Vegan food in a mall? Yes PLEASE. ask for samples! they’re very generous with the portions and very friendly :) I really like the eggplant and tofu. Their nachos aren’t bad either. Because it’s in the mall, the menu is a bit smaller than other loving huts

The loving hut on Tustin is way better than this location… my food was disgusting and stale I threw out my meal after one bite.

Horrible service. My food was cold. I hope this place shuts down. I was her one customer and the lady was giving me attitude about trying too many samples! You know I’m at a food court and can walk away right? I’m literally throwing away my food it was that bad. Luckily I found the 5 bucks I paid it with.

The service here is terrible. The elderly woman actually yelled at me when I asked for a hot dog. She told me to go to Aunt Annie’s! I had to explain to her I wanted a vegan hot dog. the same that they use for the«chili dogs» on her menu, but without the chili. It really wasn’t as complicated as she made it, and she surely didn’t need to tell me to go to the pretzel stand. Either way I tried that controversial hot dog and the spring rolls. they were both disgusting. I won’t come back.

I really enjoy eating at the Loving Hut. It is basically a Vegan version of «Panda Express» My favorite dishes are the following: The Orange Tenders– It is basically similar to Orange Chicken, but instead they use cauliflower and coat it in batter and serve it with orange sweet sauce. The Eggplant and Tofu– It is Eggplant slices sauteed with chili, garlic and herbs, and then mixed with Tofu. I usually come here because it is healthy, tasty and pretty cheap. They use low fat olive oil in their cooking as well, so it isn’t as fatty as other restaurants who use heavy vegetable oil. Overall I am a fan of the Loving hut, its one of the healthier places to eat at the Brea mall food court!

Oh Loving Hut, I love you but you still need some work. You have you great points; You are close to my house, easy locatable in the Brea mall food court, have descent vegan food at okay prices, and you are trying to encourage vegetarian/healthy foods, but you still let me down sometimes. For example, when I first tried your food, i tried your Orange Chicken. Now I love Loving Hut in Upland’s orange chicken/sweet and sour chicken dishes. They are made nice and crispy with a «meaty» center. Brea’s however, is made with cauliflower, and is mushy. Not nearly as tasty. I wish they could call up the Upland chain and get there recipe! Do not give up on LH just on that alone however, there is a solution to this. I have experienced the tofu issues a lot of others have described. Just remember there are so many other dishes to try, just try them. If you eat at LH, try there burger/grill specials you will enjoy them much more than tofu dishes. I have tried the pineapple burger with fries and hibiscus tea thought. Everything in that combo was out of this world. My mom(open-minded omnivore) tried the vegan chilli dog and even thought it was very soft(mom liked it that way) it was also out of this world. See? There is still hope! Try a burger and you love LH, the way I do. Summary: Tofu/Chicken Dishes need work, but Try the grill specials and you will be sold.

I normally don’t have too many negative comments but this place I would NEVER go here again! I was expected to have decent choices but all it is tofu, and veggie options like Panda Express saturated in too much sauce. I had the spicy tofu, eggplant tofu, & bok choy which had NOFLAVOR. I only ate half of my meal threw away the rest! Gross, a waste of $ 10, & not nutritious!

I have been to this restaurant several times in the last couple of months. I always order from the steam table and get one item with rice, noodles and cauliflower served with a sweet and sour sauce, resembles orange chicken. Really good! I really like their fried rice. Plus the lady there was friendly, and they always have samples. One time I ordered from the steam table but this time I thought I would try another item, the spicy tofu. Bad choice! It was plain yet salty, I was so hungry but still couldn’t finish it. I regret not taking a sample. I would like to try their sandwiches and burgers.

I’ve been walking the malls. Twice on top floor and once on bottom floor. New work out routine. At the finish line you get to eat! Loving Hut is the«healthy» choice. I like the fried cauliflower and tofu potato curry.

Ok, so I realized that I may have been a little unfair in my first review. Someone messaged me on here and pointed out something I actually realized shortly after posting my original review. The stuff I talked about probably wasn’t actually beef, but most likely a faux-beef substitute. I think the way she phrased things just threw me off a bit; saying they didn’t have tofu available and if I wanted beef just confused me(let’s be honest, I was exhausted and not thinking clearly that day. So, I added a star because it wasn’t «eek”-worthy, it just didn’t taste good to me. I have been to multiple vegetarian/vegan places and had dishes with meat substitutes and the food here just wasn’t as good. Maybe I just didn’t like their faux-beef; maybe if I had been able to have what I originally ordered I might have liked that better. Still don’t think I will be going back to this particular location but I wouldn’t mind trying the food from a different one.

