Blue Jasper

What a Great restaurant ! I have enjoyed breakfast at Blue Jasper several times. First and foremost, their Quiches are outstanding. Everything I’ve tried has been excellent but the Quiches are phenomenal.
The omelettes are big and fluffy and taste great. Everything seems to be extremely fresh and very well prepared. I’m a little torn on the corned beef hash. I enjoyed it as it was clear that it was freshly made (not canned) but it’s got an unusual spice in it (possibly curry) that makes it different. I’ll have to try it again to decide whether I like it or not.
The service is fantastic. Everyone is friendly even when they are crushed. I’m sure I will be back regularly. They are located close to Peaches which is much better known but not nearly as good. I often wonder why people wait for a table at Peaches when they could get seated sooner and enjoy a much better meal at Blue Jasper. Maybe it’s just force of habit. Given a little time, I think they find out where the better meals are.

Food was great. I had the Bananas Foster French toast. Service was friendly, but it did take a little while. Will definitely go back.

Been here several times and never disappointed, would recommend them to anyone. Service is always fast and friendly. The food and coffee are always spot on.

The breakfast sandwich was tasty and prepared very well.
The chicken and egg curry en croute was not a good idea at 9 am. I’d give the dish itself about a 2. The curry was definitely reheated and had cold spots. It was a good curry though. The pastry itself had a good taste and texture. I wouldn’t recommend this dish, especially not for breakfast.

I think we have to give this place mother chance. The day we went there was only one lady working the floor and she left 6 or 8 covered in food and dirty dishes. Not the most pleasant thing in the world to look at while you eat. The food was ok but nothing so amazing as the reviews made it sound. The décor was very nice. You could tell someone had put a lot of time into making it look just the way they wanted. I will make a point to return and update this review but so far I’m on the fence about Blue Jasper. Maybe it was just an off day

Great selections on menu but unfortunately not well presented. On the day I visited both our entrees were lukewarm and extremely salty, almost inedible. I was hoping for better quality but did not receive it. My breakfast tasted like processed food.

Awesome breakfast and outstanding service :) The shrimp and grits are over the top delicious… and their biscuits are amazing. Quaint little place with a very welcoming atmosphere.

Blue Jasper is a quaint little café at the end of a plaza and it absolutely stands out! Every time I’ve made a visit, it has been nothing less than perfect! It’s an amazing place with wonderful, helpful, kind staff and an outstanding chef.
I’ve never received an ill meal from them and I don’t think they’re planning on letting that happen! Love, Love, LOVE!

Yum… The coffee here is really amazing and let’s face it that’s the most important thing! Food is incredible and I love the unique possibilities. Had the corned beef hash this morning and look forward to trying the egg curry en croute next time!

You know, when a place keeps getting 5 stars you should probably get your bucket over and check it out yourself! I went with my mother, sister, and daughter for a girl’s breakfast. We all really liked our food and we shared so I got to taste it all. My mom got a side order of corned beef hash and the lavender yogurt to share. I LOVED the hash and the yogurt was really good and interesting. Mom ordered the shrimp and grits — FANTASTIC!!! Great flavors! My sister ordered the chicken and waffles — also FANTASTIC!!! I would totally order this again. And again. The chicken coating is crispy and has a little zing to the spice, the waffle has some sweet cornmeal in it (I think) and is fantastic. The cream cheese that comes with the dish also has a spice added and all of it together makes an original and unique flavor combo. Daughter ordered an omelette. It was a regular ol’ omelette. I like trying new and locally made so I would go for that, especially since they do this so well here. I ordered the chicken and egg curry en croute. Holy moly this was unbelievable! Such amazing flavor and so original! I would order this again and again too! I am not a huge curry fan but this was crazy good!

Four of us visited for a relaxing breakfast (or early brunch in my case), and my Shrimp and Grits were exceptional, not soupy, with plenty of shrimp and andouille sausage. YUM! Try the Lavender yogurt $ 1.99 served with a bit of fruit, just awesome! I would tell you my favorite dish but I really can’t choose from the dishes we shared and the side of corned beef hash that I almost stabbed my daughter’s hand for trying to hog too much of!) PS – I am in love with the chef but he is already married.) (yes I’m married too! Sorry fellas!)

Yum. So good. I don’t like leaving the island when I’m staying at AMI but my sister makes me leave to try restaurants she finds on Unilocal.This was a delightful reward for a planned girls’ breakfast outing. Try the house made chai. (Made like Masala tea, so you have to sweeten it yourself.) The chicken and waffles are to die for! Great omelettes and giant quiche wedges. We loved the shrimp and grits, but the favorite was the Chicken and Egg Curry en Croute.

Had a great breakfast here! I had a Shrimp Newberg omelet. The eggs were cooked perfectly. They tasted extra good, like someone had taken time to add some good stuff before cooking. Sort of reminiscent of like tamago egg sushi pieces that are sweet and salty at the same time. The shrimp were also cooked just right, tender and delicious. The omelet came with hash browns, nice and crispy. Salsa was in a cup on the side, tasted homemade. The bread was also good, I was told by our server it is made by a bakery in the Village of the Arts. Great coffee too. Everything was fresh and above average in quality, I doubt that Sysco sells a lot of product here. The space is decorated really nicely and the service was excellent and attentive. Looking forward to going back soon!

My name is Ellie and I’m an addict. It’s really not my fault though; the food is so good that all my friends (and family) that have eaten there want to go back. It started last Thursday. I have eaten there every day except Sunday (when my parents ate there without me) and Monday (when they are closed.) I thought yesterday would end my delicious food frenzy but I was wrong. This morning my boyfriend woke up and said, «You know what sounds good? That chicken curry thing en croute.» It’s a problem, living so close to such an amazing place, but my wallet will soon force me to stay home and dream of the food. If you are on the fence, all of the soups are phenomenal and we haven’t had a special we didn’t like… and that’s the problem ;)
I have made a list of what I’ve eaten for anyone looking at a specific meal:
Chai tea– hot, perfect. Delicious.
Banana foster brioche French toast– amazing
Chicken egg curry en crout– reigning favorite
Biscuits and gravy– savory, not as think of gravy as I’m used to. Flavors are perfect.
Extraordinary Grilled cheese– different and fruity. Comes with tomato soup that I don’t particularly like but my boyfriend loves. (I don’t like tomatoes.
Guinness braised lamb– amazing. Not in a dark base like I expected. Light and filling with great melding of flavors.
Mushroom soup (special) — creamy. Puréed so there are no chunks. Close to the best I’ve had.
Southwest soup (special) — chunky with bits of pork that were perfectly sized. I wish it was cold out so I could fully enjoy it.
Other people have gotten (I sampled):
Shrimp and grits– different. Southwest flair. Good flavor.
Blackened brisket sandwich — amazing. Will get again
Chicken club– fresh and delicious. Good balance of flavor.
Salmon eggs Benedict– ok, I’ve had some amazing Benedicts so it’s hard to compare. Tasted great.
Pesto chicken sandwich– (special) I wish it was a regular item.

Made from scratch Chai! Gluten free breakfast items! Extremely fresh and delicious and good value. YUM. I will eat here every time I am in town.

Amazing new place in Bradenton. Food is fantastic! Soo many amazing choices I know I won’t ever get bored. This is definitely my fave place to go to for breakfast and lunch! Made In house fresh sausage and ground in house burgers? Wow!

Smallish but very comfortable dining area. Very clean and friendly.
