Hands down worst experience I’ve ever had in a bar. Apparently the bald bartender with glasses didn’t want me to pay with a credit card because he gave me two tiny glasses of vodka soda for $ 18(while everyone else had large plastic cups for mixed drinks). He then said something under his breath and flat out refused to serve me on my trip back to get something different for the next round. If you didn’t want to be a bartender, you should have learned an actual trade or went to school like everyone else. I have lived in Brighton since June, and now I know why I’ve never been to this dump before.

You guys wouldn’t believe what happened at trivia the other Wednesday guys. One of the final questions was«who was the only actor to be nominated for two posthumous Oscar awards». My friend turns to us all and is like«guys this its totally Paul Walker». He said that with a straight face! None of us could stop laughing at him. He was all like«But people really loved those Fast and Furious movies». What an idiot. We answered James Dean, which was the correct answer(obviously). The trivia here on Wednesdays is fun. They have a decent beer selection. Sit at the bar though, the service kinda sucks at the tables. Also don’t bring my friend on your team, kid is dumb as rocks.

Went to the Brighton Beer Garden the other night before the pats game to grab some beers with my friends… Got to say I was pretty disappointed considering the place has so much potential. We grabbed some pitchers of beer and as the bartender was pouring we noticed swarms of fruit flies. As we got the pitchers there were 2 flies in them… The beer selection was great as I love Hoponious Union from Jacks Abby but I also noticed from previously working in a bar that their lines have not been cleaned recently from the slight off taste of the beer. It’s a great space and close by which is why I’m writing this review hoping they clean their lines, table tops and get rid of the fruit flies!

Here right now for the Seahawks-Packers game. Atmospheres not too bad, street parking was easy enough. There’s a good amount of people here but it’s not too crazy. I ordered a water 25 minutes ago. Followed up about it ten minutes ago. Still not here. I’m getting kind of thirsty… EDIT: ten more minutes later, my friends beer has finally arrived. Still no water… EDIT2: 45 minutes after the initial order, my food finally arrived. It’s pretty ok. Spicy fries are good. My boyfriend’s fries haven’t shown up. Everyone’s beer tastes flat and gross. I had to ask the runner for water again but he came back with it right away. He gets this rating bumped up to two stars. Thanks man. LASTEDIT: Service here is still pretty crappy. We finally got the check after another 40 minutes passed since we got our food. I could’ve used another water for those spicy fries but hey, I didn’t have all night. Took a while to pick up the check after we put cards down but at least we’re out of there. Probably not gonna come back unless I have an entire day and night to kill and am not hungry or thirsty.

Been sitting here for 30 minutes. PRETTYHUNGRY and my food doesn’t seem like it’s coming any time soon. Luckily, after 25 minutes, my beer finally came: it tastes like they poured it from the tap, into a bucket full of pig poop, and then into the glass. Don’t come here. Update: beer still sucks, food came after 50 minutes and is completely mediocre. Still don’t come here.

Went in, nobody sat us. Bartender told us to sit anywhere so we sit down, wait 10 minutes to get menus and water, and then waited for another 15 minutes. Nobody came over to us so we left. Terrible service.

Brighton Beer Garden is more of a sports bar than a beer haven or restaurant. While it is both of those, it focuses more on having sports and watching events than too much the food or the beer. However, the menu doesn’t skimp on food not beer, as there is a wide selection of both. The draft menu is limited, as there’s a larger bottled beer selection. Some of the apps are large enough for meals and like any sports place, BBG has wings. In the end, you may grab a drink there during the next baseball or football game.

Well there is a decent draft selection… I’m not sure what was going in in here, but I think a chef or manager(who was very nice) took our order after waiting about 15 minutes for a sign of life. Food wasn’t terrible, but then again I was totally starving. I’ve been here a couple of times and I would definitely suggest sitting at the bar if you want any kind of service. Hostess was super sweet as well. I saw her busting her butt bussing tables! Good job, girl.

If I could rate this place 0 stars I would. Service is terrible. Food isn’t much better. The only reason I would return would be if they paid me. We had to track our service down to get the check after waiting with empty plates in front of us.

