Not sure when Cleveland Circle will ever improve. The shops are boring with hardly any decent eating establishments and there are empty stores. When the streets aren’t dead, it’s filled with annoying rowdy college students coming in and out of the bars.

Probably Boston’s most boring neighborhood. A couple lame bars, too many students, no feeling of community. Lots of chains. Blehhh

Loss of one star due to the closure of the movies. This place is kinda like a beat-up pickup truck. Useful to have around and semi dependable, but you would not really want to go on a date with it unless you had no choice. There are some useful/necessary businesses here, supercuts, hardware, liquor store, it’s almost like an old fashioned downtown. The restaurants also seem nice, and there is even a nice bar(City Side Grill). I really have nothing against the area, it is just OK, but when compared to others on Beacon St, it falls short.

The best thing about Cleveland Circle is the venerable Circle Cinemas. Probably the best place to see a movie in Boston. It’s spacious and there’s a ton of screens. It’s SO convenient. There’s parking. Seriously, it can’t be beat. Oh wait. They closed Circle Cinema! There is nothing left. Being in Cleveland Circle makes me wish I could summon a tornado.

How to best describe Cleveland Circle? Beacon Street is probably the nicest road in all of Boston, and continues to be just as beautiful all the way into Newton until it ends at Washington Street. Cleveland Circle is the blemish on Beacon Street, the one really ugly part where you wonder if maybe you accidentally got onto Comm Ave somehow. That said, there are some nice business in the Circle, and many of the store fronts are fixing up their facades to make the block or two more bearable. Ultimately, Cleveland Circle is best for its utility. Liquor store, hardware store, floral store, dry cleaning, pharmacy, two big T stops, restaurants, bubble tea, recreation at the ice rink /pool /reservoir /softball fields, and plenty of people watching.

What to say? Tons of places to eat though if it wasn’t for working in this area, I wouldn’t be here so often. What else to say? If you don’t have a set destination, it’s not really a fantastic place to wander because people suck at driving once they get to the intersection.

I live near here. I more or less hate it here. This has got to be one of the most ugly square/circles in all of civilized Metro Boston. The best thing here is the Chestnut Hill Reservoir. The biggest problem here is that everything here is massively mediocre. The two pizza places are just kind not good. Presto’s is fine, Pino’s is literally not edible. Aside from that there is a semi-sketch cinema, a decent hardware store, a decent CVS, and not much else. I live here b/cc it’s close to BC where I’m a grad student, and b/c I’m kind of stupid. I cannot wait until this lease runs its course and I can evacuate this«nothing interesting here» zone. One plus is that from this area you can easily access the B, C, and D lines with a tiny walk. The green line sucks though, especially when you’re starting inbound from SOFAROUT.
