Betty and Dianne are the best. Very friendly and they do an excellent job. I have been getting my haircut by Dianne for the last 4+ years since I moved to the North End, and always leave looking great.

Flew in to Boston this morning for business, and decided I was a bit shaggy for the meetings I have scheduled. Acting on a tip from a good friend, I dropped by for a trim from Dianne. She was incredibly personable and treated me well. My hair looks great — I actually went across the street to pick up some new threads to complement my new look up top. When in Boston, I highly recommend visiting Dianne.

I’ve been having trouble finding a place to get my hair cut in the Boston area. I am pretty picky with who cuts my hair and have only had 2 stylists I have felt comfortable with in the 4 states I have lived in. I stopped in the Gentlemen’s Salon recently and got a solid cut from Diane. She took a good amount of time to do the cut and asked me to show her how I style it so that she could get things right. She also washed my hair beforehand which definitely makes for a cleaner cut versus the barbers who cut dry or with the aid of a spray bottle. She also said they offer free cleanups in between regular cuts.
They charge $ 30, which is reasonable considering the attention to detail and wash.
I enjoyed the feel of the space: tucked away from the crazy parts of the North End, classical music playing, and definitely good personality from both the ladies who work there. They have a nice waiting area with a comfortable leather couch and good reading material. I will be back again. If they keep it up I might bump up my rating!

I am a new customer. A great haircut and very friendly service! Dianne did a great job cuttin my hair which can be tricky to cut, which she noticed right away. Dianne has been curtting hair for 25+ years and appears to know a ton of people in town, which makes for great conversation.

When Betty cuts my hair, I feel brand new again. She knows what looks good for your hair type and head shape. She is so good she could probably cut your hair with her eyes closed.
