First time we attended the Festival at the recommendation of Frank B from the Capitol Theatre alumni — thanks Frank! We had an incredible experience. Everyone working the event was knowledgeable, friendly and showed genuine joy at being helpful. The shuttle bus drivers were professional(and most important, on-time) expecially Betty and the dispatcher Joan, who worked long hours but treated everyone kindly. The music, well, more than you could possible take in, so picking and choosing was the challange. Ray Wylie Hubbard, Rosie Flores, Wayne Hancock, Black Lillies, Dale Watson, incredible list of performers in many, many unique settings — Street stages, small tents, Paramount Theatre, so many choices. Now you need food, right, whatever your desire it was probably available. All the costs were fair, prices were reasonable. Many crafts, artists, etc. Great experience, great weather, looking forward to a return visit.

There is little that can be said about this wonderful festival that has not been said previously. Being from Bristol, this is my absolute favorite weekend of the year because those who run this festival go to great lengths to bring in top notch talent and the fact that there are roughly 20+ stages all within about a half mile of one another allows spectators to see the most amount of music possible during their time there. The amount of exposure and money that this festival has brought into the community over the past decade is just amazing and much of that money has been put back into the community to make the experience as good as it can be for all that attend. I have been to music festivals all over the country, and although I am biased, this is probably one of the nicer ones that I have ever seen. It is worth the trip and with weekend passes costing $ 40(a little more if you buy closer to the time of the festival) economically it can not be beat.

Bangin! The BRRR is the place to be each September. 150 acts on how many stages? Something for everyone. I’m going to echo the review above and say we were spoiled for choice a couple of times. Maybe you and your party will divide up and meet up later. Maybe you’ll stroll through and just catch what’s on right in front of you. Some necessary conflicts in scheduling, but you can’t just see everything, although you would be in heaven should you be able to do that. Not to be missed.

We’ve been to numerous music festival over the years, and can confidently state(if you like roots music) that the Bristol Rhythm and Roots Reunion is, indeed«As good as it gets!» Every aspect is first class: quality and quantity of the musical acts; venues; sound; friendliness of staff and vendors; food/drink options. The closest I can come to a complaint is that it can be an embarrassment of riches at times. There was a point last year where there were five acts performing simulatneously at different venues that we would have liked to have seen.