Beer is super expensive. $ 6.50 for a 16oz Yuengling is worse than any bar in Boston. The food is atrocious; got a turkey burger and nothing was redeeming about it. They don’t deserve any business; just another money sucking sports bar

I hate sports bars. This is such a prototype sports bar. So why am I giving it three stars, you ask? Well, two stars are just because it’s two blocks from my house. The extra star is for the excellent(and unexpectedly robust) draught beer selection. Best beer bar in Brighton Center is also the bro-iest, douchiest bar in Brighton Center. Can’t win ‘em all.

Let me start by saying it is the big and plentiful TVs for watching sports and the beer that brings us back each time. Its certainly NOT the extremely slow waitstaff– who come by once, MAYBE twice during your meal or the always too busy to take an order or close a tab out bartenders. People are looking for steady work all over Boston. Hire. More. Staff!!! Please! It is also not the food. The wings have floppy skin(unless the majority of people enjoy this and I’m wrong, wings should be crispy!!) and the burger I ordered was hard as a hockey puck. Interesting, since the Bruins were winning the game we were watching. Maybe the chef was inspired? But since we can walk to the Brighton Beer Garden, we will come back. But just to drink– when we are finally able to find a waitress.

Where to begin. I live down the street, and came in on a Thursday night with a couple of my friends for a couple beers and some food. We planned to sit at the bar but since there was some event which took up half the bar, we opted for a high-top table near the bar. We ordered some beers from the server when she finally came over. To our surprise the beers came out very quickly. We proceeded to place our food order and that’s when it really went downhill. Upon our first sip of the beer, we knew we did not get what we ordered, an IPA does not taste like a lager, but by then it was too late as our server was now be nowhere to be found. A couple of us just sucked it up and drank our wrong beer, as we were quite thirsty, the other had to exchange his wrong beer at the bar, to which the bartenders were more than happy to oblige. Our food took close to an hour for wings, chowder, a burger, and a sandwich, unacceptable. When we finally got the food the wings were dry and cold, the chowder had a congealed film on it, and the burger was crunchy and way overcooked(was ordered medium, came out very well done). I might have said something had our server came back around, but waiting another hour for the kitchen to remake it would have probably put me off the idea. We ate what we could stomach since we were very hungry after waiting an hour and grabbed the check as soon as the waitress was found again. Needless to say it was not an overall pleasant experience. Having come to BBG quite a few times before, I knew their food has always mediocre at best, but this was a new low. If the management ever gets to read this, your cooking staff and the servers are in serious need of replacement or at least re-training. Bottom line: If it weren’t within walking distance and they didn’t have their sports package, I would probably never come back, even then, I won’t be ordering food and will only sit at the bar.

Football glass for you Pats, Celtics, Bruins, Red Sox I must be a bro Oh Brighton Beer Garden, why do I keep coming to you? I guess it’s the giant TVs? The bro-atmosphere? The half off appetizers? Yep, definitely the half-off appetizers. Probably also because I know it’s the only place around that most consistently can handle a large group of people. It’s a HUGE bar. Easy standing, mingling, and overall enjoyment. Food is fine, but only when it’s on sale.

I live around the corner and end up going here a couple times a month for a few drinks or sometimes dinner. It’s a good place to meet up with other people because there’s a public parking lot(free) a few feet up the road. They do have a nice selection of beers at fair prices, and the food is pretty decent too. I’ve had probably 10 items there and by far the nachos are the best. Actually the nachos are some of the best that you’ll find anywhere in the area in my experience. On big sports nights it does get packed, which is good or bad depending on what you’re looking for, but overall I’d say that this is a solid place to go to relax with a couple beers. Friendly staff as well.

I live down the street and have been here 3 times — twice for food and a few beers. I have not run into the issues that many seem to around inflated tips and bad service, but maybe I’ve been lucky. Overall, solid place — 3 – 4 stars. It’s a sports bar and take it for what it’s worth — same with Tavern(although tavern has slightly better food). If you’re expecting a sports bar with sports bar-like food, that’s what you’re going to get at BBG and they do a pretty good job. I gotta say(and this is generic, not necessarily to these reviews) — I love the people who go to a sports bar and expect The Capital Grille. These pinheads then get on Unilocal and write about it like they’re a fine food expert and«gods gift to Unilocalers» It is what it is people — sorry the sports bar doesn’t have tar tar and a valet… Thanks for reading!

