North Creek Park

The floating docks are loads of fun. This place is 0.2 miles from my house, so it’s pretty much the closest option for going running or on a walk. There’s not much to this park other than a small playground, some charcoal grills, an enclosure, and a mile or so of walking trails with interactive information signs throughout. It connects to a neighborhood at the other end and I suppose if you wanted, you could circle around. It’ll spit you out near Albertsons on 164^th.
This place gets very crowded and lots of people bring dogs. I love dogs so it’s not a problem for me, but if you’re not keen on canines, I wouldn’t recommend this park. The playground is always full and lots of people are walking the trail at any given hour.

North Creek Park hosts a marvelous board walk trail guiding park goers from North Bothell into the south part of Mill Creek. The wonderful wooden path allows walkers to take in the sunshine in a reclusive part of Mill Creek where nature lives.

Okay, I’ve left you hanging too long. On my first review I mentioned we couldn’t find the other path indicated on the map at the park. Well, truth be known, there is no other path and we don’t know if there is a back story or what. Time to update the hiking map.

A quiet park for a nice stroll. The park doesn’t have water view like most WA parks, but it is pretty in its own way. It is not recreational, no tennis court, not much roller-​blade friendly surface, etc. During the rain season, the swamp water overflows sections of the wood-​planked trail, it gets your shoes wet, though I kinda like that, it has got character… very peaceful. I am never going back ever again though, after reading other people’s posts about snakes hanging about. Yikes…

Me and the pooch stopped by here on our way to an off-​leash park and WHAT A TREAT! Thankfully, I grabbed my binoculars before we set out as this is a birder’s dream. The boardwalks were icy and quite slippery so this kept us from completely investigating the place — but I can’t wait to return — particularly in the spring when the birds are all back and nesting. Interpretive signs provide background on the property and the importance of a bog in an ecosystem. Brilliant! A gem!

It’s pretty amazing that we have a park like this so close to urban development. There’s a playground here that seemed pretty busy, and expansive boardwalk trails that make you feel like you’re in a labyrinth. Well-​kept and safe. Had to dock a few points for the lack of signage — there’s a few scattered here and there, but a little more info about the flora and fauna would be nice. Didn’t really like the snakes I kept passing, one which was just chilling in the sun, right smack in middle of the walkway. but hey, that’s why it’s called a nature trail, right? Be careful when the boardwalk is wet. «Slippery» is an understatement.

Great park for strolling, strutting, meandering, whatever form of movement you prefer.
It’s an especially great destination in the heat of the summer. The wood-​planked trails are surrounded by wetlands, making it feel 10 degrees cooler. You get the sense that you have the whole park to yourself because of the overgrown grass growing along the path.
The paths are wide, the area is well kept and the views are tranquil and beautiful.
