Sooo yummy I’m so happy that I found this place on Unilocal. They made the best waffle and the best wings that I’ve ever had. Barely any wait time food was great.

If you love chicken & waffles, you need to go here. My favorite part is that this place opens till 4 am on the weekend. Everytime I’ve been here, the food is extremely hot, which is a huge plus. The waffles are extremely fluffy, but sometimes they are soggy because of too much butter. The chicken tenders are AMAZING& super moist. There’s also a lot of different sauces to choose from. This place makes the best french fries though.

The Hen House is surely the spot for a 2am Chicken and Waffle binge! Staff is certianly patient with the mad rush in the late hours of the night, and the food comes out pretty quick! For a twist, try the spicy Mac and Cheese, its out of this world! The fried chicken has that crazy home cookin breading, and goes soooo good with maple syrup! It won’t break the bank, but maybe the belt… not too much on the healthy side at this spot.

Love/Hate relationship with this place. Some times I love it & some times I hate it. I love me a good plate of chicken & waffles, & most times I get a soggy waffle. I don’t know if that’s because I usually take it to go or not, but still it shouldn’t be like that. I do like that the place has verity with ribs & other things, & is open late on the weekends. Solid for late night meal.

This place is just ok… I wouldn’t go back for chicken even though it’s a «hen house» I feel like the chicken should be the star of this place and it’s not… Not the fried chicken anyway. I haven’t had the rotisserie, so I can not speak for that. The wings are just ok… Nothing special and not good enough for me to want to get again. The extra crispy fried chicken I got with my waffle was horrible. It lacked flavor and was overly fried, almost like they threw already fried chicken back into the fryer. It wasn’t edible. The waffle was delicious. The ribs are really good! I’d go back for those no doubt… and they’re smashed potatoes are really good too… Lots of great flavor they should also put into the chicken! They have a really large menu, which can make it tough to really specialize and focus on the chicken. I think that might be the problem.

I don’t care what you say, this is the best food in Boston. I love chicken and waffles and the staff is always friendly and the service is incredibly fast! Not to mention all the syrup and hot sauce you could want??? I recommend hella regular syrup, the maple bbq is craaaazzzyyy(if you eat the chicken and waffle together with the regular syrup… I ramble because it’s delicious… forgive me), and the firecracker sauce is perfect hot sauce. Anything and everything on this menu will get you pretty hype about this place, to be honest. But I love their collard greens and cornbread, that’s comfort food at its finest. I am stoked. Going right now.

If there were half stars, this would be 3.5. Bumping to 4 because the service was very good and it feels wrong to give 3 stars. It’s nothing that will amaze you, but there are some solid options here. Everything is just SLIGHTLY off. The sweet potato fries are good but just not great. The cole slaw was good, but had a slightly dark color. The rotisserie chicken tasted«good» but looked a little off. Still interested in trying some other items.

I’ve heard about this place and driven by it more times than I can count. Finally, two friends and I decided to try it out last night after work — Monday evening about 6:30 pm Pros: Cheap, decent, extensive menu, ample seating, off street parking Cons: Location not ideal, dim lighting, lacked flavor We all got the chicken and waffles but there’s an extensive menu including everything from pizza to subs to chicken and waffles and everything in between. Much more than you’d expect and way too much for anything to really stand out. Flag #1. The place was empty, the lighting and décor dim at best. Dining and bathroom clean but again lighting inside and out was dim. Flag #2. My buttermilk waffle was soft and a bit soggy in the center. No crisp edges, flavor was okay. Chicken wings were fried well done but they lacked even the most basic seasoning. Kind of bland. Whipped butter was okay. A variety of syrup choices available but their presentation left ALOT to be desired. Just out on the counter in their bulk store containers with pumps attached. Flag #3. Would I go out of my way to go again? Probably not.

Great waffles! This is kind of a famous spot because it’s open late(until 4 am) on the weekends and they make pretty decent food. The only downside is that after the clubs close everyone goes there to get their hangover food so it can get a little crazy with tons of people there. They also deliver which is a nice perk.

