Sadly, most of the time we are disappointed when we go here. We go hoping for the best because it’s close and convenient but each time they manage to disappoint with something. Our last trip — we had the firecracker shrimp, so over cooked, they chewed like little rubber balls. Chicken Parm with spaghetti= tasteless dry piece of chicken, chili ordered with no onion came with onion not a big deal but we have send it back for replacement. French dip — blah! Pot roast — eehhh!
Meat loaf — arghhh! We need a decent go to place, I wish they would get their act together.
To be fair, the hamburgers have always been good.

Toilet overflowing. Informed manager, blank stare is all I received. No apology for my unfortunate trip into a public restroom with toilet water all over the floor.
Bartender used my Bev nap to wipe down wet, soiled bar and then placed the drink I ordered directly on the Bev nap he used to wipe down bar. Guess it’s my fault for sitting down with expectations of clean bar.
Classy place, gotta put this on my list of places to visit while on antibiotics!

Had a bad experience with the food here. If I go there again it will only be for drinks.

Asked the bartender to put on a game for us on a tv no one was watching… i used to bartend she clearly isn’t that busy ordered a 2 for 1 well margarita… Let’s just say it was unique. Unique enough to get a one star review. Not sure she knows how to make mixed drinks… Should have went to evies

This place NEVER fails! The drinks are creative and fun, trivia is a blast, the atmosphere is friendly and laid back and you can tell that many who frequent here are local. When visiting, I am always welcomed and made to feel like a local as well. Great place to eat and relax!

Good food, good service, a little on the pricy side for pub food but comfortable atmosphere makes it worth while

Hands down, my favorite restaurant in the Sarasota area! Absolutely great staff and service and the food is phenomenal! Recommend trying the homemade chips for appetizer!

No more. I used to love this place and we went there often.
Tonight we had poor service, chips were not totally cooked (had to ask for new ones and the waiter forgot — ended up getting them at the end of the meal). We didn’t receive ketchup or mustard and had to get up to ask for them. Had to ask for extra napkins. Flies buzzing around the table. The restaurant wasn’t even half full so there’s no excuse.
Just yuck. There are way too many other restaurants in the area. Too bad — because we live close by.

We won’t be back. The appetizer (simply chips) didn’t come out until we reminded our server and it arrived with our meal. My husband’s beer glass had lipstick on it — yuk! The waiter replaced the beer but still charged us. Trivia contest moved at a snail’s pace. The food was fine, but we were tired, hungry, and had lost interest by then. There was no manager to be found to even offer feedback.

One of my regular and favorite spots. The servers care about their customers and work hard to please. The food is fresh and the veggies are locally grown the is a $ 5.00 burger on Monday and is really good you can get it a true medium rare and the fries come hot. The whole day is 2 for one drinks which makes for a happy lunch with the girls. The patio is nice with tvs and music it is covered and fenced off from the parking lot. Fun place, good variety on the menu and most accommodating for our fairly good sized group on multiple consecutive nights.
I had tuna nachos one time, the grilled mahi-​mahi smother and the chicken salad another occasion.
Staff very friendly, efficient and well trained to handle groups.
Ask for Taylor, Apparently there are more than one working there with this name
Mid range on the price and serving size is substantial

We have been coming to this location for over 10 years. No More. Last night was one of the worst meals we have actually been served and paid for. Meal #1.Fish Fry… Greasy…way, way over cooked fish. had been sitting in oil way too long. Hard on the outside. And meal #2 I have eaten this here over 50 times before… Gecko Burger. I asked for medium. It was so over cooked and dry, I could barely choke it down. One scant tsp of chili on top. Like a hockey puck. We ate it, we were hungry, but never again will we eat here. Too many new places around. Not sure if they are overwhelmed with snowbirds, but to send food out of the kitchen like that is horrid. And BOTH meals… I have rated this a 5 star in the past. Sad :(

Had an amazing BLT, so many bacons.
Service was courteous and quick.
This restaurant has the oddest playlist. Smashmouth followed by Build Me Up Buttercup. It’s like they are playing music that they would think would be ironic. I enjoy Girl Talk and this is like a very down tempo mix.

