If your in Boston and want a great spot for a date. Here it is! Make sure you get a table to impress since you will get a great view. Wait: There is a wait. lol. If your going at popular time be prepared to wait in line since they do not allow people to aimlessly chill around the bar anymore. But its worth it! However they allowed me to go in even though there were no seats at the bar so we were still hovering over people. Drinks: All drinks here I would definitely recommend. My last drink was a Glenfiddich and it was super strong, super good. Overall though you can’t go wrong with any drinks. Dessert: Once again if you come to Boston try the Boston Crème Pie because it will be a soft textured dessert that you will melt in your mouth. Overall: Great spot to be on a date — I overheard this dude talking to this college girl the whole time and please make sure you don’t talk about how your life is like the show friends b/c all I saw was her face getting bored. lol sorry not sorry.

Went to have a drink and Check this place out. Overall experience was good. The view was beautiful, but we really couldn’t see it from the bar area. The bar area was in the center of a room, with the actual bar blocking our view of the city. Only those sitting down for food around the perimeter of the restaurant had a clear view. It isn’t somewhere that I was dying to sit down and eat so was slightly disappointed at the layout. Thought the ambiance would be worth paying a bit more for drinks but it wasn’t as expected.

A restaurant with a gorgeous view of Boston, but their food is mediocre/under average. You’re definitely paying for the view here. Is it worth it? I’m not sure. Maybe if you have a out-of-city guest and want to show him/her a nice view of the city, a cocktail or two will be okay here. Atmosphere and service: Romantic and elegant. Service is good. Bartender was very friendly and attentive. Brunch menu: They have a pre fixe brunch menu for $ 42 per person. Yogurt with fruit and granola — just okay. Nothing special. Shrimp & Grits — shrimp was well cooked. Plump and delicious. But the brown sauce was way too salty. Poached egg with chorizo — the worst item on the menu! Poached egg was overcooked, it just just hard boiled egg basically. Chorizo was blah. I ended up just eating the asparagus and grilled bell peppers. Red velvet cupcake — tasted like those cupcakes brought from a supermarket. Far from what you’ll expect from a high-end restaurant.

Thought about going to the Skywalk Observatory, but didn’t feel like paying $ 18 for the ticket«just» to wander the floor and see an amazing view. Then saw that the Skywalk Lounge /Top of the Hub was two stories higher than the observatory and cocktails were $ 14 each — so, $ 4 less and I got a drink and a seated view. The view from here is almost equally as beautiful as the observatory. You have to be buying entrees to be seated in the best viewing area, but the view is still pretty comparable from the bar or from the«lounge» side of the restaurant. They had THEBEST tuna tartare appetizer I’ve ever had and I loved their diverse cocktail menu. I’d say that stopping here for a drink and appetizer(and the view) is a MUST when coming to Boston.

The interior is beautiful and the whole going up the elavators to get to the restaurant was quite nice. However, if you are going as a group of 2, you are likely to be seated away from the window. The tables that are next to the window are rather big. That was my case so I was a little dissappointed. The lighting inside is perfect though. The food is very food and beautifully decorated, but still overpriced. It was one fun time experience though.

We went for a 7pm reservation on Wednesday night. The atmosphere was so beautiful and we were able to get the window seat that we asked for :) our waiter was extremely kind and attentive and we had a great time talking to her! The bacon wrapped scallops are a winner for appetizers! The swordfish was my entrée and loved the Mediterranean flavors of my dish. My boyfriend got the broth and although I thought it was nice and savory, he wish he had tried something else. The chocolate cake was extremely decadent but such a nice touch to the night! The waiter put a candle and a congratulations chocolate on the cake– SOKINDOFHER! We couldn’t finish the whole thing but we almost did! And of course, the view was spectacular. We went went the sun was still out and watched the sunset as the sun went down. Definitely go at least once, especially for a nice date :)

My boyfriend & I celebrated our anniversary here & Top of the Hub successfully accommodated that. We were actually able to get a table with a view as I had requested when I made my reservation(since they do indicate that these tables are not guaranteed). The complimentary bread was cold & hard. The food was great; portions were just right. They had a decent selection of drinks. The waitress was able to accommodate my nut allergy when it came to dessert & they even prepared our desserts for us with candles and«Happy Anniversary» chocolates in them. I give this place 4-Stars for its excellent service & accommodation. I took off one star because they did a horrible job with packing up my leftovers. which ended up leaking through the bag and all over my dress.

