The New City Line

I’m always leery when I see a restaurant with high ratings, but only a few reviews, and this is one of those places. I’m sure it’s a great place for regulars and to meet up with your friends for a few cheep brews, but it’s not that great if you’re an out of towner looking for a meal.
The fish fry was alright. The haddock fillet was decent sized and it was pretty good the way they fried it up, but I wasn’t a fan of their fries. They seemed like those frozen crinkle fries that you buy at the store. They did appear to have waffle fries as well, but I was never given that option when I ordered.
The worst thing about this place is that you can still smoke indoors. I can’t wait for PA to catch up with the rest of the nation because the smell of cigarettes is really offsetting to the taste of food and I don’t like smelling like an ashtray after going out for a meal.

The «line» is one of my favorite places to get a great Sicilian sandwich. It’s huge and packed full of yummy goodness. The side dip of sweet onion vidalia sauce is the dipping secret to this sandwich. I add mushrooms to mine and that makes the taste out of this world. I order a side of waffle fries to share. I have never had a bad meal here. They do allow smoking but not during the dinner hours. On Friday nights there is live music and Saturdays karaōke. They also run food specials everyday. If your looking for a Friday or Saturday night out get there early. After 9:30 it’s standing room only.

I only gave this place two-​stars because, although the food is good, they still allow smoking in here and it just ruins everything. Everything reeks of cigarette smoke and it just makes the food seem like an afterthought for drunken patrons. Adopt a «no smoking» policy and then you’d have something here.

We come here for the fish fry usually and have never been disappointed. Fried fish, fried fries, and a cold beer and you’ll leave with a smile. The service is excellent, especially considering this place is a bar in every sense of the word!
They also have live music a lot, so if you don’t want music blaring in your ears, come early, but if you don’t feel like talking with your dinner partners, come late!

I have contemplated eating at the New City Line for quite a long time. After all, it is the home of the deep fried pickle. I often times go for a burger at new places I try… odd maybe, but I love burgers and it is a level playing field to judge the restaurants against other restaurants.
I would say that this is one of the best burgers in Bradford and filling. Another benefit, they actually have good french fries.
