I rarely write reviews, but, went to buy pumpernickle bagels toasted this am, I was the only customer. young man behind counter was polite, put gloves on, cut and put bagels in the toaster, and said he would ring me up while they were toasting. I appreciate efficiency, he proceed to ring my order, I gave him $$ and he gave me change, all while still wearing his gloves. I asked if was planning on handling my bagels with the gloves he just made change with and he looked at me walked to the toaster and grabbed a bagel. when I again asked if he was going to use the same gloves he said«oh, you want me to put new ones on now??» you have to be kidding. what are the gloves for?? service there is almost always questionable, but really.

My go-to place when I have to feed a crowd on a budget. While there are plenty of Bruegger’s in the Boston area and tons of similar places — I return to this place because simply put I feel taken care of. I’m always a ball of stress, running late, with no extra moments to spare when I go in to pick up my(large) order — it’s always ready and waiting. The staff — including the owner, manager, and counter workers, are extremely friendly and helpful. Word of advice — get your order in before 3pm the day before, they close early. I made the mistake once of missing the deadline, had to order from Shaws next door only to find no bagels waiting for me the next morning. After a fit(sorry Shaws!), the owner at Bruegger’s took care of me straight away!

They were out of all but two types of bagels… need I say more? Then when I get one of those square and stale breads they have left, they dont clean knife that was just used for cream cheese when making my roast beef sandwich. I really didn’t need pumpkin cream cheese on the roast beef…

The service was mediocre — I support the other reviews that the bagel making girl is less than friendly. She wasnt rude — she just made it clear that she wasnt happy I was there. But that I can deal with. The real issue here was my sandwich. I ordered their tarragon chicken salad sandwich. They portioned it well and the girl put a decent amount on the bagel of my choice. They used big slices of tomato — I was getting excited. Sadly this came crashing down when I got back to my job to have lunch and realized there was literally more mayo than chicken. Im not kidding. Ive literally never seen so much mayo in a chicken salad sandwich in my life and Ive eaten a lot of chicken salad sandwiches. It was borderline disgusting. As I ate it, the pressure of my bites oozed mayo out of the bagel and about a quarter cup of pure mayo was left on the wrapping after EACH bagel half. Had they held back on the mayo, it could have been good. The bagel itself seemed tasty when not covered in mayo and the salad itself was composed of chicken, grapes, almonds, and large slices of tomato. It could have been great. Unfortunately, you could hardly discern any of this because unless you looked closely, it was all the beige color of mayo. I ate the whole thing because Im cheap and I wasnt willing to buy another sandwich for lunch but I regret that decision: the feeling after eating a cup of a mayo is not a good one. They may make great bagels and they may make other fantastic sandwiches. But from my experience, that was hands down the worst chicken salad sandwich Ive ever had. I need a shower…

I used to eat at this Brueggers all the time when I lived near Brighton and even got to know the manager, Sonny. He was awesome and his staff was great too. I stopped in more recently and for whatever reason the girl behind the counter gave me attitude and practically threw my bagel at me. I don’t know what was going on, but I’ll be avoiding this Brueggers from now on. I do think Brueggers has some of the best bagels so I’ll just have to stick to the downtown locations.

Not impressed at all I called at 6:45 am on a Monday morning to place an order for a dozen bagels for work. Tiffany who answered the phone was pretty rude. I needed 4 cinnamon raisin 4 plain and the rest a mix. She said they probably wouldn’t have plain. It was 6:45 on a Monday how do you not have plain? She didn’t ask if I needed anything else she just okay bye. I had to call back to ask her to pre slice the order. Not impressed at all. I ended up canceling the order when she said it would 45 minutes for the bagels and to slice them at 6:45

It’s clean, not too busy, and when the craving for carbs hits… a good place to hit up. The girl behind the counter wasn’t exactly the friendliest person I’ve met, even after flashing her my pearly whites and thanking her for, you know, everything. But no matter, I’m usually in and out of Bruegger’s anyway. I got a «skinny» whole wheat bagel today(toasted, of course), with the lite veggie cream cheese, and it was delicious. I was also able to sample a few bites of their new Sea Salt & Cracked Peppper bagel with egg, bacon, and tomato… and it was DEFINITELY salty, like, from the bottom-of-the-ocean salty. Not sure if I could have taken more than a few bites. I think I’ll stick with their more ‘normal’ offerings from here on out.(Case in point: I’ve tried their smoked salmon bagel sandwich before, and it’s verrry tasty. I do love me some good lox.) So, all in all, okay service(your bagel gets made the way you want it, at least), and pretty decent bagels. Good for occasional breakfast runs.