Came here for a private party dinner so my service experience may be somewhat different than a regular dining patron. The Top Of The Hub restaurant is located on the 52nd floor but the private space was on the 50th floor, which is also where The Skywalk is located. The view was amazing! So was the food! We started off with Jonah Lump Crab Cake, which was soft and delicious. It came with a sweet Dijon sauce — can’t really taste the mustard though it had the yellow coloring of it. There was a small side of Italian-seasoned tomatoes, olives, and capers. This was okay — I like the saltiness of the olives and capers, but I felt that the Italian season ing was too much, which I could taste on the tomatoes. Next we had the Spinach Salad with walnuts, pears, goat cheese, port wine lemon vinaigrette. Yum! Would’ve loved to have so much more of this. This dish’s taste is more on the sweet side. The roasted honey walnuts were so good! I felt the salad was a bit over-dressed but I really enjoyed it. The tenderloin and scallops were perfectly cooked. Nice medium rare, and tender scallops. But tasted on point with the gravy sauce. Came with some asparagus, mashed potatoes, and baby carrots. The prime sirloin, which my brothers had, was also perfectly cooked and delicious. This also came with some asparagus, carrots, and mashed potatoes. Service was very attentive and friendly. Again, I came here for a private party so maybe service stepped up its game.

I brought my boyfriend and his sister here the other night for a drink. I’ve dined here before with my family and wasn’t really thrilled with dinner here. The drinks on the other hand are great! I think you pretty much pay for the scenery with dining in, to be honest. When I was here Thursday night we sat at the lounge by the window near the stage with the piano. It was wonderful, they had this duo that was singing and playing the piano and taking requests and they both sounded amazing! I requested for them to sing All of Me(mine & my bf’s song) The view was breathtaking! I would definitely come back for a night cap, but not dining.

This is a limited review since I did not eat here. Top of the Hub is a restaurant and bar 82 floors up in the Prudential Center, and a couple of floors above the Skywalk Observatory. After spending some time in the observatory, we decided to come up here for a cocktail, and it was worth the trip. The only drawback to Top of the Hub is that it wasn’t designed as well as it could have been. When you come up from the elevator, you will see that dining tables line the windows on all 4 sides. There is a bar, but the bar is set back from the windows with tables behind it, so that if you just want to sit at the bar and enjoy a drink and the view, you cannot because the bar is there. I understand why this was done — you want to give your tables the best view — but it would have been nice had they left a small section — maybe a wrap around bar — so that at least some of your happy hour patrons can also enjoy the view. As it stands, there are signs everywhere advising guests that the dining area is not an observation deck and that you cannot stand around the tables. They do have a small lounge area with couches where you can get a partial view. However, the area by the windows is set aside for a stage for their lounge singer. Again, a nice touch, but it seems like if you’re not eating, you’re not welcome to a premium view. That said, the lounge area does offer you the opportunity to have a drink high above the city, listen to some music(the lounge singer was very good), and enjoy the view you can get. After all, they are floor to ceiling windows, so even if you’re not right up against them, you can still see large parts of the city. It reminded me a bit of Atlanta — I think its the Westin Hotel, downtown, that has the rotating restaurant and lounge at the top floor. There, too, the window seats are reserved for the dining guests, but bar patrons can get a good view, though set back a bit from the windows. Similarly, here, you can have a wonderful drink(did I mention the drinks were excellent? No? The drinks were excellent) listen to some laid back music, and watch the city come alive at night far below.

Top of the Hub is one of my favorite restaurants! It is located at the top of the Prudential Tower. The view overlooking the city of Boston is absolutely breathtaking. It is a beautiful view during the day or at night, but it is especially gorgeous during the sunset! Restaurants with views like this usually do not need to have great food. People are typically willing to attend and pay for the view alone. Although the view is breathtaking, the food is just as excellent. I have had several dinners at Top of the Hub, and I have always been beyond impressed! The soup, appetizers, entrees, desserts and cocktails are all delicious. I definitely recommend the spicy lobster bisque as a starter. It’s among the best I’ve ever had. My favorite entrees are: the filet mignon, the two-pound stuffed lobster(definitely recommend splitting that meal), and the grilled sea bass over tomato risotto. As for appetizers, I love the duck confit with goat cheese and balsamic, the Lobster Pepper Bombs and the Yellowfin Tuna Tartare. Their dessert menu is always full of great options. I’m a huge fan of their Boston Cream Pie. It is beautifully presented and absolutely divine! I recently tried their freshly baked cookie platter– phenomenal! The cookies were fresh out of the oven and literally melted in our mouths. We always have excellent service at Top of the Hub. The servers are pleasant and professional. The innovative menu options, beautiful view and elegant atmosphere make it a great place to go for a celebratory meal.

