Yuck! Yuck! Yuck! Need I say more? If I could give this restaurant no stars I would. I wanted to try a new place so we tried this place. Biggest mistake EVER. 70 dollars for buffett food that had been out who knows how long. The chicken had obviously been sitting there for a while. We shouldev just walked out but decided to give it a chance. Only thing that looked safe to me was the rice, 70 bucks for 2 plates?!! Stay away from this place. NEVER again. I wouldn’t even bring my worse enemy here.

This place is amazing. I came at dinner and there’s a lot of choices you can pick, like oyster, lobster, sushi etc! Best place ever!

This is a standard Asian buffet place. Usually, you can find some dish at a buffet that you just fill up on(like crab legs) to make it worth your money.(They do have crab legs here, but they don’t even fill that role.) We asked about the recent hike in prices, since we came with a friend who said that it used to be a lot cheaper, and they explained that the price increase was due to their new offering of oysters… the oysters were gross. But, yeah, should I really expect good oysters from a place like this? Tried everything from the sushi to the raw shellfish, to the hot food, and nothing was good. The chocolate fondue was also awful — the chocolate quickly hardened into a chalky mess. I’m never going back.

Think the Unilocal 3-star ratings is definitely underrated, or the foodie in Boston held super high standards. Missing the food here at MGM grand buffet in Las Vegas.

Had a dinner at this place, the food was average, service was good. However, their sushi and seafood is below average. I have been a fan of Minado, I think I will stick to Minado.

Nice seafood buffet. Everything was fresh and they offered a lot of options: salmon, crab, oysters, shrimp. The lobster was very bland, but everything else was good.

My husband and I are from southern California. We went to a lot of AYCE buffets in LA and Vegas. But this is the best by far at the same level. Fresh sea bass, oysters, lobsters, and more. The sushi is OK. But the cooked session is fantastic!

Came here on a Sunday afternoon with a party of three. There lunch buffet is $ 21.75 per person. This is my third time here so I know what I’m expecting. The restaurant is a pretty decent size. I never have to wait when I come here. One side is filled with cooked Asian food and a station of make your own soup! The other side is filled with sushi and desserts. Overall, it’s a decent place. If you’re craving for sushi and/or Asian food and know that you can make your money worth with having at least filled 4 – 5 plates then come here!

Beyond poor quality food. The food had bad odor and it was incredibly stale. We had to leave within 10 minutes of entering the restaurant. This is my last time eating there! Would give 0 stars if I could…

The worst place ever you can go!!! I just went there to get some Take-outs for me and for my friend. So i grab 2 boxes and the lady told me i can fill whatever i want! We like to eat EEL Rolls, and i wanted to fill out just Eel roll in my to go box! I dont care How much they ll charge me, I just like to eat Eel Roll Thats it!!! They guy(behind the counter) told me i can’t get only Eel Roll. Thats so Stupid! Than i called the lady from the front desk, i explained my problem; She told me «i can fill up whatever i like» than that guy came and start to yell in his own f*cking language which is i dont understand. And than i said«OK, I dont want it. «he is such a rude ass, He took to go boxes from me and smiling«Thank you Sir, Thank you Sir» F*ck this place with my all heart! And there is no Manager or Owner to explain your problem I won’t let any of my friends to go there anymore!

When I came to this place when it first opened, I thought the food was pretty great for the price. Only $ 15 for all you can eat sushi and entrees, for lunch that is. I came back today for dinner and it was a pretty unsatisfying experience. I thought there would’ve been special entrees or sushi rolls that were exclusive for dinner, but the only difference was that there was lobster. Nice for some, but if you’re allergic to lobster like me or don’t eat it generally, then everything else is the same as lunch. In other words, I really regret coming here for dinner as it was $ 30/person with nothing special. The quality of some of their entrees and sushi have downgraded since I’ve last come here. Most of the entrees I had were really warm, the only thing I really liked was the chicken katsu. My parents really did enjoy the crab legs, oysters, and lobster, but they said the marinated beef was tough. The sushi used to be so much better before. Their rice for maki didn’t taste seasoned with vinegar at all, and some of the sashimi was cut poorly. I did like the salmon sashimi that tasted very fresh and the salmon nigiri was good as well. They do make special maki rolls but some are a hit or miss because they’ll stuff them with too many things that clash together. We had a really nice waitress! When I compared my dad’s ice tea with mine, there was an apparent color and flavored difference that mine was watered down and his was not. When she brought out a new one for me, my ice tea was definitely darker in color with my dad’s and tasted better than his at this point. Basically, if you put all three together in a row, it would look like a gradient of watered down ice tea. She was very understanding and willing to change my drink, and apologized many times for the taste. Overall, if you have a craving for sushi, come here for some of the sashimi and nigiri. I think it’s a good deal if you want plates full of it considering it’s generally expensive elsewhere. BUT come for lunch, the price for dinner isn’t worth it.

