Bought a 20 $ tool and asked for 5 minutes of assistance and was told I would have to wait till tomorrow. Prices are to high and service is terrible. I will not be going here agian. Ps at my house the fix took me 3 minutes

Not only were the sales guys very helpful, but the service guy went above and beyond to be sure we were able to ride on our vacation.

Had a *great* experience with the folks at Ryder. Shipped my bike from Philadelphia, where I live, to Bradenton to start a long distance ride. Ryder didn’t just put the bike back together when it got there: they spotted a mechanical flaw that not only I, but two local bike shops had missed, and they fixed it. The result: I had a *much* better, safer, more enjoyable six day bicycle ride than i would have if they had not taken such pride in their work. I’d go back in a hearbeat. Their service prices struck me as fair and reasonable, too. Nothing but good things to say about these folks.

I bought my son his first«real» bmx bike here. Not only were they professional, courteous and very helpful-they were FUN. It was a gift from Santa and the staff offered to store the bike until Christmas for us(no charge) so he wouldn’t find it. And yes… at 11 he still believes :). 1 month later after the bike was ridden hard we bought it in for a free check up. Tire was flat. They changed the tube FORFREE. We received a prompt call the same day to come pick up the bike. I found it to be a pleasant experience dealing with the very knowledgeable staff.

So after 7 days and riding only 2 times and only a few miles off pavement… I get another flat before I head over to ride in Sarasota. Stop by the store to show them the flat… they wanted to charge me for a new tube and labor… then it was just the tube… I said no thanks… put some slime in it and that will take care of these little flats from these… he said slime doesnt work. I was like slime works fine… when you have lived in Arizona and Colorado where you get a 100 of these same stickers in your tires every time you ride. They do not believe in the slime because they know it works and they can’t rip people off with buying new tubes and labor every few rides. So I went over to Dick’s Sporting Goods(less than a mile away) and went in and bought the green slime. The Tech was not in and they let me do it in the work area so I could use their air. The only reason I did not buy the tubes here last week… they did not have my size and style in at that moment. The staff at Dick’s are super friendly and I recommend using them for any bike repairs. I have not met the bike tech here, but my great friend use to work for Dick’s bike dept in Tempe, AZ, who was also a professional mountain biker, so I know they hire quality techs. Oh and the price is about half of what RipoffRyders charges without the attitudes…

A deviation from my normal food reviews. I’ve done a fair bit of business with Ryder bikes over the years, bought two bikes here, various odds and ends, and serviced my bike here. But my last visit to Ryder makes me question going there again anytime soon for service. My front hub needed some repair. So I took it in to see what it would cost. Things started out well, as an employee tried to help me by first telling me their labor rates are such that it would probably be a wash to get a new wheel, at least a low end one like I was using. But they wouldn’t even look at it for less than $ 40. He looked around for one he could sell me but came back and told me he would have to order it. Not a problem, sounded reasonable, said it would be in on Friday most likely and would call me. Friday came and went. No call. And here is why I’m probably not coming back. I called them on Monday, explained to the person who answered the phone that I was wondering if my ordered wheel came in. I was told, «if we didn’t call, it is not here.» I asked if he could double check just in case or ask the service department. The employee replied, «No, we’ll call when it is in, there is no point in checking.» And then he hung up. I can understand he might have been busy but there area bout 100 better ways to have handled my call. All of which would have resulted in me being happy and them getting a sale. Can you guess if they ever called me? Guess my wheel hasn’t come in weeks later. Besides this bit of fun, there were things going on with other employees that almost made we walk out in the first place. So the level of service is in need of drastic improvement at this location.
