WOW can’t say enough good things about this place. I live in Boston but often go to NH to visit family and for breakfast or lunch this is the once stop spot. First the people, everybody is always super nice and friendly with a smile. Food — I must admit my goto is a classic Ruben, I rarely ever deviate from this sandwich and for good reason. It’s AMAZING with classic sauce. The breakfast sandwich is just not some scrambled egg its actually fired with the yolk just perfect and they use real sausage not that packaged junk breakfast sausage that is typical of every other place. If you are in the area stop by say hi you wont be disappointed.

Love this place! Great atmosphere, fast wifi! If you’re in town stop by and try the chocolate chip cookies. Gives the area some much needed culture.

Worth driving past DD for sure! Excellent coffee, super nice honest people. Fun spot. I dropped my coffee outside, clumsy and they insisted I come in and get fresh on the house. Try the coffee cake… yum!

I wanted to love this place, I really did. They just need to up their game a notch. This looks to be run by a mother-son team, which is awesome, and they have a great location and idea(coffee shop in the day, jazz club at night). My breakfast sandwich on a bagel was great and filling. My husband’s panini sandwich was good, but slightly over-singed on the press. What cost them a star, though, was my chai tea latte. It was made with ONE chai tea bag and some vanilla syrup. I had to add a bunch of cinnamon and sugar just to get the flavor to something respectable. Again, these guys have a great idea and the mom seemed to know her stuff and be training her son. If we lived in the area I’d pop back in in about 6 months and see if they’d worked some of the kinks out.

The location is really cool, the family that runs the place is nice. And it just looks like they are setting up to be a great coffee shop. If I were a local I’d definitely be back and hope that in time that they’d improve to the point that this review would be a 5. There was a mom and son team when we went in. The mom seemed to really know her stuff. She must’ve spent some serious time in coffee shops because she was showing the son the ropes and making a darned good cappuccino while also taking care of our sandwiches. If/when she can train the rest of her family/employees fully this place will be a must visit in town. My wife’s chai tea latte was a bit weak. They used 1 tea bag to brew the tea and a vanilla syrup to sweeten it. The wife added some cinnamon and sugar and it tasted better. Sandwiches all tasted great while we were out and about and they have a good variety. Mine got a little extra color on the panini press(again the son still seemed to be learning how things go) but only enough to make me wonder if I’d have to return it. In the end, no effect on taste and not black. Just more color than everyone else’s sandwiches. Keep an eye on this place. In a few months it may be one of the coolest hangouts in town if they keep working on improving.

The Purple Pit Coffee Lounge opened about a month ago next door to Pat’s Seafood & Pizza in Central Square. The Purple Pit closed their Downtown Concord location several months ago and landed in quiet Downtown Bristol. The atmosphere inside is casual and homey with a long space layout with several tables and seating and a long open counter area(drinks & food prep). There is also a jazz lounge in the back room which features live entertainment including comedy acts and music performances on specific evenings. BYOB!!! The Purple Pit serves up breakfast and lunch featuring White Mountain Gourmet Coffee(Concord). The drink offerings include fresh brewed hot and iced coffee drinks, espresso, mochas, lattes, chai, frozen double mocha java, smoothies, and cold drinks. The food offerings include fresh baked goods, bagels, breakfast sandwiches and a variety of lunch sandwiches(with chips & pickle) including rosemary chicken salad, corned beef & swiss, blackened turkey, veggi panini, rueben panini, and caprese salad. I stopped in here recently for a light meal. I ordered the Rueben Panini($ 6.50) which was made fresh to order. The hot panini I had tasted very good, which had thin sliced deli corned beef with sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, and Russian dressing betwen hot pressed rye bread slices, very firm and browned on the outside. The side of cross rigged potato chips(not salty) were crunchy and a dill pickle spear was included. Overall, The Purple Pit Coffee Lounge is a nice addition to Bristol since there are very limited coffee house(with food and live entertainment) options in the area. There is also free wifi offered here(with password) which is a great amenity since the mobile data coverage in Bristol is scattered and intermittent.
