Poor customer service and unprofessional staff. Even with a quality issue with their clothing, they will not accept a return or accommodate you. They have a nice selection of men’s clothing, but the majority is grossly overpriced. You can find the same products at stores on Pearl street for much less. I wouldn’t recommend Starr’s.

If I could give it a zero I would. The first thing I noticed was how the store manager, Megan, was reeking of alcohol. That’s classy. As I walked around, the girls that worked there seemed too busy looking at their cell phones and talking to each other than helping the customers. The prices are really high for poorly constructed clothing. They have their return policy all over the store. If you have to post the no return policy every ten feet, that yells«red flag» to me. The owner, Karen, was the most UNPROFESSIONAL broad I have ever met. Instead of asking her employees to get to work, she sat there like a teenage girl and started gossiping about other coworkers to them. Since the counters are right next to the dressing rooms, I overheard the owner telling the employees who she was going to fire the next day and why she hated them. What kind of business is she running? Why, by any means, would the owner be telling her employees who’s getting fired? In addition to that, she said that if any of the girls tried to warn this particular employee, they would be let go too. I couldn’t believe what I was listening to! I mean, what a turd! When I headed to the restroom, the store manager was coming out and joked to her coworker how drunk she was and how she just threw-up for the third time that day. WHAT?! I couldn’t believe how vocal she was about showing up to work that intoxicated! Once again, the owner is completely oblivious to the train-reck that was happening 15 feet away. The point is this: The owner is a child, the store manager is a mess, and the sales associates are air-heads. I can’t imagine this store being open for much longer with their turn-over rate with employees, high prices and poor customer service. I am a Boulder native and a huge supporter of local businesses. However, this local store doesn’t deserve a penny from the community or those visiting.

By far my favorite shopping stop on Pearl. The sales associates are happy to offer opinions/suggestions and let you know about current markdowns, but manage to do so without coming across as pushy. Pricing is moderately reasonable to slightly high, and the majority of their clothing and jewelry styles are cute… warm scarves, cropped jackets, pendants ahoy. I skipped their section of Lucky jeans since the brand’s online inventory purge sales are way better deals, and my preferred cut wasn’t stocked. Clearance rack had already been scavenged bare. Men’s section offered decent variety.

Starr’s is an amazing store with lots to choose from. The Denim Specialists have always gone out of their way to be friendly and help me, but they are not to pushy. The parties they throw like FNO are wonderful.

Visiting the area this past weekend, I commented on a pair of jeans a girl was wearing at a concert. She was short and small like myself which makes it impossible to find well fitting(non-children size) jeans. She told me she got them at Starr’s and I should check them out for sure. I hate jean shopping with a passion b/c no one can ever seem to fit me in a pair that works, but I went anyways half-doubtful and half-hopeful. The girls that work here, specifically Audrey and(totally drawing a blank on the other girl’s name!) tall blonde, were SO sweet and SO helpful which is rare to find now-a-days. I told Audrey exactly what I was looking for, what my concerns were etc and she knew exactly which options to grab for me to try on. In less than 30 minutes I had found the most perfect«made-for-ME» jeans. I returned later to have the jeans pinned for hemming and to look for a cute shirt. The other girl that helped me this time was so patient with me even though I was so picky AND had a certain price-range. I think I tried on every shirt in the place and then ended up with the very first one I had tried on 2 hours earlier! The only reason I’m not giving it 5 stars is b/c it was rather pricey for my likes. BUT the service received definitely deserves 5 stars!!!

I am not a shopper, I hate trying on clothes, I hate pushy sales people. The whole act of shopping makes me want to drink, heavily. I, however, love this joint. The ladies who work here know my sizes(and my boy’s), which I don’t even know. I peruse the well organized sales racks with ease. I spend more than I should without guilt.

This store has an odd combination of men’s and women’s clothing. Colombia flannel shirts and Levi’s for the gents and some sort of Free People /Izod dichotomy for the ladies. If you live comfortably in Boulder then you may consider the clothes to be reasonably priced. Otherwise, stick to the 75% off rack in the back of the store or limit your trips to payday.