Came here for desert and drinks so I can’t vouch for there lunch or dinner menu. However, the view here at night is fantastic. Very beautiful and romantic. It is a great place to take a date or to have a nice girls night out. Important to note: There is a $ 24.00 minimum for the inside dining room area. We came here at 11pm on a Saturday night and it wasn’t that crowded anymore. I assume during prime time it must be very full and you might need a reservation. If you want a view, make sure to ask for a window seat because if you sit near the inside of the restaurant, you won’t be able to see much. They had live music going until midnight. The singer had a beautiful voice and sang a variety of genres from popular pop songs to old classics. The pianist was amazing as well. After they left, it was just regular music from the speakers. We each got a drink and a desert. I had the Banana Foster Martini which was pretty strong but it was good. Tasted like the Korean drink Banana Milk. I got a Cinnamon Apple Marscapone Cheese toast. The toast was a little thick but the apple slices were well flavored. It wasn’t as hot as I expected. It came with a side of apple sorbet which was made with real apples and it was delicious. My friend had a mango punch? I thought it was nice and fruity but my friend didn’t like it. Her crème brûlée was very good. Crunchy sugar top with sweet pudding center. Good place for the environment!

The bar service here is terrible. If we did not say anything, they would have never came up to us and greeted us. We gave them about 20 minutes for them to come over and give us a drink menu. After 20 minutes, they still haven’t given us a drink menu so we just asked for it. Then they never even came back to ask us what would we like to drink. Again, we have to call them over after a good 10 minutes. Bar service is horrible. It wasn’t even busy at the bar. They were making drinks for tables, but that wasn’t much either. Boston cream pie was good though. It was delicious and light.

Food and service, just normal. We ordered the scallops, swordfish and seafood stew, and all of them are decent but not special. The spinach salad is the same as you order from any restaurants, and size is just smaller. The lobster bisque is cold and too creamy, and I would not recommend. The price is worthy for the view of Boston, and try to reserve a table next to the window earlier. Maybe just order a cocktail and few snacks next time here.

Top of the Hub is located in the Prudential Center, on the very top. It is definitely a beautiful place, with a knock out view. My only issue was the wait. There were two lines, one for dining and the other for the bar. We were there for drinks and to check out the view. Now, I understand they don’t want to over crowd the place, but waiting over an hour and a half in a line that wasn’t long enough to justify the wait really had me frustrated. Also the hostess skipped us and let people behind us in and it wasn’t until we said something that she realized she should just wait till there are 5 places and let us in. She also somehow forgot we had been in the front of the line for over an hour staring at her, that when the time came to let us up she asked the group behind us if they were actually in front of us. After the wait, when we got upstairs I was really impressed. The place is perfect for a date night. Definitely a romantic spot. The bartenders were really friendly and quick to tend to our drink orders. I had a delicious old fashioned. My friend also ordered a Boston cream pie from their dessert menu that was so delicious I almost ate her whole dessert(oops). It really is a note worthy dessert. I didn’t take a look at the food menu, but the drinks were definitely on point and the service upstairs was great. Also, they have an observation room on the 50th floor that is open till about 10pm.

This place wasn’t as easy to find as I expected, but figured it out. Went on a early Tuesday evening, there were only a few people around and I easily found a spot at the bar. Wasn’t planning to eat here but found myself starving once I sat down. Had a spinach salad and clam chowder. Both were decent, maybe a bit less dressing on the salad. Chowder had lots of clams and good flavor. The view is spectacular and worth hanging out to get a drink. I thought the view was better in the restaurant than the bar.

We had to wait An hour and a half to visit the bar. The drinks were somewhat pricey($ 15 – 16) each but you’re definitely paying for the view of the city. I just wish you could see the view better from the bar. The live band was really good. The best part was the Boston Crème pie. OMG. Id wait in the line just for that.

