Terrible customer service. I went in to replenish some lip balm called«Lip Care» and the staff on the floor was completely unaware of the product after I described what it looked like, and completely uninterested in my description or what I was seeking. She just kept repeating, «everything we have for lips is right here»(gesturing to shelves) «or here»(gesturing to buckets with lip gloss or something). She was obviously not caring whether she made a sale or even whether she promoted some goodwill. I found it online, and called the store(with the proper name) to ask again. The dismissive rep who answered said, «we’re all out of that.» And nothing about, «we expect to get it in again…» she just couldn’t wait to hang up. Wow, the Body Shop is nothing like it used to be. Poor Anita Roddick would be so disappointed. Won’t be going here again, that’s for sure.

I noticed on their website there was a sale going on today. Since I was in the area anyways, why not stop by and see what goodies I can grab. While I received a lot of attention from the sales associates, it came to a point where I was bombarded nonstop by 3 – 4 workers. I’m the type of shopper that likes to shop in peace and quiet, meaning leave me alone to decide. If I wanted something I would’ve approached a sales person myself. When I finally picked something, I headed to the register to find that nobody was working it. Everyone was too busy trying to sway new customers into a sale. I waited awkwardly for 5−7min eyeing the workers and wondering when I could pay. It’s not all bad though; besides the annoying sales people, the sales were sweet. I got a gift pack of 3 full size face creams for $ 26 valued at double that price. There’s actually a lot of items in here that would make great presents.

Love the products, but the pushy sales staff just leaves me exasperated. I went in to check out some of their post-holiday sales recently and was just nonplussed that FOUR sales people approached me and asked me if I needed any assistance. For the record, the store is not that big. This is just ridiculous. I always try to be nice to sales people but I just had to tell the fourth person that, no, I didn’t need help and THREE people had just asked me. Thank you. I did end up buying some half priced body washes, but the whole shopping experience is just not pleasant.

Wow. First of all. The greeter was very nice and bubbly. She made me feel welcomed to the store and offered me to try some lotion. When I left, she was very friendly and told me to have a good day, even though I didn’t buy anything. A+ to her… That’s the only reason they don’t get one star… I walk in there, knowing what I want to get, body butter. I’m on the phone and a staff member was standing there staring me down, not from afar, right next to me. That was incredibly uncomfortable. After I get off of the phone(she stood and watched me the whole time I was on the phone), she asked me if I needed any help and was very excited about the sells. I appreciated her enthusiasm. At first I said no. But she continued to hover over me. So I asked her some random question since she seemed new. Even though I already knew what I wanted. Then I thanked her for her help in a friendly manner… thus giving her a social cue to leave me alone. She continued to stand next to me just hovering and watching me. That was extremely uncomfortable. So I left… sans oh so fragrant and creamy body butter. That experience was a major FAIL.

I wandered in here on my lunch hour recently, just to poke around and kill time. I wandered out in a daze, $ 60 poorer. I don’t know how it happened, other than a woman assisting me, and pointing out things that are«buy one, get one at 50% off». .. this place is like crack. Must. stay. away. Once I get the products home, I’m so excited to have new nice smelling body washes, lotions, etc. But after I use them several times, and realize that my skin is now breaking out, and the stuff is full of chemicals, I realize I made a terrible mistake.

While I haven’t tried many of their products, I really love their Tea Tree Oil. It is the only thing that works to soothe blemished skin for me. Things here are a bit expensive, but it’s worth it, rather than spending money on crappy skin care products that don’t work and you’ll be wasting your money too. The staff is nice and helpful in explaining their products without being pushy in getting you to buy them.
