Extended Stay America – St. Louis – Airport – Central

I’m currently at the extended stay for an extended stay while in training for work. Not really sure where to start… The customer service is all show, the ladies at the front desk are extremely nice, but generally aren’t willing to go the distance and treat you like a true customer. They know that our employer has a contract with the business, and we aren’t going anywhere. The rooms are disgusting. The whole hotel smells like cooking oil, which is understandable but if you aren’t prepared for it then it’s overwhelming. My non-​smoking room had cigarettes ashes behind the unit next to the bed. Luckily the next day they took care of the ashes and cleaned the room on a non-​room service day. The cabinets are barely hanging on. One of the stove tops doesn’t work. The window has barely any seal, so if it’s extremely cold outside then the heater will run all night long. The beds have a very gross feeling to them. The carpets are old and run down and need replacing.
When staying here you have to realize this is not a hotel. It’s a place to live for an «extended stay.» I would never bring my family here.

WORST TRIP OF MY LIFE! The shuttle drivers, except for one, were constantly LATE! I was left sitting for an hour at a time waiting and late for my work because of their inconsistencies. If you have to stay at this hotel be sure it’s only for a day or two. Longer and you’ll want to jump off a cliff!

The hotel is a convenient location to Lambert Field and shopping. It is fairly priced and kept clean.
But when I brought the staff a nail which I stepped in in my room in my bare feet, the staff was quick to try and place the blame on me stating that I or another guest staying with me may have dropped it on my floor. (a photo of the nail will be added shortly)
Only after three attempts of this staff member almost accusing me of being at fault for stepping on the nail, did she express any concern that I might have hurt my bare foot.
This hotel needs to replace its complacent staff with new, more guest focused personnel. Until then, one star is generous.

Bad: One of the worst, if not the worst, hotel I have ever stay at. Baby cockroaches in my room. Old shrimp tails in drawers. Don’t take a shower in the morning because the water pressure is laughable. Email me and you can see a video of how bad it is. Hallways constantly smell like cigarette smoke even though I’m pretty sure all rooms are non smoking and other illegal drugs. Staff seems to not care about any of these issues when brought up to them. «Breakfast» is laughable
Good: full size kitchen in each room. Good location close to airport.