I had a fantastic experience eating at Top of the Hub. Yes it is a pricey restaurant but, I think the quality of food, service and view make it well worth it. The waiters are on point! I wish I remembered the name of the waiter we had. He was super professional, and offered us things before we even thought to ask. Two examples of this: First, he asked if we wanted our picture taken, which I thought was really nice because it’s awkward to ask. Second, my boyfriend and I ordered a crab cake appetizer to split. Without us even asking, the waiter told the kitchen to split it into two smaller crab cakes and put it on two different plates. That is some fantastic customer service if you ask me. For dinner, my bf and I both got steak which was also delicious. It was cooked perfectly and seemed to just melt in my mouth. This isn’t somewhere I’d go every week for dinner(who can afford that?), but it’s perfect for special occasions and we will definitely be back.

Top of the Hub is my favorite spot to bring family and friends to when it’s their first time visiting Boston. The view alone cannot be beat. On the 52 floor of the Prudential Tower, Top of the Hub gives you breathtaking views of Boston and the surrounding areas. If you don’t want to spend a lot of money, you can come up and grab a drink and still enjoy the view. I’ve done this many times, because it’s cheaper than the SkyWalk and you always get to enjoy a good beverage. But I did have lunch here for the first time the other day. We were seated right away but only offered a limited menu(bit of a bummer but oh well). I ordered the Caesar salad. For $ 11, it was a little on the smaller side but once again, you are paying for the view. Our waitress was a little standoffish — whereas the rest of the staff were very friendly. I’ll keep bringing visitors back for the view — more so than for the food.

It’s funny… Having lived in the Boston area for most of my life, I’m used to heading to the trendier, newer, restaurants that everyone is talking about. Sometimes, it’s worth visiting the old mainstays because they bring a level of expertise to dining that the newer places lack. The Top of the Hub is a spot that my family frequented when I was a child, but I haven’t been to in about 18 – 20 years. We decided to go there for an early dinner before a show, and could not have had a better experience. We were seated near the corner of the building, so were surrounded by incredible views of Boston and Cambridge. You can’t help but feel like a little kid when you’re up that high, and it feels like you’re looking at your city through a microscope. It’s pretty cool. Our server was great, too. She was polished, professional, and attentive. The atmosphere inside also looks updated and trendy(a far cry from how I remember the place in the early 90’s!). As far as the food is concerned, it was top notch. I opted for the 3-course prix fixe menu and got the duck tagliatelle, the short ribs, and crème brule. All courses were far above average. My fellow diner got the clam chowder and a steak. Both of us were immensely happy with our meals. Overall, don’t pass this place up just because it’s an older joint. It’s worth going to for a special occasion. I’d make a reservation well in advance and ask for a window seat. It’s well worth it!

Thank you Unilocal for cluing me into the suggestion that I skip the observation deck fees and spend that on a drink here instead. Same view, but with the added ambiance and libations that solidifies this positive review before the dinner even starts. We were seated right away and even managed to snag a table right by the window. But to be honest, there doesn’t seem to be a bad seat in the place. Service was friendly, but there were a few times I wondered where our server had disappeared to. Live music playing, dim lighting, gorgeous view, this is a win if you ever want a romantic spot to take your honey. Drinks were very tasty. We ordered the fried calamri and a lobster roll for dinner. This is where most of my problems lay. The appetizer wasn’t in the fryer long enough, so it had a raw flour taste in the batter. The lobster roll was a great house made split top bun and overflowing, but there was sooo much celery. Good dressing though, and fresh lobster, so thank you. Ultimately, I suggest you come here for drinks before dinner, or dessert after. Enjoy your meal elsewhere.

