We love the catfish here! We’ve eaten here a couple of times and best catfish we’ve had. The batter is great! The shrimp is also a favorite. We order and pick up at the drive thru as the place is small, but we prefer that anyway. Good sized portions!

I can’t say enough about this little diner! The best Shrimp and Oyster Po-Boys in the world! Best Burgers, Fries and Onion Rings! Shrimp Salad! Don’t forget the All You Can Eat Fried Catfish! The food always taste like they just changed the oil! Fresh and never greasy, I drive 26 miles to get there, and I have never been disappointed! Been coming here ever since they opened up their doors!

First of all let me say I really like Breaux Bridge and its nearby food options. This is a gem of a foodie town. I had this place bookmarked for a long time and stopped by for lunch on a return trip from Mississippi. It is a small restaurant that may seat about 25 people inside. I ordered a full size po boy with ½ shrimp and the other half with oysters for $ 8.29 which is a very good price. I decided not to get fries and only a drink. The food came out almost 15 minutes later. I liked my sandwich. The bread was very fresh. The shrimp were good(3) and the oysters were slightly better(3.5) in my opinion. I give an overall score of a 3 because this is a good po boy that I would order again. Here in Breaux Bridge you expect good food and I got it here. Counter service only. Parking out front.

We got off in Breaux Bridge to find some lunch and used Unilocal to find a place. Oh my goodness, we were led the right direction! The shrimp po’boy was delicious! And my husbands oyster po’boy was too. The shrimp was cooked just right, so tender. My husband and I have traveled over 2,500 in last week and I’ve Unilocaled many places. Been very happy. The woman at the counter wasn’t too friendly. I saw that she had been reading a People magazine and I was about to throw away a similar type mag so I offered it to her and she perked up and then offered me hers, so we traded! I didn’t expect that. Now I have a full tummy and fresh reading for the road.

Very small and intimate café full of local flavor. Shrimp and oyster Poboy were great! Definitely a good place to eat.

Worst employees ever!!! So rude I would never step inside again! Lady who took my order was mean so was outdone only by woman who brought my order.

Stopped in for lunch on the way to Baton Rouge. We were told about this place by a nice man in Lafayette and he was right… the burgers are big and really good! Super fresh bread, too. We will definitely be back!

Best Po’ Boy sandwich ever! We had oyster, shrimp, and fish Po’ Boys. All on a delicious baguette, served with lettuce and tasty coleslaw. Place gets crowded at lunch time and seating is limited. Order is made at the counter and brought to your table. If you’re ever in the area, check it out!

I have eaten shrimp po-boys all over the south as I am from the south, but LeCafe has shrimp po-boys that exceed any I have ever had before! The shrimp were amazingly tender with perfect light flaky crispy crust. Oysters were cooked to perfection in a corn meal coating. Onion rings were fresh, tender, light and perfect. The bread is the softest, freshest bread in the world! Service was quick. It is an unassuming down home atmosphere. We will never pass this place by again… ever!

This is still the best catfish in the world. I highly recommend that you stop in this cute little town if you are passing through to/from N. O or visiting Lafayette.

My landlady has people out this way and we went on a little road trip last weekend with her. The place is small — maybe half a dozen tables and you order at the counter and get served on styrofoam plates. What we were doing there was see, we went camping at Fausse Pointe State Park and that morning, we got a personal«Wild Kingdom» show: a red-tailed hawk swooped down into this large mud puddle(left over from the flooding the week before) and pulled out a big-ass catfish and proceeded to have a hearty breakfast whilst we toasted wheat bread on a Coleman stove and watched. So when lunch rolled around and even though po boys are fairly represented on the menu we were all about the catfish platters. I’m fond of the less thin(can’t really call it «fat» cause it’s still on the lean side) catfish at Middendorf’s but lately I’ve been judging all catfish by the lunch portion at Herbsaint, which is a plump plank indeed. Lecafe isn’t going to out-plump Herbsaint but then it’s not going to cost half as much, either. And the corn meal coating is spot on — there’s seasoning and a crunch without detracting from the fish itself. Me and my better half shared a plate that came with 4 good-sized pieces of catfish, 6 fried oysters(not the best ever but still good), fries, and two sides(why my better half chose a double-dose of corn while I was in the facilities, I’ll never know) all for $ 12. It was plenty for two normal-sized adults who like to eat and planned on being hungry again come dinner-time. My only regret is that hush puppies were not an option. I also sampled the cole slaw and the fried shrimp at our table and it was all really tasty. I know not everyone is lucky enough to have people to visit Breaux Bridge with, but you know me(kinda) and I know someone so get out there and explore the wonders of Cajun country! And tell ‘em Cindy and Bruno Melancon sent you(even though they didn’t really… not directly, at least) because 1) you may be served by one of their relatives and 2) it will be funny if a bunch of people do it and word gets back to them.

I know PoorBoys were started in New Orleans and most spots that have them are really good. Well if you are ever in town and you’re hungry for one come here. Not only are they great but they are loaded with whatever you ordered… shrimp, oysters you get the picture. New orleans good right here in Breaux Bridge!!! Not expensive either. This place will not disapoint. There is place to sit and eat also. Nothing fancy but comfortable and clean. It’s on the street that you exit from I-10 so it;s easy to find. Enjoy
