Wow! So glad I found this place in Bridgeport. Excellent quality all around. We have tried the catfish, fried shrimp, chicken fried steak, fried chicken, and burgers — all were excellent. Everything tastes like its truly homemade. I have seen some folks complain about the french fries but I suspect they are comparing these homemade fries to all of the frozen fries in other restaurants — the fries clearly taste homemade like my Mom used to make for my family and like my wife makes now. Their green beans and other veggies are wonderful and they dish up a great peach cobbler. The service has always been excellent — sometimes a little shower when they are very busy but that is understandable. We will return again and again.

Great chicken fried chicken and chicken fried steak. Good okra, not from a bag (I don’t think). Service was friendly and casual. One star off because one of the worker’s kids (or grandkids) were in the booth behind us making a racket and kicking the back of our booth and nobody stopped them. But again, this is a casual place.
I’d go again for sure!

Five star service, two star menu and food. Seat yourself or wait to be seated, they’re very casual here. Almost like a southern BBQ picnic restaurant. Salad bar has a great selection but you only get a small bread plate for salad unless you order only salad. Chicken fried steak had a good southern salty gravy but the steak was a tad tough.
Good food for being in a small southern town, but it would be average and overpriced if it was closer to the metroplex.

We have been hearing about the Atomic Rooster for a while now so decided to take the family for dinner last Saturday evening and had a great time the food was amazing and the staff was just like family was a great experience we will be going back. Thanks again and the bread pudding is to die for

I have eaten here a few times and always enjoyed my food and service. This visit had many pluses but a few misses. I ordered chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes & gravy, green beans, roll, and salad bar. The steak was good, as were the green beans. The salad bar is excellent! The roll was very good with the salty, buttery topping. Now for the misses-​the mashed potatoes were cold. The rest of the meal was hot. The gravy was just not to my liking. Strange consistency and just not very good. Overall I like this place and will eat here again. Just no more potatoes and gravy!

My favorite part is the salad bar. They are so hard to find and this one has a lot of choices. The food is delicious and wait staff is young, but very nice. Worth a trip.

We were impressed with this little gem. The service was good and the food even better. The portion sizes are huge. Even the half portions were to much for one person. I love the salad bar. It’s a true salad bar not a buffet. Next time we will try and save room for the pies.

I live locally and had only eaten here once a couple of years ago. We decided to try it again tonight and weren’t disappointed! The service and food were amazing!

Stopped here for lunch and glad I did. I had the chicken fried chicken, green beans, pinto beans, and a roll (picture is posted). The best CFC I had in a long time. I also had some peach cobbler that was pretty good. Will definitely be back. If you ever been to a little country restaurant that’s what this will remind you of décor wise. I like it but some people gotta have the flair of those chain restaurants. I’d rather have a good meal.

My husband’s company «Divine Audio Visual» has been revamping «The Bridgeport Stage» all week and today, took a well deserved lunch break when I got in town, and tried the local flare.
Atomic Rooster is really something special — great atmosphere, friendly and attentive staff and really delicious food. We all had burgers and each got a different side to share with the group — though I must say — the Rooster Chips take the cake! All the food was prepared hot and fresh and tasted excellent.
Whenever we roll down 380 this is going to be the place to stop! Highly recommended for any locals and for travelers. You won’t be disappointed!

Great home cooking. Good small town feel small menu but famous for wings. Will come back for the chicken strips from scratch.
