was told that the cook would make barbecued tofu but he forgot all about it. I was left eating udon noodles. unsatisfying.

Why can’t they make a grilled cheese? And why is there only one register?! We seriously need a few vending machines

Took an extension class and really leaned on this café for good food and drink. Friendly people. Still can’t wrap my soul around snobby rich brats slumming through their college years. The disconnect between privileged complainers and hippiedom is a weird experience. I saw some of these faux flower children behave with incredible rudeness while asking if the brownies are vegan.

I am going to Naropa and have a bit of experience with the café and I do have to say that they don’t have a standard selection. Most of their menu, combo items are rotating and even if you might have some awesome penne one day, you might not see it the next day. Not cool. Their hamburgers are usually very greasy and not very appetizing. Their penne likely won’t be there the next day and it really should be a permanent menu item. I also think they need a better selection of items each day. This place does accept credit cards but only with purchases of $ 5 or more.

The Naropa Café is owned/operated by the same folks as Aji Latin American Restaurant, Leaf Vegetarian Restarant, the Dushanbe Tea House, and the Huckleberry(in Lousiville). The owners use the Naropa Café primarily as base of operations for a catering service, but also to serve hot food, sandwiches, salads and beverages to the Naropa University community. Prices have gone up in recent years, and quality has improved, but it’s still only so-so overall. Dishes may be tasty, but they are often served too not hot enough, which leads me to wonder if they’re meeting county health code guidelines for minimum temperatures of hot foods, and maximum temperatures of cold foods.(even the best restaurants have a long history of health code violations, so this in itself isn’t a caution, it’s just room for improvement). It’s good variety for the price, however, which cannot be had within a half-mile radius of the location.
