Never go here for color. This woman pretends she is a world-class stylist, but she does not know how to color hair! If you are a guy, you’re probably safe getting your hair cut here, but I would never get colored by her if I were you. Not only is she very unprofessional, but I could probably get a better dye job at a cosmetology school for half the price or less. She talks up her salon like it’s super affordable, but I’ve never paid that much to get my hair done. On top of that, I had to get my hair color corrected at another salon to make up for the disastrous mess she turned my hair into. She didn’t even try to get close to my roots and put giant chunks of bleach into my hair. On the plus side, the new stylist I went to thought my hair was so bad that she gave me a huge discount.

I don’t really know what to say about this place. I went in for a trim, wanting an inch off. She took off 3 inches. Place– cluttered and a bit messy, with hair chunks flying around whenever the door opens. There are mountains of hair just sitting in piles around the chair. Price– the advertised price, which I thought was great for just a trim, was entirely false. The ad said something near $ 10 but I ended up paying $ 40 plus tip. When I asked her during the haircut about it, she said it would be a little more depending on the time she spends cutting. Which is understandable and normal. — - — - — - But MYBIGGESTCOMPLAINTWAS she spent more time talking than cutting. And she would stop cutting to find a broom, find a different pair of scissors, get a phone call and talk to her friend about her plans for the weekend, and sweep up hair from the previous customer. So I was charged to sit in the chair and watch her sweep, while my hair was dripping with water. While she was on the phone, she didn’t want to make it so obvious that time is ticking and she will charge me for this, so she would just run her fingers through my hair. while talking on the phone. So do I pay for you talking to your friend for 8 minutes, too??? She would cut a few pieces, then come to the front, face me, and talk some more. After noticing this pattern, I stopped responding to her, just spoke yes or no. No work being done on my hair, just chatting away. I’ve never had a trim take 65 mintues. Cut– It was just a trim, so there’s really nothing special to say. The only thing is I specifically asked her for ONE inch off, and she said ok, but she ended up cutting 3 inches. Overall, spend your money elsewhere. I go to great salons in LA and for a trim +chatting+ explaining time, it takes maybe 40 minutes. ATMOST. The lady here was obviously trying to drag out the time. But seriously? You should not be talking on the phone while a customer waits for you to end the call. And talking about everything from politics, ex boyfriends, Paris, moving, Africa’s culture(I’m not making any of this up) with your hands in your pockets instead of TRIMMINGMY hair should not be included in the price. Lastly, when I was at the register to pay, I was fuming on the inside. I was furious with my trim because I had a wedding to go to and the updo requires long hair. And I’d already spent more than an Hour there, when I expected 40 min. She watched me like a hawk when I was signing the receipt. She said«Yea usually it’s 18−20% Students here pay the 20% you know?» I… didn’t even know what to say… I really really do not recommend this place. If you’re a first time customer, she will chat you up, wanting to drag out the time. And $ 40 for a trim? Come on, now.

My experience mirrors that of Alise R. The owner didn’t honor my coupon, and the haircut was pretty bad. I thought it was next to impossible botch a guy’s haircut, but apparently not. Cost Cutters or Great Clips would do a better job more efficiently and for less money. Contrary to Norka M.‘s suggestion, I was under no impression that my coupon would not be honored prior to my haircut. Furthermore, my haircut was extremely basic. If the store owner didn’t honor the coupon for my haircut, I cannot imagine that she would have honored it for any other haircut.

This was very disappointing. I am pregnant and was looking for a place that used organic hair color, and online this seemed like a great place — it even said I would get a free haircut with full color. While the products she used were great and my hair felt lovely when it was done(which is unusual with color), the service was horrible. The owner was running behind schedule when I got there, and just seemed to do everything slow. When she was done, she charged me for my haircut because she said I got a Style Cut, not a basic cut because she put some layers in my hair. Really? Because she didn’t just cut straight across the back? It took longer to cut the young boy’s hair next to me than mine, and his was considered basic. When I argued with her that if she was going to charge me she should have told me that before she cut, she offered me 20% off the haircut(which was $ 7 off) and gave me coupons to come back. She said — she was too busy and forgot to tell me that it was a more expensive cut. She should have sucked it up then since it was her fault. Watching the owner and her new hair stylist was like watching Laurel and Hardy. They were constantly running around trying to find things and couldn’t seem to figure out how to total receipts at the end of the day(And yes, the owner kept leaving me mid-haircut to explain to the other stylist over and over again how to count). She used brushes that had hair in them and had obviously been used on other clients. I won’t be returning here and can’t recommend them at all. I’m sure there are other places in Boulder that are eco-friendly and use natural hair color if that’s what you are looking for.

Norka was a funny, upbeat lady that gave me a solid cut for a good price. I came in with a picture of what I was looking for, we compared what would look good on my features, then she went for it. Very natural and a super clean cut. I’ll be back here again! $ 22 for a men’s haircut. It’s hard to beat that price for the kind of cut you get.

I went here because I had a coupon for a free hair cut with the purchase of a full or partial color. Not only was I charged a full 30 dollars for a «Style cut» when all she did was trim my hair but she also charged me 75 dollars for a less than sufficient job at highlighting my hair. I have long hair and she used a cap to highlight my hair. You are not supposed to use a cap on long hair!!! I was left with streaks in my hair that make me look like a zebra(which i could luckily cover up with a different part in my hair) and the color doesn’t even cover my roots. She kept me and my friend at the salon for 4HOURS, she wouldn’t stop talking and dinking around in her messy, back room looking for hair products. She used the same brush and scissors on my friend and I as well as on all the other customers that went into the salon. NOTSANITARY! My friend also wanted to use a coupon for a 9.99 hair cut and was charged 30 bucks for her cut too! I also saw a sign that gave a discount to new customers… which i didn’t receive– obviously. I WILLNEVERGOTOTHISSALONAGAIN. Cost Cutters does a better job, in less time, and with greater health, and for much less than the $ 100 + dollars I spent on my service. I am not happy with this salon. I will not be recommending them at all.

I went back here and was disappointed. I asked to only have a ½ inch taken off my hair and ended up with something shoulder length. It is because this is ‘long elegant’ you see. The pushiness to sell her organic products is annoying as well. I guess I’ll be looking for somewhere else to get my hair cut next time, as she seems like she just does what she wants with your hair.