I love bars/restaurants high up that give you a view of the city you’re in so, obviously, when I saw Top of the Hub I made a note to go there. Tell you the truth I was disappointed… if you don’t get a table next to the windows you don’t really get to enjoy the view. Unless you walk over, almost intruding on the guests seating on those tables(which I refrained from doing). Also, I really just wanted a drink, but the bar was overly full and to sit, they made it seem as if we had to order food. I asked for«lounge» seating and they pointed at the line already forming line and told me I had to wait minimum and hour. No Thank You! It was a little after 2pm when we arrived. They told us they had a limited menu — I guess it’s the one that transitions between lunch and dinner. Some good options there but all overpriced for what they are. Calamari, flatbread, burger… We opted for the flatbread to share. It was ok. Drinks — we were both disappointed with ours. My friend ordered a Berry Mojito and said it was so sweet it was like drinking sugar. I would have sent that back immediately. I chose the Pumpkin Martini. No pumpkin flavor at all, it tasted(and looked) as if I was drinking milk with vodka. Don’t order it! Since we shared the flatbread, and didn’t even drink half our drinks, we had room for dessert. The Almond Chocolate cake is huge, and even though it wasn’t amazing, it was the best thing we had here. The ice cream it comes with is delicious but too little of a serving for the size of the cake. Then add to it that the dessert alone was $ 18, I felt robed… If you just want to see the view, step out the elevator on the 50th floor and pay for the Skywalk Observatory, it’s less money than what we wasted on the restaurant, and you’ll have pictures to show for it. I feel bad giving it just two stars, it is a nice place but, again, unless you’re lucky to get the right seating, it’s just not worth it.

A place to go because of the view, but not because of the food. The environment of the restaurant was more on the upscale, so I would suggest not wearing sweatpants or casual clothing to this place. For lunch, they were laid back, but I heard for dinner, they are stricter about the attire. We arrived for lunch right when they opened, so we did not have to make a reservation, but it is highly recommended to make one before you come here. We were placed right next to the window that showed the view, which was really nice for us. However, I did notice some of the other tables are not directly seated next to the table and some might not have a great view as ours. The food was basic and can be found at any other restaurant, which I was pretty disappointed by, but it was pretty good. My cousin ordered«Caesar Salad with Chicken» and I ordered«Grilled Angus Burger». The portion of the salad was big and my cousin couldn’t finish it, even though we were pretty hungry and the burger was pretty common. The pretzel bread and the sauce they put inside the burger were my favorite parts of the burger. Maybe I should have ordered something a little fancier, however this place was already as expensive as it is.

We spent New Year’s Eve there. Unfortunately our experience was all but good. The place has a view to die for and it seems(or pretends) to be an upscale restaurant but nothing that we ate was worth what we paid for it. Our dinner was a prix fixe menu with various options. As starter, we all had some oysters served on a bed of salt with some tomatoes on top. As far as the presentation goes, the result was pretty poor, but this was the leitmotiv of the night. One of my oysters was very dry and overall not very tasty. Not to mention the disputable choice of putting some tomatoes on an oyster! Then we had to choose between a soup of mushrooms and a Belgian endive and pepper-cress salad. One of us had the soup, which was very milky and garlicky. The rest of us opted for the salad that was, as you might notice from the picture attached, pretty boring. Zero presentation and it lacked flavor. It looked as if all the ingredients were just tossed onto the plates. Later we had a choice of fricassee of lobsters & scallops and Mapplebrook burratini. I tasted the fricassee which was decent, but once again it lacked in its presentation. As for the burratini, I’m still wondering who serves that on New Year’s Eve? The burratini tasted like mozzarella cheez whiz and if that was any sorta of burratini I am Donald Trump. I am Italian and I know what a burrata or mozzarella taste like. Nonetheless, the best hasn’t come yet. The main course was a choice of sea bass, duck breast or beef tenderloin. Unfortunately our server informed us that they had run out of the first two and that they had been replaced by swordfish and pork chops. How is it possible that they ran out of two of their three main dishes?!? It seems to me that it is a clear sign of poor planning. Anyway, the beef tenderloin was the only good dish they served – the meat was tender and juicy, but I didn’t go there to eat a steak. If I had, I would have opted for a better one. The dessert was a trio of chocolate tart(good), poached mini pear(also good), and a pomegranate mouse(not so good). I won’t return there!

We got seats by the windows! Hellooooooo Boston, from 52 stories up high! We came during a weekend afternoon in our sneakers(walk-in) and was told of a 15 minute wait. Within 5 minutes, our table was ready and we were given drink and food menus. The staff and servers were exceptionally friendly(I was expecting an upscale place like this to be snobby but that was not the case at all). Pretty sweet view of Boston and tasty cocktails. The drinks are $ 14 – 16, which is a steal considering how it comes with the view. I got their Cosmo and they left me with the extra alcohol in the shaker so I ended up with more than 1 drink! We were full from lunch and didn’t feel pushed to order any food. But we did see that they have a $ 42 three course pre-fixe(lunch?) menu(with 10 oz steak listed as possible entrée) so we’re coming back for you, Hub!

