The clam chowder and John Hancock burger! I highly recommend both of them for the people staying at the Wyndham. I stayed at the Wyndham for 7 nights, and had good experiences both times I came to eat. I sound like an alcoholic right now, but was pretty disappointed that they don’t serve alcohol early morning. Food and service was still good though!

Claudia has been my waitress the last two times I visited and she has been excellent. Very polite and an overall great waitress. The food is legit. The oatmeal is superb, fruit is sweet & ripe, & orange juice is freshly squeezed. I recommend this place for anyone in the area, especially if you’re staying at the Wyndham.

While living in Beacon Hill, my family and I spent time trying restaurants nearby. The Dean’s List is located inside the Wyndham — Beacon Hill hotel. We ordered two sandwiches, which came with house salad, and one soup. The Boston Light consisted of tempura battered /panko crusted cod on a French roll. We didn’t like that it was not lightly battered but rather extremely deep fried. In addition to the salad, it came with a jalapeño coleslaw. The Student Athlete consisted of house roasted turkey, herb stuffing, and cranberry chutney on a locally imported cranberry pecan bread. I loved this sandwich because it made me nostalgic for Thanksgiving and thus, making it a fall favorite! The house salad consisted of arugula and spring mix blend, tomatoes, and red onions in a balsamic reduction. The salad dressing was a bit tart for me. As for the soup, I don’t recommend their New England Clam Chowder, which was extremely thick, rich, and lacked clam!

Since everything nearby was closed, we stopped into the hotel restaurant to get some coffee and dessert. Ordered the lava cake with vanilla ice cream and a pot of coffee. The service was fast, efficient and friendly. Even when they were about the close, they didn’t rush us out. They allowed us to hang out at our table until we were ready to leave. The lava brownie cake thing was deeeeelicious :) I would eat it again.

The restaurant was very quiet on an early Thursday evening, and all though service was a little slow, the staff were very accommodating and friendly. After spending the week at the Wyndham on a business trip from Oregon, and tasting much of the seafood available in Boston, I figured I would try a steak in this neck of the woods, right where I was staying. The clam chowder was nice, but I have had better on my stay here in Boston. The rib-eye was also a little disappointing. Although cooked a perfect medium rare as asked for, and moist, it lacked much flavor. This I will put down to the fact that it could not have been more than ¾ of an inch thick before it was seared on a hot grill… It had very little seasoning and lacked a sauce of any kind. For the asking price of $ 29.00, I would have expected something a little more memorable. I could have got a better size steak for a fraction of the price back home in Oregon in any diner with a lot more flavor than this one. All in all though, if it’s late and you don’t want to make the 20 minute walk into the North-End(which I highly recommend) then this will do in a synch. I myself though will not be returning if I have better options available to me next time.

During an extended stay at the Wyndham I’ve enjoyed the meatloaf and the turkey dinner special on Thanksgiving day. Both were excellent. Best of all was the apple crisp dessert — it came in a mini skillet and was excellent. Service had been a little slow, but everyone is very friendly and we haven’t been in a hurry. Comfortable and not crowded atmosphere.

I almost didn’t try it based on previous reviews. But I’m at the hotel for an extended stay and have now eaten here several times. The staff couldn’t be friendlier. And the food is good. Just had the turkey dinner and it was very good. Nice drink selection. Prices aren’t bad. And rarely crowded.

The waitress was obviously disinterested in her job. Very impatient with orders. Very poor service. A hefty amount of gratitude for a below average quality.

So with this one I feel a little let down. I understand it’s a new restaurant in a hotel and it will require some time to work out the kinks but I wouldn’t eat here again. The menu sounds good and the conception and description of each meal is very enticing. The problem lies with what happens in between conception and delivery. I just didn’t feel like what I got was what I ordered. Almost like a poor execution or as if it was rushed. We had the English loaded pub chips as a app which were actually pretty good and our favorite part of the meal. I had the athlete sand which which was small and bland. Basically thanksgiving in a sandwich, which is one of my favorite types of sandwiches. The best part of this one was the bread, the rest was mediocre at best. My son had the clam chowder because they only have chicken tenders or grilled cheese for kids. It was your average chowder, it was a big bowl of it though. My mother had there Diner Rib eye plate which is way over priced at $ 29 for what it was. The meat was good but not amazing. The mashed Potatoes were nasty, very gluopy and dry. Not creamy at all, almost like it had no butter, milk or creamer at all in it. And the chef veg of day was your average asparagus. They only had one server so service was extremely slow. The server was very nice and trying their best but one server for 20 – 30 people is crazy. I actually had to walk to the bar to get refills of drinks for our table. We were one of the 1st to be seated and waited for ever from start to finish. Their was a table behind us that got seated 5 or so minutes after us and just got there order taken when we were leaving. NOJOKEATALL. I hope they can fix it because in a town with so many restaurants this one is able to easily get lost in the mix. FYI If your staying at the hotel order room service. Same food from the same restaurant but the room service menu has more options and more kids meal choices but you can’t order any of it from the restaurant for some reason. We asked!!!