Nice vegetarian restaurant in a food court. Seating was scarce, noise level was really loud and the food was a little to pricey for what you get. But the quality and flavor of the food was good. I would like to go back but I am not a fan of food court style dining.

Honestly, skip this location and go to Loving Hut’s Orange restaurant. The food does not look as appetizing as it should be. I usually get the brown rice and eggplant & tofu at the Orange location. Here at Brea, they serve a huge amount of rice, and only 8 oz. worth of entrée(for I believe, $ 5.75−5.95?) – not worth it compared to the $ 8 – 9 entrée that looks more decent at Orange. They charged me about $ 2 extra just so I can get one mini scoop more…): Basically this place is the vegetarian/vegan counterpart of a Pick-Up Stix/Panda Express. If you want healthier vegetarian food, go to Rutabegorz in Fullerton, and I believe Healthy Junk in Anaheim is all vegan that serves superior food quality. The two lackeys they hired need to be talked about by whoever manages this place ASAP… they need to get their attitude checked out and learn proper customer/guest service.

I have been wanting to try Loving Hut for a long time! Several of my friends have told me great things about this place and because I love to eat healthy(sometimes), I was curious to see how this place would fare with my über-picky taste buds. Welps, I am happy to report that this place passes the test! Loving Hut is pretty much like a vegan version of Panda Express, which is actually located just a few food stands across the court. Their portion sizes are EXTREMELY generous and their staff is very helpful!!! The cashier was super friendly and let me try a bunch of different samples, so I could make an informed decision, which I really appreciated! I tried the sweet and sour cauliflower. Think sweet and sour chicken, but much healthier and lighter! I also had the«beef» broccoli, which was pretty good and surprisingly didn’t make me miss real beef too much! All of their combinations come with your choice of rice or noodles, but the cashier said that she could mix half and half of both! Both the rice and the noodles are pretty plain, but it’s always great to have carbs with any meal! :) Overall, I would totally come back here! Their hibiscus plum tea is also really interesting — it almost tastes like a fizzy lemonade!

If I could give this place LESS than 1 star, believe me I would. I’ve been there twice. I never should’ve gone back after the first time when I found a piece of plastic in my chow mein and they didn’t even offer to give me my money back, but I did. Last night, my husband and I went there. He ordered the philly cheese and I ordered the falafel. I thought upon ordering that I was going to regret this and I did. The food was terrible. First off they ran out of pita and put my falafel on a french roll. The veggies in my falafel were wilted and creepy. Both of our boxes of food were soggy. And let me just make a comment specifically about it in terms of vegan food… This place was absolutely the most terrible vegan food I’ve ever had. I guess there are two types of vegans, those who do it for health and those who do it for the animals. If you’re doing it for the animals, you might not think this place is that bad, but if you’re doing it for health, stay away. This is just fast food without animal products. And my last rant? I have a food service background. I glanced behind the counter. EVERYTHING comes from Smart n Final. Including the ketchup packets put in our boxes(that contained corn syrup). Bottom line, this may be «vegan» but it’s still fast food and it’s far from healthy. Don’t waste your money.

Went there yesterday for lunch, around 1:00 pm. Well, I guess I mush have ordered the wrong dish since so many other people seem to like their food, BUT shouldn’t all their food be of equal quality? This review is for the eggplant, vegetable and tofu entrée and the green beans with the noodles instead of the rice. Plain and simple, it was horrible — all of it. Bland and full of grease at the same time. Just nasty. They must have not used ANY seasoning, not even salt because it sure was tasteless. But the worst part was the heavy use of oil, making it all glistening. This is supposed to be healthy food! My new friend had the same thing and she didn’t like it either. I would have complained but it was the first time we were having lunch together and I didn’t want to possibly embarrass her because I don’t know her very well. So we each ate about 5 bites because we were starving, but that was it. We also had a Thai ice tea. So for the two-item combo and one Thai ice tea, it came to $ 10.25. OUCH! It’s bad enough to have lousy food, but to have to pay that much made it extra painful. It was partially my mistake. I thought I was ordering the two-item combo with a drink for $ 7.75, but that was only for soda and that didn’t register with me when I ordered. OK, so even $ 7.75 was too much! Oh, and the Thai ice tea was nothing to write home about either. Drinkable, but certainly not ‘good’. Needless to say, with all the other choices in the food court, we will not be going back to this place. As we were leaving and walking past the other food places, we were saying how the mongolian BBQ place would have been better. It smelled so good and I was still very hungry, so I was glad to get out of there. Never again.