This place is a little overrated. The food was just ok, and the drinks were not great. After appetizers, we were ready to leave but our server told us that we Had to order an entrée. Not the best customer service. First, I was already irritated that I had placed a reservation well in advance and asked for a window table, and I ended up being seated at a table in the middle of the restaurant. When requesting a window table once I got to the restaurant, I was told it would be 1.5 hour wait. The view was amazing, but I would not come back.

Top of the Hub is a restaurant filled with inconsistencies. If you look at my last review, I gave this place a harsh 1, a rating that I very, very rarely give. After the manager gave me an apologetic call, I decided to give it a second chance. VIEW — 5STARS. Thanks to its prime real estate, Top of the Hub has hands down the most beautiful views of Boston. No matter which side of the restaurant you sit on, the view is nothing short of breathtaking. While you can’t request window seating, making a reservation a month ahead of time will increase your chances. SERVICE — Eh, pretty average. Our waters were always filled, so I have no complaints, but don’t expect an attentive Michelin starred quality service. Our waiter didn’t bother to introduce us to the specials on the menu or recommend any of the wines. FOOD — Okay, this is where Top of the Hub is just flat out inconsistent. I would highly recommend the crab cake for an appetizer and the warm chocolate cake with ginger ice cream for dessert. Both are outstanding. The duck confit pappardelle was quite the hit at our table, but it was borderline too salty for me. For our mains, our group ordered a variety of steak, pork chop, seafood fra diavolo, and chicken pasta. The meats were rather tough; my medium steak ended up very much well done; meat was hidden under an overwhelmingly sweet sauce, so sweet that I could not appreciate the meat. I love steak that melts in my mouth, hence why I ordered the veal, but this just didn’t have the effect. The fra diavolo sauce on the other hand tasted like regular tomato sauce, no spice or complexity of any sort. Go to the North End for better variations of this dish. There was a generous portion of lobster meat and mussels, so that was nice. Lastly, the chicken pasta was so ordinary and definitely not worth the $ 28 price tag. In summary, Top of the Hub is a beautiful place to take someone special out to for a celebration. But for the price, the majority of the food is simply not worth it. Next time I come back, I will stick to the drinks and dessert and the crab cake appetizer.

I’ve been here several times so I can honestly say this belongs to those hit or miss categories. I’m agreeing with a majority of reviews. The view and ambiance is pretty spectacular, which is the only reason I can think of to dine here. I guess it’s the experience you pay for! The food however, is sub par. It is really not up to the expected standard for an establishment of the sort, but I presume one’s individual standards might be different from mine, so you be the judge… Upon my last visit… Apps — Barry Scallops, decent, well seasoned, good sauce, nice presentation, Only comes with 2! Caesar salad, average size, Make sure you ask for dressing on the side!(I usually get the tartare, delicious!) Entrees — «Special» 12 ounce sirloin(medium rare) with mashed potatoes and asparagus, it was not cooked to my preference, it was medium well, very tough, couldn’t chew it, both the steak and the asparagus were also burnt! sent it back and next one was cooked perfectly but was overwhelmingly salty, didn’t want to send it back a second time so I waved the flag and just took it home. Filet Mignon, it was perfectly cooked and seasoned to perfection, side of gnocchi was a nice touch. Drinks — Ginger Lemondrop, excellent option, tastes like a lemondrop shot with a touch of ginger. The Ruby Manhattan, I only wished it was stronger! Service — Always exceptional! They goofed up our reservations but we were promptly seated. We actually called the day prior but I guess the person on the phone never added our name. Mario, who I believe is the name of our waiter did a fabulous job! He was attentive and friendly. He was apologetic for my overcooked meal and brought me complimentary clam chowder. Good thing I didn’t order it as I was planning too! It was awful! The consistency was not creamy or thick at all. It was literally watered down potato soup. He was also training a new waitress. Didn’t catch her name but she was lovely as well.

