We were in Bowling Green for a concert and my sister really wanted to try fried chicken in kentucky. After searching and searching, this was the closest thing we can find to that. Their fried chicken was outstanding… the flavoring, the sides, everything about it. The portions are enormous. I can’t even imagine trying to finish a meal like that. I got corn and fries as my sides. Both went really well with the chicken. My sister got broccoli and said it was some of the best broccoli she’s ever had. Overall a great experience and definitely made us get our fried chicken fix. Also, we sat at the bar, where the bartender was probably one of the hardest working people I’ve ever seen in my life. He was fantastic! It was a great experience! I would highly recommend if in this area.

In the world of chain restaurants Cheddar’s is probably one of my favorite. They give you a great value in good food, large portions and reasonable pricing. This particular location we visited I would say the food and service was just average– can’t say anything very bad about it just nothing that has me rushing to come back. Ordered ribs and chicken tenders, the ribs were so hard I felt like I was going to chip a tooth. They sent them back and brought out more that were just as bad so did just the chicken tenders. They were flavorful as I’ve come to expect there, but still slightly tough although much better than the ribs. I hate sending anything back and it has to be really bad for me to, but have to give the staff credit though they did what they could to make it right. As I said I’d go back just not rushing to get there.

Our group of three arrived for dinner at 7:30. There were many open tables but we were issued a buzzer(I hate touching those things) and told that our wait would be 10 to 15 minutes. The place seemed clean enough and the décor was contemporary. A very large number of bussers and servers buzzed around in a frenetic pace. Once seated, my stomach decided that the Pasta New Orleans or the Monte Cristo were the way to go. I decided in the pasta and my party ordered the Chicken Quesadilla and the Grilled Fish Tacos. After waiting about 15 minutes, my server returned to inform me that the Pasta New Orleans was no longer available. Oh and by the way, neither was the Monte Cristo. So, I ordered the Smokehouse Burger and fries, due to my concern that my food would not arrive alongside my party’s meals. About 20 minutes later, our food arrived. While my party was pleased with theirs, my burger was luke warm. Then, to add insult to injury, I received a check for the entire meal. No compensation for the poor experience! Did I mention that this was my first, and last, visit to Cheddars? Be warned…

We had family from out of state come for a visit. We took them to Cheddar’s their first night in BG. What a nightmare! It took a very long time for our food to arrive, my sister in law ordered a cheese burger with mayo and pickle only and got a cheese burger with mustard, tomato pickles and lettuce, my brother in law ordered chicken and shrimp, and received bbq spare ribs and shrimp. The manager did come out and was super nice and wanted to make a new hamburger for my sister in law but she kept the one they served her, and he did bring my brother in law his chicken and told him to keep the ribs. My husband asked the waitress for ketcup and she never did bring it we had to ask the manager for ketcup. My soup was cold but I just kept my mouth shut. My husband had a couple more bites left of his sandwich and was still eating it and the waitress came and took his plate away. I asked for one check and she brought 2. I’m pretty sure it will be a very long time before I go back to Cheddar’s.

Blurgh. The fish tank is pretty. All else is mediocre which worked for us as a highway stop thanks.

I only added 1 star because there’s not a negative star option. The only positive thing I can say is that I’ve never received food poisoning visiting Cheddars in BG, and that’s it. 1st time, food sucked. I wouldn’t feed that shit to a stray dog. 2nd visit, the waitress was brain dead and the food left much to the imagination. If you’re into corporate food and don’t have mature taste buds, go for it.

Great place to eat. Even when they are busy they get you seated in a reasonable time. The food is cheap yet they give huge portions while maintaining the quality. I recommend asking to sit in Lisa Holt’s section. She was fast and friendly. I’ve also had Jeff as a server and he did a good job too.

Food was good and service was good. Had the Baked Spasagne. Spaghetti and lasagne together more or less. Salad was good. I didn’t have any issues other than the sweet tea being a little too sweet but hey that’s what I asked for.

Trip advisor was a bit misleading. The place itself is very nice, something akin to an Uno’s atmosphere and it is very busy. This place is getting two stars for using canned vegetables and my wife’s meal. Their green beans and corn both came from a can. Yeah the grilled chicken was tasty but how about some fresh vegetables? The portions were also pretty huge they should cut down and focus on fresh greens. It should not be that difficult to buy local produce. The biggest disappointment was my wife’s shepherd’s pie. It was a bunch of meat balls with some mashed potatoes thrown on top with a side of nuked onions. It also came in a shallow soup plate.

Cheddars was always the place that everyone loved. I tried and tried again, but it just never did it for me. They prices were really low compared to similar restaurants in the area, but the food wasn’t anything special. The options were similar to what you would get at a Fridays or Chili’s. The service was sometimes good, sometimes bad. There are definitely other restaurants in Bowling Green that I would recommend before Cheddars.

We eat here when money’s a little tight. The food is acceptable for the money. Not a place to get a good tasting drink. The waiter even told us they don’t worry about the drinks because they don’t want people to drink there as they are a family establishment. Ok? Anyway, we will go back on a night we can’t decide on something else or looking to eat for under $ 25. close to the house.

First time eating at Cheddar’s and we will be returning. Three adults had the tower of onion rings and vegetable soup, which were excellent followed by a chicken pot pie, a side of ribs with carrots and broccoli & cheese They replace a way to spicy red beans & rice with a very good mustard based coleslaw. All portions were decent sized. We shared a double chocolate coke cola cake desert and managed to waddle out to the car. With standing room only in the waiting area, this must be a popular place in BG.

Unilocal didn’t have much info for Bowling Green, so we turned to Trip Advisor for once where Cheddars was the #1 restaurant. Now I know why we stick with Unilocal… The food was good, but not great and the service was downright awful. We were seated surprisingly quick, but then we sat for close to 20 minutes before a server took our drink orders; acting like she came to save the day and throwing her coworkers under the bus for not attending to us quicker. The manager came right afterwards and apologized that they had a big party that they weren’t expecting, but he would«take care of us» and everything would be ok from then on. We never got our drinks, our entrees came out about four minutes after we ordered and our salads came out about two minutes after that. Again, the manager apologized profusely and brought our check with a charge for the two salads that we sent back still on there. We probably would have laughed if we weren’t so grumpy and tired. I understand being in the weeds, but we definitely were not the only table with problems. Hold off on seating more tables and allow yourself time to catch up instead of having a restaurant full of angry customers. Unfortunately we’ll probably never get another chance to try them again, but I’m not in a huge hurry anyway.

This was the first time I’d eaten here, and it was really good. The price cannot be beat for the quality of food and portion size. I had the shepherd’s pie, which was good but not a true shepherd’s pie. The cheese fries for an appetizer are also a really good choice. The service we had that night was good, and the place was packed.
