Bothell Pediatric Dentistry Dr. Jon A Dallman & Dr. Yoo-Lee Yea

Similar to other experiences I just read here from other patients, I felt very ‘talked down to.’ The hygienist and doctor were condescending and made me feel like a terrible mother for letting my 4 year old drink milk with a little squirt of Hershey syrup in it (I’m pretty sure that teaspoon of chocolate isn’t the biggest factor in my son’s cavities, but they bring it up first thing, EVERY time) and for allowing occasional treats. They also took new x-​rays even though we were there on a referral from our family dentist who had JUST done a set and then they said that they found at least 3 MORE cavities than out dentist had mentioned just weeks before– seems sketchy…
Each time we left, I left with a bad feeling. It is bad enough I feel guilty that my 4 year old has a cavity, I don’t need them spending the whole visit making me feel even worse about it.
I did feel like they interacted well with my son. They have books with pictures that they have made about what to expect during the visit that they read with him and they always were kind with him. I think it would be especially good for children with special needs or anxiety issues– the pre teaching, picture books and upbeat tone with the kids set a calm, comfortable tone for the children.
I won’t be back if I can avoid it, I hated the whole thing, but at least my son doesn’t have bad feelings about his dental experience.

Went to Dr Dallman after the recommendation from another dentist. Basically a cavity that our dentist wasn’t comfortable doing. Same issues with the xRays as a few others have suggested. I even sent the Dr Dallmans office the digital images from the xRays not 3 days before our appointment.
He did a set of XRays or billed me for them.
Then after the initial consult we found two other teeth that had issues and suggested they be pulled and spacers put in since the adult teeth would be coming in within a couple years.
They gave me a Quote in writing for $ 1400, of that insurance was going to cover $ 1000. I specifically asked multiple times are you sure insurance is going to cover it? Yes of course don’t worry. I signed the quote and scheduled the spacers.
A few weeks later I get the bill and it was for $ 2500 minus $ 800 insurance. The cash out of pocket quadrupled and they basically said too bad.
Stay away from this dentist and their dishonest billing practices.

This is an amazing dentistry for kids! Hours are convenient and the staff is amazing! I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a good quality dentist for there kids. The dentist is very calm and great with kids!

Our four kids have been coming to Dr. Dallman for the past 12 years or so. All of our experiences have been very positive from routine cleanings and preventative care, all the way to extensive dental work. Dr. Dallman and staff have treated us all with nothing but respect and my kids have ZERO fear of coming to the dentist, even our youngest who has had root canals and other extensive work performed. I am confident to refer all of my family and friends to Dr. Dallman’s office.

The one star of this review would go straight to the hygienists at this office. In fact I would give those ladies all 5 stars.
However Dr. Dallman would receive zero stars if I could award that.
We also have a family dentist who is fantastic! We had been taking the children there for a few years and had no issues. At the last appointment a few cavity spots had come in on my children’s teeth so they did X-​rays and found several on each child.
Our dentist filled one cavity but my daughter’s mouth is quite small so he thought a pediatric dentist could accommodate her size better.
In comes our experience with Dr. Dallman
They also took X-​rays even though they had the ones my dentist took not even three weeks prior. When he sat down he never introduced himself or even shook my hand (maybe I’m old school like that) all he said was «what did they tell you at the last place» I said «well they said she had about 5 cavities but they also fixed one»
«Well she has way more than that going on» was his response. (Actually when he named them off it was just the last four left to be fixed)
He informed me she would need a crown as well! She’s 4!!!
Next — my son same song and dance.
He then rudely informed me in a very shaming tone that «you need to stop feeding your children sugar»
Excuse me?! He never even inquired about our diet! In fact if he would have asked a few questions he would have learned I work in the fitness and nutrition industry and sugar and refined foods are almost non-​existent in our family diet!
Before children I assisted in pediatric cardiac surgery so I get that a lot of times bedside manner doesn’t always go hand in hand with a good Dr., but honestly my trust in him was shattered before it even started by him trying to say there was more wrong with their teeth than there really was.
I would not recommend anyone going to see this man.

We starting seeing Dr’s Dallman and Yea 4 years ago, on the recommendation of my mom. My younger brother, a child with a severe developmental delay was always well cared for, and the staff do a great job with everyone! Could not recommend them more. They are polite, friendly and we have never had any problems! My sons love going to get their teeth cleaned. My oldest has even had cavities filled here as well!

We’ve been visiting Dr. Dallman for 12 years since my son was 4 years old, he had a lot of problems. Dr. Dallman saved my son’s teeth. Now he also helps me with my 8 years old daughter. Both of my kids love him. Never had any problems. Personnel always friendly, polite and knowledgeable.

My husband and I took our daughter here several years back when she was three years old. When I saw this dentist was on Unilocal,I decided to do a post on our experience, as it was very uncomfortable, and I think all parents should know before going here how it works. Our regular family dentist was not comfortable working on my daughter’s cavities at her age, and felt we would do better with a specialist. Otherwise, I love our family dentist, and would not have gone elsewhere. First off, if you are used to going back with your child for appointments at the doctor or, your current dentist, get ready for a change, they politely tell you that you are going to wait in the waiting room. That made me uncomfortable from the start. My daughter was little, and never having been there before, didn’t know anyone. So after about 5 minutes we just told the secretary we wanted to go back and check on her. They let us, but man did we get the cold shoulder from the dentist, he did not want us back there. His assistant was trying to be nice, but he was completely unfriendly. Also they took xrays right away without even telling us, and we had just had them done at the other dentist. He also told us our daughter had six cavities, and seriously made us feel bad with his tone. I was mortified at hearing that, but was also irritated by the way he was treating us. We had another child at the time whom had had no cavities, and I just couldn’t believe she had six. Also in the room there was a boy obviously pretty knocked out in a chair from nitrous, and I’m not sure how I felt about that either. The whole situation really bothered me. We ended up leaving after their little directions about what had to be done and how it would be done. We ended up going to another dentist who informed us that our daughter only had three cavities, not six, and welcomed us back with her for the appointment, and procedure. This dentist was kind, and also let us know that some kids are more prone to cavities then others, and that her own son had two cavities at two years old and she was a dentist. Much more professional, and comfortable for our family. I would look elsewhere if you are needing a pediatric dentist. I’m sure some people would love this set up, this was not for us.

I have a highly sensitive 4 year old girl and a spirited 1 year old– dr. Dallmans office was able to address both girls needs without a problem. My girls had a great experience and they are actually looking forward to their next visit!
