Mass Motion Dance

AN IMPORTANT ADDRESS UPDATE:
Haven’t been here yet, but just called to get some info on classes/​location. The woman on the phone had given me an address different from the one listed on Unilocal’s info section. She had put in a request to change but it hasn’t been processed yet. She gave me the new address:

Allston, MA 2 134
Apparently it is only a few minutes away from the other location, and Horton St. is parallel to Western Ave. Its behind the Star Market in the Brighton Mills shopping center. She suggested that some people take the red line to Central, then hop a bus to the Mills. I bet it is also a short walk from Brighton/​Harvard Ave.
Definitely planning on checking it out…

Woo hoo! Got a groupon for 5 classes and decided to go for the Beginner Irish Step class. Last night was my first night, and I really enjoyed it. Patti, the teacher, is very motivating and pleasant to be around. I have no background of this, but used to do ballet so some of it was familiar. It was a smaller class, so I enjoyed being able to ask questions and get some good mirror time. I was surprised that I felt like I got a really good work out (specially my legs and feet!) and the one hour class was perfect.
There’s 2 studio’s, which is always a plus, and I got to watch little mini ballet girls while I was waiting (so adorable). The waiting area is small, but besides that, it’s easy to get to, easy parking and enjoyable.
I’m excited to maybe try out some other classes as well. :)

Just to comment on your concern about the video taping, I danced for 10 years at a different studio (The Dance Slipper) and I understand why this is. During dress rehersal, you can usually tape away. However, for the actual performance, most dance studios want to create a professional environment that allows the guests in the audience to see and enjoy the performance. Having parents setting up cameras and such can be a huge distraction.

My daughter has been taking ballet at this studio for almost two years and really enjoys it. The Saturday young kids teacher, Miss Meghan, is really amazing.
They don’t let you video your own kid at the recital which is annoying because Emma was hardly in the official recital video, but her weekly dance class is wonderful.