I’ve been here several times and this past Sunday was by far the best I’ve ever experienced — the food was perfectly flavorful, arrived quickly(from the grill), and still hot! Chef must have had a good day. Staff too, everyone was all smiles. I got the Crispy Taco of the Sea and Spicy Fries, the former being my favorite. The taco’s name is misleading because I thought it would come with a hard shell and vegan fish, but it’s actually a soft shell taco with vegan chicken. If you love sauce like I do, make sure you ask for extra. The fries were thick cut an seasoned, it also came with generous heaping of chili on the side. The chili is spicy and contains lot of soy protein bits for a beef-like texture. Also tried their thai tea with soy creamer and boba, I’m not a fan of their tapioca pearls, but the drink itself was very tasty. Definitely looking forward to ordering from the grill again.

I really like their tofu and eggplant even more than panda express’. It’s a must try. I just dont reccommend their brown rice fried rice, it was too oily that its the only time i felt guilty about eating brown rice. The chow mein is bland and I needed to put almost two packets of soy sauce in it… but then again, I do like salt and some may prefer unsalted dishes. A combo will set you back under $ 6…now thats a good deal at Brea mall. I may try this place again… well especially for the tofu eggplant.

My coworker and I had been wanting to try Loving Hut because vegan food sounded really interesting to try, especially since neither of us are big on veggies. Loving hut has locations all over, but the brea one is more of an express rather than a sit down restaurant, which means the food is already premade. I got the orange«chicken» with fried rice, noodles and kung pao«chicken». It’s a bit pricey for mall food($ 7.07) but the serving was actually pretty large. Oh and we got a fresh batch of the orange chicken by the way. The orange chicken was crispy, sweet and tangy. You can tell it isn’t chicken but I didn’t mind in the least. In fact, I discovered that the chicken is actually cauliflower! Imagine that ?! My coworker liked it as well. The fried rice flavorful, and the texture of the rice had a lot more chew to it. Kind of the same toughness you get from brown rice. The noodles reminded me of filipino pancit. Kung pao was decent, but nothing spectacular. Unfortunately, much of the food was really greasy, almost comparable the amount of shine you’d find in a panda express dish. That aside, I’d definitely go back for some more of that orange cauliflower… er chicken.

Vegan Mall Food(Court), 15% off Grand Opening. Staff very friendly. I think I should have gone for the large buffet of Chinese Food but I decided to try the Philly Cheesesteak because the staff member said it was a popular choice. : Edit: The Thai Iced Tea was good, it’s been confirmed that it is in fact soy, not dairy. And even though they serve white bread for some items, those have also been confirmed to be completely vegan. I guess for a typical consumer who isn’t vegan, one can never be too sure, but now I know for sure.(o: On to the food. It was realllly salty. It was so salty I couldn’t even really taste the food. So. I’m not sure exactly what it was I ate. It just *looked* like I was eating a sandwich. The fries were haphazardly salt & peppered. Too much on some pieces, not enough on others. Maybe they should have gone with smaller salt crystals. They tasted okay overall though, crispy, a little thicker than In-N-Out but not quite steak style. Good. GREAT idea, but kinda salty.

My friend Isela and I decided to check this place out. At first I thought it was hilarious that there is a vegan place located next to Taco Bell. I was also relieved… ahhh at last somewhere that I can eat at the mall. The waitstaff was friendly and somewhat helpful. They have a variety of Asian cuisine they can serve up on the spot or you can order from the menu. I sampled the orange«chicken» and it was pretty tasty, but opted for something healthier as a meal. My friend and I ordered the singer salad. It was okay, but nothing to write home about. Iceberg lettuce, cabbage, & carrots with a vinaigrette dressing. Dressing was good. I left feeling kind of ripped off though $ 7.25 for iceberg lettuce.
