Let me set the record straight about Hair Razors.
Yes, these people can cut hair but they are not up to date on the current trends of hair cutting and/​or hair styling. Ask any of them the last time they went to a class on cutting hair to learn all the new trends. Chances are they’ll say years ago. A good hair stylist is somebody who is always up on the trends and can always best cater to the client.
I came here years ago and I’ve had such a bad experience with this place so many times that I would never in a million years recommend it to anybody who wanted a stylish hair cut that wasn’t dated.
I used to go to Judy quite frequently as a kid. She’s actually really good at little kid haircuts, I’ll give her that, but too many times she has flubbed up my hair and then had the nerve to blame me for not having my head down enough. I’ve had other hair stylists since then cut my hair perfectly even with my head not being down enough.
There were two instances with my hair that was so humiliating that not only did that not offer a refund when it happened, but she didn’t even fix it when I pointed out her error and that to me, is shitty salon management (no refunds, wtf) and shitty customer service. At most salons if you’re unhappy with your hair they’ll fix it for free, but not here so don’t think you’re special and that they will for you.
I used to have straight bangs or as I used to call them «full frontal bangs.» She cut my bangs not in a straight line like you’re supposed to, but in a wavy line. My full frontal bangs were cut with a wave in them, I even have the school pictures to prove it. It was the worst hair cut ever and I didn’t think it could get worse.
But oh my, did it ever. A few years after that I had grown my full frontal bangs out and wanted to go with sideswept bangs. This was the popular trend of that time and I really wanted to look fashionable. She took all my bangs in one bunch and cut straight across and called it side swept bangs. That’s not what they are. I know jack crap about hair, but even I know a side swept bangs is a bang cut at an angle with some texture put in it with scissors (if that’s what you ask for). I had shown her a picture of what I wanted and she gave me the exact opposite!
I was in tears. I couldn’t believe it and it was once again, another hard and humiliating hair cut to grow out.
I have never gone back because why go to a salon that is so outdated with their techniques that they can’t even give you what you asked for repeatedly? Not to mention, no refunds or free fixes,

Elaine Furtado is amazing! Every other hair stylist I’ve gone to has always tried to make my naturally wavy/​curly hair straight. What a difference it made to get my hair cut by someone who actually knew how to handle wavy/​curly hair. Not only is she well trained, she is down to earth and personable. She is very reasonably priced and conveniently located. Love love love Elaine!
