Local ice cream parlor, definitely a community staple and I would recommend it to satisfy a craving. I miss the old design with the classic car stretch limo ice box. It really set this place apart. They’re a great community staple though. They do a lot of fundraisers.

Honestly I’d give 5 stars simply for the owners and workers. They are incredibly kind. It’s a great small business run by a family and you can tell as soon as you walk in the door. They are always friendly and inviting and you can tell they genuinely care for their customers. If you’re looking for real ice cream this is the place to go for sure! The only downfall is they don’t take debit or credit cards which is why I gave 4 stars

Absolutely nailed the atmosphere of a quintessential all American ice cream parlor. Smells like fresh waffle cones and vanilla and best ice cream and service I’m bristol bar none

Best ice cream… anywhere!!! Forget paying for cold stone or gross fryo, come to Dunphys for a true ice cream experience! It’s a family and town favorite! I get my daughters birthday cakes here and they’re always amazing and never a piece left over! It’s a small place and gets crowded, but its worth the wait… and very inexpensive!!! Win win!

Best ice cream in Bristol by far! Why 3 stars you ask? Try waiting 30 minutes in line I a 95 degree day with 2 kids in tow, you order and get to the register to only be told they don’t accept credit cards! It wasn’t posted on the door either. Accept credit cards and it would 4 stars!

Dunphy’s is a perfectly fine little ice cream place hidden in a nondescript little strip mall off of a main road in Bristol. The ice cream has been good but not great in my experiences, but the owners and workers have always been very nice and welcoming, which goes a long way in a small place like that. Not my favorite ice cream place I’ve ever been to, but not a bad option if you’re looking for ice cream in Bristol!

Dunphys is my favorite place to go for icecream In Bristol. They always have a large variety of flavors to choose from and not the same old flavors you see everywhere. Their coconut almond chocolate chip icecream is by far my favorite. The prices are good and they give you large scoops.

Who would’ve thought this ice cream place in an otherwise unremarkable strip mall would be so good? But it is very good. Friendly service. Big portions. Reasonable prices. All of these things combined make for a great stop. Hershey’s ice cream(with tons of different flavors is a big draw too). Why no five stars? Well Tulmeadow and J. Fosters make their own ice cream. But no matter. This is a great place to go. Highly recommend.

We found this place about a year ago and I was really impressed. Ice cream isn’t my desert of choice, but my husband and son love ice cream. I had the banana pudding ice cream and it was amazing. Amazing. I don’t know how they make it, but it taste just like banana pudding with ‘Nilla wafers. The chocolate ice cream is also delicious. It has that rich chocolate taste with a tiny bit of chocolate bitterness that makes it taste a bit more complex. The prices are great and they have kid sized cones which are perfect for smaller appetites. We’ve tried several local ice cream places in the area and Dunphy’s is by far my favorite. Bring cash!

Very nice, love these Mom and Pop shops. A lot of flavors to choose from, friendly staff and the cool thing is that they will close for the winter so get it now that you can.

Another 5-star review for Dunphy’s! There are MANY flavors of hard ice cream and soft-serve, and every topping you could possibly want. Plus they have shakes and sundaes and slushies… The prices were VERY reasonable, service was excellent. There are a few chain ice cream shops in the area, but having been to Dunphy’s, I don’t see any point in going back to the chains — the quality is the same here, and the price is about half of what we usually pay elsewhere. The décor is retro, in a good way — looks like an old-fashioned soda fountain. We will be back many times. Just a warning: they do not accept credit cards, so make sure you have cash(though you won’t need much!)

Stopped in while traveling, and had some awesome ice cream. Generous servings, low prices, surprisingly tasty. The next day, we drove 30 minutes from Hartford in order to have a second dose. I highly recommend it. Note: Another review says«Dunphy’s is gone». I’m not sure why. The sign says Dunphy’s, and that’s how I found it, so that’s how I’m reviewing it.

Best ice cream ever. I’ve never heard a bad thing about Dunphys, so I had to go myself. Now, I go multiple times during the summer, even though they are open year round. There is something for everyone. The guy who works the counter is a little creepy, but hes a staple of Dunphy’s as he has been the sole employee since forever and he sure knows how to scoop some good ice cream. Yum! Edit: Dunphy’s is gone now!!! Wahhhh!!! :’(

I went to a Birthday Party for my 5 year old niece today, and after everyone left I offered to take the whole family out to Carvel’s for ice cream. My brother told me that I should try Dunphy’s, and I promptly told him that I liked soft serve ice cream that is really ice cream not the ice milk at other places. He told me that the soft serve was real ice cream w/a higher butterfat content than Carvel’s. I looked at him doubtfully, but I agreed to give it a try. My nephew had a black raspberry cone(hard ice cream), my brother’s wife had a dish of chocolate chip, and my brother, niece and I all had soft serve chocolate. It was rich, creamy and delicious, and it surpassed Carvel’s my previous favorite ice cream parlor. Not only that, but the total bill for all that ice cream was $ 11.80; at Carvel’s it would have been close to $ 20. It doesn’t have the sandwiches and cakes that Carvel has, but if you want good creamy ice cream both hard and soft, Dunphy’s is the place. It is definitely worth a trip to Bristol. I will definitely go back. I still like Carvel’s, but in Bristol you can’t beat Dunphy’s Ice Cream Parlor.