Food trucks around Boston give this place a run for their money food/drink wise which is a total bummer because 1. how hard is it to get a rock star chef to work at a place with a great ambiance with killer views while charging outrageous amounts for at best mediocre plates and 2. why not try to bust some butt and make this place really impressive. We had a reservation which thankfully got us through the steel gates in the lobby only to have to wait 10 – 15 minutes past our reservation time after checking in with the extremely ditzy hostess. We were seated by the window as we had requested in the reservation which was stunning overlooking the south end. We sat for 15 minutes with the menu’s our cranky«showed us to our table» hostess left us with – no water nor bread. Finally, we flagged a server down and made it clear we were ready to order. Skipped apps – they looked beyond boring/pedestrian and opted for the swordfish and 10oz bone-in steak. The swordfish was an odd cut of the fish, lackluster, bland and pretty flavorless not to mention that the currants were hard!!! A divey Greek place somewhere else in town could have topped this version with little effort. The steak with gnocchi was overcooked and they forgot a steak knife which literally took the server the whole meal to bring after we asked. He said it was difficult to find one. Both portions were very small especially for an almost $ 40 per plate price tag. Dessert was a cold chocolate molten cake(which needed 10-minutes to make only to come out cold) and a ginger ice cream which thankfully was excellent. The live music and views were the best part, however, turn that ladies mic down! It was clear throughout the dining room that everyone was annoyed — no one could hear each other at any of the tables. Although – I guess if you’re on a horrible date, it’s great, no need nor way to communicate at all. Lastly – we opted to pay in cash after hearing horror stories from other Unilocal Elites about the audacious and extremely unprofessional behavior of the management and staff here. It was a solid choice. If you must go, my advice is to go for a drink, pay cash, take a photo and get out of here!

I’ve had several amazing business dinners at the Top of the Hub. The breathtaking views of the Boston city skyline are guaranteed to impress your clients! I recommend making reservations if you want a table next to the window. We usually grab a martini at the bar before dinner. The bartenders makes an excellent Lemon Drop Martini! Drink slowly!!! The martinis taste innocent, but I got a little tipsy after drinking just one. The food at the Top of the Hub is amazing! I love the filet mignon with potato gnocchi. The Caesar is good, but the spicy lobster soup with coconut milk, lemongrass, and ginger is amazing so order the soup instead of the salad as your starter. I have unfortunately never saved room for dessert. If you don’t want to break the bank just grab a cocktail at the bar. I promise the view and the martinis will not disappoint!

It was my first time visiting Boston and I decided to give this place a try since my hotel is conveniently connected to the restaurant through the mall. I made reservations and was told that formal attire was required. I followed the rules and wore a dress and flats. I was riding the elevator to the 52nd floor and there was a gentleman wearing a baseball cap, tennis shoes, and a jacket. I heard the manager tell him that he was not allowed to dine in because of his attire and that he would have to come back another time. Our waiter took a while to come to our table. In the mean time, we thought we would enjoy the view but we came on a very foggy day. I couldn’t see outside the window. It was as if I was trapped inside a cloud. We ordered French Onion Soup which was poorly presented. The soup was dripping out of the bowl onto the plate and it was too cheesy. I ordered the seafood cioppino and it was alright. I wasn’t even full afterwards and it was a whopping $ 28. Very unsatisfying. This is where it gets worse. I had to flag down the waiter to get the dessert menu. I asked for the Boston Cream Pie and Warm Chocolate Cake. Simple, right? A few moments later, someone hands us the Warm Chocolate Cake and Crème Brulee. I told him that we didn’t order the Crème Brulee so he took it back. We ate the Warm Chocolate Cake which was disgusting. It was around $ 11 and it was awful. Then, the waiter comes and gives us the Crème Brulee for a SECONDTIME and I was furious. I told him that we didn’t order that and I needed the Boston Cream Pie. What part of my dessert order was so complicated? I only asked for 2 items without any modifications. Finally, the Boston Cream Pie comes and it was good. The raspberry sauce on the bottom of the plate killed it for me but it was okay. We had to keep flagging down the waiter since he was no where to be seen. If you’re gonna consider your restaurant«high-class» where tennis shoes and caps aren’t allowed, then at least pull up your end and make sure that your waiters are more awake and attentive. I won’t be coming back.

Top of the Hub ist DIE rooftop-Bar in Boston. Angemessen halt. Es gibt ein Dreigang-Menue zu 38 $. Cocktails muß man ca. 12 – 15 $ rechnen. Bier und Wein ist übermässig teuer. Der Service war schnell und freundlich.

Really nice place. Unfortunately the food is not as good as expected. Moreover when you see the price. But the place, the view and the furniture are just great.
