Dinner to go. Here’s what I witnessed …One Worker came out of the Ladies Room still wearing her Rubber Serving Gloves. She never changed them. She went on to handle Food with them on. Another Woman ran her Hand through her Flaky dirty Hair and then handled Food. The Guy at the Grille wiped sweat from his eyebrows then proceeded to handle Food. I truly believe these Employees have total contempt for Americans. This place needs to be inspected.

When I first moved to Southie 6 years ago, I ordered takeout from here quite a bit. It was pretty average, but always tasty. Last night I got delivery for the first time in awhile. Holy terrible. I ended up throwing everything away. Scallion pancakes — these are one of my favorites and while every place makes them a little differently, I usually always like them. These, however were really bad. They’re usually fried, so they’re kind of crispy while being pleasantly chewy, and the scallion/salt ratio makes them super tasty. These were kind of under cooked so they were floppy and soft, like regular pancakes, and had zero flavor. It was like eating a paper plate with scallions mixed in. Spicy tuna roll — these were SMOTHERED in sauce that tasted like spicy buffalo wings. You couldn’t taste anything else. Chicken fried rice — Seriously, how can you mess this up??? It tasted like white rice with no seasoning and flavorless chicken mixed in. I usually err on the more bland side when using salt, so it doesn’t take much for me to like it, but this tasted like nothing. The rice was moist at least, but that was the only good thing. All of it was bad enough that after a few bites, I threw it in the trash. I’m pretty easy to please, so I was extremely disappointed in what I received. I won’t be ordering from here again.

Great food, not overly expensive, yet service is really really really bad. I can’t emphasize enough how bad the service is. They take extremely long to bring you menus and take orders. Only time I prefer to have food from here is if I can pick it up and order take out. That usually minimizes any unpleasant interaction with the staff that barely speak English as it is. You can’t go wrong with: Any teriyaki bowl Any kind of eel dish Popcorn shrimp are amazing And their sushi is respectable. Conclusion: This place has good service but unfortunately if you are not White or Asian; safe to say that you won’t get the kind of service you would like.

It is more spacious than its Broadway counterpart. There is a different atmosphere. You can really sit down and enjoy a meal. The food is great. It has a robust menu of Chinese rice and noodle bowls along with a long list of sushi. I’ve never been disappointed by any of their rice bowls. Their bubble tea is also pretty good considering it’s not something they’re known for. Just a really solid place to grab food in South Boston.

The portions are large enough to share between 2 – 3 people. The place is very hole in the wall but the service was friendly and fast. Their bubble tea, or boba tea, was not very good. Their boba is very stuck together and a bit hard which I hate! The teriyaki chicken was fine but just sort of generic — it didn’t make you want to keep eating and eating. The soup was great though and probably the best part.

I was meaning to try this place for some time since it is only a few blocks away. I made an online order for the maki mono combo which came with a miso soup, California roll, 2 tuna rolls, and a salmon roll for only 16.50. It wasn’t the best quality of sushi but it was decent enough for me to order there again. The service was incredibly slow even though my order was supposed to be ready when I arrived. I winded up waiting for 20 minutes for the sushi to be made. Employees overall seemed very confused when I asked for my order. Will order from here again and look forward to trying a Chinese dish!

Not bad, not great. Nothing special, but nothing terrible, either, other than the insanity with the service and figuring out if and when your order was even accepted, nevermind whether it is ready for you. The hot & sour soup is quite could, but not great. The sushi was«pretty good.» Unremarkable, but not markedly bad.

What can I say??? I’m regular at Teriaki house for years. Since 2005. Good food! Good price! Do not expect service there, because they very busy. It’s kind of weird, but you get used to that some time. Try after a night at the clubs when you get out hungry for some greasy food!!!

Okay, pretty darned good eating in the neighborhood here, open late. Getting back home after 10 pm this place was just the ticket! Big bowl of chicken teriyaki for not even 7 bucks. Staff were friendly too! Probably the most solid square meal(rice, veggies, protein) I’ve eaten since I got to Boston, LOL. Update: went back and had Korean spicy chicken… Not spicy at all but tasty. A bit too greasy. However, the curry crab rangoon was pretty gross.

Have only gotten take out here — 3 times, via Caviar. Have tried the eel, spicy tuna, rainbow, and soft shell crab roll. And the boiled vegetables and brown rice. Very decent sushi, though preparation time seems rather long(could just have been the timing that I ordered). I think the eel sushi roll is the best of all I’ve mentioned there. Nothing wrong with the food, very normal and good for a quick Japanese fix.
