River Strand

Overall experience was terrific! I haven’t previously taken the time to write reviews, but this place deserves some positive feedback. Played here a couple times recently. The course is beautiful, fun and challenging. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, and the clubhouse is impressive. Great place to have lunch and dinner too with an excellent menu and reasonable prices. I would highly recommend visiting if you are in the area.

This is a very nice course that offers three 9 holes for members and guests of members to enjoy. The staff is great and very friendly and willing to help when needed. We had seen several gators and birds everywhere. I highly recommend taking additional bug spray because you WILL get eaten alive by little bugs. If you get a chance to play, make sure you have a range finder or the course will be very challenging.
The club house has some great food at great prices. I highly recommend you have dinner if you get the chance. The steak and pot roast is great!

I wouldn’t go back. Played this course on vacation. The scenery is beautiful and by far the best part of the course. Course itself is just okay. A lot of water and sand make it challenging for amateur players. Carts don’t have GPS. Course is very spread out with long cart rides between holes. I was expecting more based upon the upscale clubhouse but was overall disappointed by the course. Staff is not friendly. Course maintenance was going on while we played and very distracting. There are definitely better courses in the area. I have played a few florida courses on vacation and this one was my least favorite.

Stay away. They act like they are doing you a favor by letting you play here. My friend had jean shorts on and was told they had to buy a $ 70 pair of shorts to play so they waited in the car. She said her residents would be calling if they saw one stitch of denim. The entire time we had a grounds keeper follow us for 9 holes. They weed whacked between our shorts. Very peaceful let me tell you. Make sure you check your receipts too. They charged us for 18 even after we only booked 9. There are so many better places to play down here. Save your money and time.

I recently played River Strand on Saturday September 28^th and found the facilities to be very nice, so much so we returned the following Saturday October 5^th and things went to downhill. While driving from the 2^nd green to the 3^rd tee box on a shell cart path the wind screen on our golf cart fell off along with it my $ 300 wireless speaker (we like to enjoy music on the course). Before I could even react to it coming off it went under our golf cart and was run over along with my speaker. The other 2 players were directly behind us and saw this happen. We got out and placed the wind screen against a portable toilet that was nearby. The next time I saw a ranger I notified him what had happened and the location of the wind screen. When we finished the round and had pulled up to the clubhouse I was approached by an employee of the club. He immediately began grilling me about what had happened with the wind screen and I explained what happened. He then preceded to ask me how it could just fall off and that there was a foot print on the screen. Implying that we had somehow kicked or otherwise intentionally damaged the cart; I again explained it just fell off. Then another employee came up and began accusing us of damaging the cart and a heated argument ensued. I was absolutely and completely offended by how the staff handled this situation and basically called me a liar and they were going to «be in touch» and that we would be responsible for the damage. I have no idea how or why the wind screen came to be separated from the cart and explained it could have been compromised at any time prior to us using the cart. It could have happened for any number of reasons but to accuse us of deliberately damaging the cart was completely off base and insulting, not to mention how unprofessional the staff handled this incident. I look forward to hearing from the club’s manager about this and will report result.

Such a beautiful club and the golf course was challenging and fun (said the girlfriend of a golfer). You might see a couple Alligators.