I am not a huge Brueggers fan but it will do on occasion. I have been to a few locations but this is the one I frequent the most as it is attached to a Star market. Many Saturday mornings the fiancée and I will go to Brueggers for breakfast then tackle the grocery list. Parking is easy since this shopping center is pretty much deserted and it has a massive parking lot full of sea gulls. I love Brueggers bagels. I have bought day old ones to take home many times. I do not however like the cream cheese(its sweet and odd tasting) or their coffee(its just weak and doesn’t taste good). The wraps, sandwiches and bagel sandwiches are so yummy! I generally have a bacon, egg and cheese on an onion bagel and it makes my Saturday morning. The staff are pretty nice and quick, they have a small seating area and wifi but really you are kind of in the Star market entry way so this is not the spot to hang out on your laptop.

Of the Bruegger’s locations I have frequented(pretty sure I’ve been to all of them at least once), this place certainly has the nicest, most attentive staff. These guys work their buts off to get you what you want. You need 100 bagels and 20 muffins for a 8am staff meeting? These guys can make it happen(done it). The place can get a bit busy, especially on wednesdays because of their bagel deal, but that is to be expected. I don’t drink coffee, so I can’t comment on that, but I enjoy the varied flavors of cream cheese and the plethora of softwiches and bagels. IMHO, they make a smoked salmon that is second to none, so I get that often. The coolest thing about this place is that since its connected to shaws, you never have any trouble finding parking and you can do your grocery shopping at the same time(a nice win-win) What really makes this place work though are the guys who run the place. They couldn’t be more nice and try their hardest to fulfill your request, no matter how quirky. Last note: always ask for cream cheese on both sides of your bagel. Otherwise you have to smash them tightly together and drag them apart so you get good coverage on both sides.

I like bagels. With cream cheese, without. Sometimes with sandwich meats. I’m aware it’s the same as eating like six slices if bread. Whatevs. The more carbs, the happier I am. This location is tucked in next to the Shaws in the back of a huge plaza which is mostly parking. It’s never too busy. Every time I’ve stopped in, I have noted the nice employees. Green mountain coffee. Not too shabby. A little weak. Good breakfast and lunch options. About half a dozen tables makes for ample seating. The take Crimson cash, real cash, amex, MC and visa. Last night’s bagels are $ 2.99 a half dozen, and to my surprise, they also sell bread! Free wi-fi? They’ve got that too.

Ehhh… some times a get a craving for a Bruegger’s Bagel, which is weird because I don’t really like Bruegger’s. There bagels are decent, and they have pumpernickel which is definitely a positive. Negatives: 1. There cream cheeses are weird. They have this strange sweetness to them. 2. There coffee SUCKS!!! Make sure to leave room to add about half a cup of milk. 3. They only put cream cheese on one side of the bagel. This is a big pet peeve of mine. I don’t know anyone that eats a bagel with the top and bottom together. So do you not think that when I split it apart I want cream cheese on both halves? So annoying! And if you ask them to put it on both halves. they will only give you like a quarter of the CC just to spite you! 4. Not cheap. I paid $ 5 this morning for a bagel w/cc and a small coffee. Positives– convenience and pumpernickel bagels. Thats about it.

I love hot chocolate. Bruegger’s has exceptional hot chocolate but they have been WITHOUTSINCELASTFRIDAY! I went last night for a chocolate comfort and was told that they get it delivered on Friday so it should be there Friday or Saturday. I don’t know why their hot chocolate tastes so good as it clearly is a mix, but it is good. I hate coffee and won’t buy a tea bag at these places because I can make tea @ home and they are not known for their tea. The bagels aren’t bad but come on. it is freakin the END of November and no hot chocolate for a week! Plus, they close at an asinine hour of 5pm? Why?

Decent bagels, good muffins, good new wrap sandwiches, and of course, free wireless Internet. Can’t beat that. This location’s convenient since it’s connected to a Shaw’s supermarket, so you can get your groceries, bagels/sandwiches, and free Internet fix all at once. I tried the sesame chicken wrap sandwich and it was surprising good. If you like sesame dressing, then you should try this wrap. The guys working there were nice too. Bottom line: Bruegger’s Bagels has always had decent stuff, but of course, I give them an extra star for free wireless Internet. Come by and give them some business since it does seem a bit slow.