Maybe the burgers are good? The chili was perhaps some of the least inspired cuisine I’ve ever eaten, almost inedible: HUGE chunks of semi raw onion and green pepper dwarfed the luke warm, vaguely spiced beans and fairly inconspicuous meat. The chips weren’t even that good. My date’s fries were ok– her wrap was pretty bad. All in all– come for the beer and avoid the food. (the server was very nice and punctual. No complaints on that tip)

The service was pretty sub-par. I got a table while waiting for my friends, and the waitress was all over me to order. As soon as my friends showed up, she was nowhere to be seen for upwards of 20 minutes, and would disappear for great lengths of time throughout our visit. The beer selection was decent, with some variety. I can’t complain there. The food was pricy, and not worth it. The chicken tender appetizer($ 10) included 4 middle school cafeteria style nuggets. We asked for 2 different sauces, and got none. We asked two more times but still never got any sauce. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger, done medium, and got a regular cheeseburger well done. It was lukewarm, dry and bland. The sweet potato fries seemed like they would have been delicious if they had gotten to me before they became cold and soggy. I left a low(10%) tip due to the poor service, but when the charge went through on my card, extra had been added bringing it up to around 20%. Overall, it was a pretty poor experience and I don’t see myself returning any time soon.

I don’t think this place is that bad at all! It’s actually quite solid, in my opinion. It’s big, clean, has tons of TVs(good when there are multiple games /multiple sports to watch), AND there’s karaōke on Thursday nights. I don’t know, that sounds pretty good to me! Plus, they’ve got half price happy hour appetizers and one of my fave burgers around: the jalapeño burger! Bits of pepper inside the meat. Melted pepperjack cheese. Fried onion strings. Organic sesame Brioche. YUM. I also really like their fries – regular, spicy, or sweet potato, they’re all good. Gotta dig the different seasonal beers they’ve got on tap: from the Wachusetts Blueberry Ale(with real blueberries floating on top!) in the summer to the Shipyard Pumpkin in the autumn(complete with a cinnamon rim… mmm). Love that they’ve got big bottles of Pretty Things, too. AND staples like my Michelob Ultra. I know. I know. I love craft beers and imported beers as hard as the rest of ‘em, but there’s something about a simple bottle o’Michelob that just does it for me sometimes. Anyway, it’s in Brighton. It’s got beer. When the weather’s warm, the big windows open up and there are a few tufts green foliage around… okay, so while the«garden» part of Brighton Beer Garden isn’t exactly accurate, it’s still a convenient spot to grab a drink and a bite to eat and catch up on the games.

I’m really a fan of this place! I’ve been probably a handful of times and have never had a bad meal. The burgers are amazing! Just tonight I stopped in for a Christmas shopping pit stop and got the Jalapeño Burger with spicy fries. The burger’s flavor was amazing! The jalapeños are actually stuffed into the Angus beef. That mixed with the two layers of Pepper Jack cheese, BBQ sauce, and the straw onions on their organic sesame brioche(buns) made for a absolutely delicious meal. I found that the spicy fries had a bit too salty of a taste for my liking. They definitely weren’t a good choice to accompany the burger I got. However, my mother got the sweet potato fries with her Reuben sandwich(which she LOVED!) and they went perfectly with my burger. So FYI, if you go with the Jalapeño Burger, I would recommend the sweet potato fries as the side. We also got an order of boneless buffalo tenders(with blue cheese) to start. They were good, nothing too exciting but good. If you’re looking more for flavor then for heat, then you’ll like these. The buffalo sauce was tasty without overpowering your mouth. Which I liked, cause I would’ve been really upset if my mouth was burning throughout my delicious burger. Tonight was my mother’s first time here. I wasn’t sure if she would like it, being predominantly a sports bar. But she loved it, and said we definitely need to come back with her husband and my brother. We had a great meal, excellent service and will definitely be returning in the near future.
