The worst service ever; both on the phone and with deliveries. Usually would get a rude, abrupt female who rushed me off the phone; then I would wait forever for the delivery. I don’t mind waiting if the food is good; the pizza was typically good enough; however, overdone most of the time complete with burnt crust. Tremendously overpriced. will not order from there again; the owners clearly do not care about the service issues or they would do something. Recommend you just go to Abate in North Branford

Plain and simple: good food, awful service. I thought for sure that the other Unilocal reviewers went on a bad night or had no patience, but I’m not exaggerating when I say the service couldn’t get one thing right. I went with my family and we were very hungry for some good new haven style pizza. If we were on a time crunch we would have walked out of the restaurant for how long it took to get anything… Some salads never even came out. Something was forgotten on every dish/pizza. Again, we were lenient… The servers(s) were young girls and they were very nice but just couldn’t grasp the concept of writing things down. The star of the night was the white pizza with canelini beans, escarole, and mozz. We asked for pepperoni too but it was forgotten. It was still delicious and the crust was PERFECT. Next time I’m in town I will order take out instead of dining in because it is worth it.

We used to order a pie from here once a week. Every week when we call to place an order the person is incredibly rude and nearly every time the order has been wrong. We like to support our local businesses but unfortunately due to their horrible customer service we will be taking our business elsewhere.

Great New Haven style pizza. Quick service, very pleasant atmosphere. Not over priced. I had a pizza with peppers, crust was not over cooked.

The place was ok. The service was good. The pizza was terrible. I asked if they use fresh clams on their pizza. The waitress said yes. We ordered a small white clam pizza, half with mozzarella, half without. The dough was pretty tasteless, the clams were fishy & rubbery. Definitely not cut fresh there. Boooo.

Service is always slow, pizza is always burned, and way over priced. I’ve tried a few pasta dishes and the sauce is pretty bad.

This place is absolutely awful… My delivery took 2 ½ hrs to finally get my house, where 10 of us were waiting on food. The food and pizza were ice cold and the drinks had obviously been sitting in the hot sun for days. I called to complain and this guy Matt, who claimed to be owner, laughed, cussed me out, and hung up the phone. Last but definitely not least, I did not leave a tip and they decided to just write themselves a $ 30 tip. I WILLNEVEREATHEREAGAIN.

I honestly didn’t think I could find a good pizza outside of New Haven but I was wrong. Pacileo’s has consistently given us amazing, delicious pizza. They have a perfect sauce & their dough is always fresh. Tonight I had a meatball calzone and it was deserving of 4.5 stars. Try it out… you won’t be disappointed.

There is no reason to order a pizza from Pacileos no matter what. Upon pulling up, I saw what could only be described as a drug deal between an employee and a shady vehicle. There were 14 year olds smoking cigarettes right outside the door as well. I got the pizza, which at this point was cold, and drove home upset, vowing never to return.

EXCELLENT polite, attentive service, young waitress with a side braid. Unlike previous takeout orders, our server was not rude at all! Great pizza. $ 10.95 for a greek salad that was about the same size of a side salad with store bought dressing. Half the tomatoes were too soft to eat. Not impressed. Leftover pizza was piled up to go on a paper plate with plastic wrap, put in a paper bag. I left over half my large pizza, which cost around $ 20, you would think I could at least get a box???

Can I give 0 stars? Overpriced= yes. Getting the order right= no. This is a ‘pizza to go kinda joint’ with fancy restaurant prices. No atmospher– a little on the dirty side, old dated look. Food is Ehhh – have had much better and when the check comes= WoW are effin’ kiddin’ me? And then… wait for it. Left over pizza? Well if you want to take it home… they put it all on a small paper plate, slice upon slice and wrap it with plastic wrap. What you’re left with is a paper dish of mush. Disgusting. Plus, the help can be rude with that ’ who needs you as a customer’ attitude. Sorry… just sayin’.

If I were just reviewing the pizza I’d give it 4 possibly 5 stars, BUT you just can’t overlook the rude service and miserable attitudes of the folks who work there. I’m sorry you chose to go into a service industry and obviously hate your job, but don’t be nasty to paying customers, just sad. Stick with Marcos Pizza in Branford, far better experience and the owner worked at Pepes for 20+ years.

I just ate a small broccoli pizza from here that totally hit the spot. Crispy crust, herbs and spices, delicious cheese. My girlfriend wasn’t impressed but I liked it.

I thought maybe it was just me, but after reading other reviews, I feel so validated. I think they’re pizza is pretty damn good, but unfortunately for them they’ve lost another customer — a regular customer who picked up a pie weekly! Not only did I call 25 minutes in advance on a weekday, but I waited another 15 minutes inside the place standing awkwardly next to a couple who was dining there because there was no other place to stand. Everyone behind the counter was curt and rushed and snippy, like they all hated each other, hated me and hated life. I can think of a million ways I’d rather spend my money.

Stay away from the delivery. Their customer service and delivery speed is awful. While the food is good at the restaurant, we have so far had two awful experiences with their delivery.

When your out-of-state friends ask you to take them for New Haven pizza, there’s really no need to drive them down to Wooster Street. Instead take them to Pacileo’s. This little pizza joint near the Branford Point makes the quintessential New Haven pizza. Their pizza excels at exhibiting all the key characteristics of a New Haven pizza: Extremely sloppy, messy, and flimsy Heavy & very stretchy mootz Chewy crust Oily Charred crust in several spots No garlic I’ve had their pizza several times and every time it’s been amazingly good. Today was no exception. If I could have inhaled the slices through my nose I would have. And if anybody tried to grab one of my slices I would have easily gnawed off their arm. Nice imagery, huh? Pacileo’s pizza is made in the style of Grand Apizza and Ernie’s Pizza in New Haven, meaning it’s slightly thicker than the giants on Wooster Street. Plus, it’s not as charred. They have both dine-in and take-out. Now some pizza die hards might think I’m crazy but Pacileo’s might very well give Marco’s Pizzeria a run for its money as supreme pizza king of Branford.

I’ve really tried to like Pacileo’s because it’s so close to our house. When they added delivery, I really wanted it to become a great standby place for us for nights when we didn’t feel like cooking. However, it just didn’t work out that way. First of all, it’s relatively expensive compared to the other pizza places in town. The pizza is good, but not quite as good as the price would indicate. Add to that a charge for delivery – and the fact that we’d obviously tip the delivery guy – and it becomes silly expensive for delivery pizza. And even then, it’s so close to the house that I might just do takeout, but they range from rude to downright nasty when you call, and they’re bad about time estimates. So you end up with a pretty stressful experience, between calling and not knowing if you’re going to get somebody on the phone who’s just in a rush or who’s going to be full-on nasty, to showing up and standing in a noisy restaurant awkwardly for 15 minutes because your pizza isn’t ready yet. I’ll probably try them again at some point, but so far, every single experience I’ve had with them has been decent at best.
