As a «security system,» our gate system is not. The gates regularly open spontaneously when it rains and often fail to close after routine exit. Then when I try and get into my complex using the keypad, it won’t let me in. We’ve had Bellemare’s gate security system for over a year. We were told the system is state-of-the-art and we were promised world class service. In actuality, neither turned out to be true. Efforts to contact either Pierre Bellemare, the president, or Keith Ritchie, the head technician, through a request to the management company have gone nowhere. Pierre has promised the world but has to deliver through Keith and Keith does not respond to email. Unless I’ve called Pierre Bellemare’s or Keith Ritchie’s mobile phone directly or I’ve run into one of them in person, I haven’t gotten a response. When I do get a response, Keith tells me how many things he’s done to fix the problem — but hasn’t actually fixed the problem. According to Keith, when he comes to check on a problem, the gate works perfectly. The keypads, the remote sensors, and the gate system are extremely intermittent and unreliable. Furthermore, our contract states that Bellemare will be on premises during specified hours to address homeowners’ problems. Bellemare has not upheld that contract. Keith says he shows up for a fraction of the time… but leaves early when he wrongly assumes there are no problems. Save yourselves a lot of expense and aggravation by avoiding Bellemare’s «state-of-the-art» gate system.