I had a gift certificate and can’t even finish it. The food is not very tasty and I gave the place a good college try 2 times. Maybe I just hate chain restaurants but never again.

Your portions are large. Which is a good thing. Not for your profits though. Everytime I order your chicken it is sooooooo dry. Limit your menu and hire a CHEF not 6 cooks that say they can. You are in a good position and location to make a real name for your self.

You can be assured to always get good food, moderately price… easy in and out. Service is appropriate.

I don’t mind going to Gecko’s once in a while. It is a decent enough place that is usually busy and is a good spot for typical bar fare.
This time we visited and the restaurant had a faint smell of wet carpet which was subtly off-​putting. We did order, however.
The food was fine. Nothing to complain about. As I said, it is good once in a while for me, but not a go to spot. Still it is OK in a pinch.

Have not been here for many months and now I remember why. First no Splenda. Who does not have Splenda these days? Next nobody wants a dirty menu. Theirs had sponge running down the inside pages. No much different than the booth walls. Seats look like they have not been wiped down for some time either. Food; ordered the frisco chicken sandwich. Came out with translucent old tomatoes proudly displayed. Asked for new ones and got green unripened tomatoes in return. No taste to this sandwich either. I had to use salt which I normally never do. My wife’s Cobb salad had brown lettuce and the server never showed back again until she dropped the check took the plates and was ready to walk away. She saw the salad was hardly touched yet she did not think to ask. I asked for a refill because she was not bright enough to ask me. She left and went over to bitch with another server. When she came back for the card I asked for my refill and finally a bit of brains, she asked if I wanted a to go cup.
Within 5 minutes of leaving we put the peddle to it. We needed to get home as our stomachs we’re not doing well. My underwear were very happy as I made it just in time to sit down and open the gates.
We will not be going to geckos again that is for sure. Next time I need a laxative I will visit the drugstore.

Ate dinner here last week with my parents while in town helping them move. They had told me time and time again about how great this place is. They even told me they only had one bad meal here so figured it was just an off day. We should have taken this as idea and gone else where. The only thing that was good was the 2 for 1 drinks, and the chips appetizer. Beyond that all the other meals not good at all.
Meal 1:
Boom Boom Shrimp Tacos, Or whatever they were called. Not much cooking involved in this meal except the shrimp and heating the tortilla shell. The sauce on the shrimp was decent and tasty but the shrimp was so over cooked they were like pieces of rubber.
Meal 2:
Grilled Chicken Alfredo, the dish was had so much cheap from the can sauce it was awful. Just watered down alfredo sauce that has no flavor, or taste. I understand you are not an italian resturant but how hard is it for a chef to use basic ingredients to add some flavor. We have all seen the food network and rule one they tell chefs of a resturant is taste the food.
Meal 3:
Tuna Melt, this wasn’t on the menu but the watiress told my mom she could have one made for her. She ate may be ate ¼ of the meal before just giving up on it. I didn’t try this myself as I am not a fan of tuna but it was just another poor attempt by the chef.
Meal 4:
10oz Sirloin Steak, Well this is what my dad ordered. What was charged to him and brought to him was their weekly steak special (flank steak). He said for the cheaper cut of meat it wasn’t that bad but it wsn’t what he ordered.
This is one of a few locations for this local chain resturant. I will have to try another location next time I am in town since they have decent ratings. Seems to me the issue with this one might be back in the kitchen.

Tried this place for the first time and was pretty impressed. We ordered a variety of sandwiches and burgers and they were all excellent! The service we received also gets an A+. Lunch was very busy and our server was on top of keeping our drinks refilled and keeping us apprised regarding when our food was going to be done. We would definitely come back if we are in the area.
