It’s been MONTHS since I’ve had even a decent shot of espresso from this Starbucks. As I have stated before, the turn over is so high here that no one learns to pull a decent shot. The people are are polite, the place is clean, but if you’re looking for a delicious espresso or a latte that isn’t all milk(even when I order a quad grande)… Then CHARbucks isn’t your spot. I am a coffee sob, I only use a chemex, only buy fresh roasted, whole beans, that we grind ourselves, and we enjoy the nuances of the fresh roasted beans, which get lost in the overly brewed beans from Starbucks. My hubs and I think that going to Ann Arbor, specifically The Espresso Bar, is worth the drive, the microfoam on the dry cap is amazing.

This drive through is always SO busy so it deterred me from swinging through there for a while. Until one day I NEEDED coffee so I gave it a go, and they actually kept the line moving so quickly. It made me feel much better about joining that long drive through line wrapped around the building. Don’t let it throw you off, it’s not a long wait at all. Very nice service and staff there as well, I should add.

Funny how when the barista asks if you want your green tea hot or cold, so you say cold, then they hand you a hot one. I politely said, I’m sorry, I thought I said cold tea, she said NO you asked for hot. Then she turned around to make another, kinda grumpy, then slaps the cold one down on the counter and I said thank you and she said yup. Well, the store was clean, I was just on my way through to Detroit. The tea was cold and delicious as usual.

Stopped through here late one rainy afternoon. I was probably the 8th car in line and they rocked it. Probably less than 5 minutes and I was on the way. Good service.