I’ve been to Takusan for lunch a couple of times, and tried Maki Maki today. I’m no sushi expert, but that at Takusan is definitely better, although this place has greater variety — however, not all of it is appealing. I don’t know about dinner, but at lunch much(most?) of the sushi is ground fish, and not whole pieces. As for the hot items, I’d advise staying away from all of them with meat, as the quality(as expected) is quite low. There was a deep-fried fish that wasn’t bad, and I liked the«salt and pepper»(AKA popcorn) shrimp. The shrimp tempura was OK, but the batter — especially on the vegetables, was hardly tempura, being much too heavy. The desserts were mediocre. As others mention, the staff were attentive — if less than joyous. I’ll go to Takusan for quality, and here for quantity.

What a scam. When I presented the coupon, I was denied the offer. The waitress said«only valid on the weekends» The coupon clearly said«NOT valid on the weeknds» I went on Tuesday 6÷23÷15 and it wasn’t a holiday. False advertisement. The mackerel sashimi was not fresh. I am giving 2 stars just because they had decent selection for lunch on a weekday.

First time visiting this restaurant and I will definitely come back on my next visit to the area. The restaurant is extremely clean and organized. Sushi is well presented and you have a lot to choose from. Everything is very fresh. Kids also loved it.

I’m surprised at all the low reviews. My sister and I love eating here. Over the past year I think I’ve come every Saturday for lunch! I like this place because of the variety, especially with the maki rolls. Then, when you head over to the hot selections it’s pretty good chinese/japanese food. If you are ever there on a day that they have the bacon-wrapped enoki then you’re a lucky one because it’s SOGOOD. Also, my sister is a huge fan of their fried rice, but recently they have been putting pineapple and I think it’s just based on preference, you either like it or you don’t. Thankfully, I do :) The prices are fair and the waitstaff is very attentive and friendly. It’s great for groups and a yummy delicious casual lunch or dinner.

I love the idea of a sushi buffet, but I’ve never seen it executed well. I’ve passed this place dozens of times wanting to try it, but I fell on my sword and ended up going for dinner, for which I paid the price dearly, both literally and figuratively. If you’re just looking for sushi, I’d suggest going for lunch, since I can’t imagine that changes much. Something rubbed me the wrong way about their sashimi, though. I don’t know if it was sitting out too long, but it was dry looking. The hot foods were pretty mehh, and I didn’t come here with the mindset for a Chinese buffet. The only thing that tipped the scale was the lobster. They had several employees on walkie-talkie to bring out food when things were running low, the problem was that nothing called out to me. I can’t honestly say that I ate $ 30 worth of anything except maybe the dessert.

I’m giving this place a 5 star rating to improve the overall average. To the people complaining about the lack of variety– can you honestly eat everything on the menu? I have ordered almost everything(in one sitting) at Takusan, Yamato, and eaten just about everything at Maki Maki. I’d say it is plenty of food. The size of the sushi seems small, but it really isn’t a big deal(pun intended) since you can EATASMANYASYOUWANT. I’d say come earlier if you want to avoid the lines and I’d recommend lunch. I think any place that has all you can eat oysters is not sustainable anyway. I remember at Takusan they pretty much gave up on oysters at dinner time because they can’t make money. The dessert selection here is spectacular. I’d have to say my favorite is the mango pudding. As far as it being awkward for eating too much, I pretty much have no shame and will eat until they physically kick me out. I might review the dinner later, but I think I will stick with the lunch buffet. There seems to be a chocolate fountain in the back, but I would probably die from being too fat. I’ve experienced chocolate fountains at a place called Hokkaido near UCLA, and they seem to be overhyped. Sure they seem great on their own, but I feel like it doesn’t really match well with the sushi. The non-sushi items are pretty good. They have individual plates of fish eggs for some reason that no one seems to get except me. I noticed that this place is probably run by Chinese people so obviously there are going to be Chinese things like roast duck. What I thought was amazing was that they have tonkatsu style fried pork cutlets. I love those things… and they are all you can eat!!! There’s a station for udon, much like a place called Todai, but I came here to eat the more expensive things. What I like about this place is that it is not one of those dubious«all you can eat» places that are actually«all you can order.» I’m not going to name names, but it seems like forcing people to wait for the sushi to be prepared while thinking if you can eat 20 more pieces or not will always end up terribly. Oh no, what will we do with all those rolls that we thought we could eat 10 minutes ago but now can’t fit in our stomachs? We’ll just have to hide the rice somewhere and hope they don’t charge us extra for wasting food?!? I kind of hate that business model even though many would argue that the presentation of the food is great for the instagrams. Overall, I recommend this place but maybe not too much since it might get too crowded if a ton of people actually come. Ideally just enough people will come to have it in business while still allowing me to get my food in a timely manner. It is also a lot closer than Minado’s or whatever that place is called. I think people might be a little biased if they have to drive really far away to go somewhere.

I’ve done my fair share of AYCE sushi in Boston. This one is least T accessible and you’re going to need a car to get here. Came here last Saturday and it was ~$ 30 a head and ~$ 26 for a senior citizen discount(came with gramps). Plenty of parking! Let’s start with the sushi. Mediocre. All the nigiri and maki rolls are REALLY small. Maybe half the size of a normal piece. The sashimi weren’t in rectangular slices, but chunks. You could tell the cut came from the ends and bits. The cooked food was decent, but the selection was terrible. Seemed more like Chinese food than Japanese in my opinion. I don’t recommend this place. Try takusan or Minados