I was in the mood for something quick and hearty since I work late. I ordered of course the chicken and waffles except I got tenders instead of wings. This place def needs new management or a new revamp Restaurant 911 to the rescue please. The waffle was not crispy on edges or anything. It was soggy and no real good flavor its like the pancake mix add water please. The tenders were white and meaty but too thick to call tenders. Where was the crispy skin? When you think of Chicken and waffles you think of places fown south or a good soul food place ahhhh no it was neither of that. The sauces were right out of the jar not very presentable or clean. The whole placed looked dirty and dim. There was a security guard there who was sittin on his ass in a chair bored to death there just for a job. Probably there for the after club Ratchets smh. Management needs to present it better or shut it down just saying !

Place comes in clutch, late night when all the other spots are closed in boston. They need to tighten up on those waffles though last three times it came out soggy. The chicken was good though but how can you mess up fried chicken. Two and a half stars.

They really just gave me burnt chicken… Just cause I’m black doesn’t mean I like my meat super well done … I’m so not in the mood to drive all the way back to hen house so they can fix this… Ugh I’m afraid to eat this

I ordered the buffalo chicken mac n cheese which was disrespectfully disgusting. The two employees working looked super sketchy! The space is large. When I walked in there was a table of guys eating what look like SUPER dry chicken. That should’ve been my que to run back out. Unfortunately I paid the $ 10 for the pasta and I was on my way to a different location for food within minutes. Yuck. Never again.

I’ve gone to a ton of Boston restaurants that serve chicken and waffles. I have to say Hen House is one of the top contenders. This place is not only cheap but the food is very good! I particularly like their corn waffles! They’re even good the next day when you pop them in your toaster! The bone-in chicken is just okay for me but their chicken tenders is where its at! those are thick, tender and juicy! The sweet potato fries are good too, but im usually beyond full with just eating half of my chicken and waffles. I’ve always eaten here sober but I cant imagine if i wasnt! Either way, this place is a must try if you’re a chicken & waffles girl like me!

Chicken and waffles = A great cheat treat. Long waits. When you walk in you will have to deal with a line, fortunately you’ll have enough time to study the menu till its time to order. The chicken and waffle menu has a 4 separate decal spelling out a equation; pick your waffle flavor + butter flavor + chicken flavor = your perfect chicken waffle combo. Their sweet potato fries are steak cut, crunchy on outside, flavorful & a great side for your meal. Def glad I got to try this place out. Despite the large quantity of tables/chairs I didn’t feel like enjoying my meal in house. You’d have to be your own judge. Def recommend the food.

Really good Philly steak and cheese wraps. The inside could use a little décor, but the food is awesome. It’s right next to the American Red Cross food pantry, so whenever I volunteer there I sometimes grab me a bite to eat from here for lunch.

OK… I’ve passed this«Waffles and Wings» so many times… I had to try it. Service is atrocious. I waited while the guy behind the counter carried on personal side conversation with a young lady. When I tried to get his attention he either ignored me or thought his personal conversation was more important. …and then it took forever to get the food. Wings were good. Ribs were OK… a «slab» of ribs is 1 rib. The«popcorn shrimp» was awful. Any questions private message me.

For chicken and waffles, this place is pretty cheap. Late night menu: $ 9 for a buttermilk waffle, a thigh, a drum, and as much sauce as your heart desires. The location itself is a shithole. I wouldn’t bring anyone here if I could help it, so took the meal to go. The chicken had a good standard flavor while the waffle was softer than I would have liked. Didn’t have high hopes for this place, but considering the money and locale, it was decent. It is great junk food if you want something greasy late at night.

Occasionally I feel the need to consume food so blatantly unhealthy that I know one single meal will shorten my lifespan by a noticeable increment. HOWEVER, the catch is that the meal must be so delicious, so enjoyable, that I don’t care. This is where Hen House misses the boat. By a long shot. First of all, I think we ended up getting our food(ordered via GrubHub) about an hour later than promised. Argh. Then, the food itself seemed subpar. We were actually so hungry by that point that no one really seemed to complain, but the wings and tenders were bland and we hadn’t realized they came with dipping sauce rather than being coated with the sauce/seasoning. The mac ‘n’ cheese and potato skins were somewhere between meh and good. The waffle fries were a highlight, but really, if you mess up waffle fries… wait, is that even possible? One plus: cheap. Big portion sizes. If you can stomach it, it’s leftover city. Five of us couldn’t eat more than half of the $ 60 worth of food we ordered. It was fun to order in something other than our usual pizza, but the hunt for perfect Dorchester take-out continues.
