Not sure if this listing is for Beavers Bend State Park, but assume so. The park itself is great but the cabins are not. We stayed in cabin #44 and it was infested with bats and rats. All evening and night we could the the rats crawling and gnawing in the attic, and in the early hours we could hear the bats flying around the roof and wall outside our bedroom window. Nasty. Stay elsewhere!

This is an awesome and beautiful place to do camping. Various reasons why I did not give 4 stars: #1-because they only had 2 showers for the entire site!!! thats crazy! i had to take a shower around 11pm because of the big line and even though I waited so long still had to wait when I went down there aroun 11pm… #2– 2 toilets for the entire site! the other area that had toilets didnt even have electricity, was really nasty to use… beside that the park is beautiful and it would be great if managent tale care of restrooms and if they add more showers to the site.

We went camping this last weekend(the first weekend in May) and had a blast at Beaver’s Bend park. Almost everything about the park was perfect… It was a gorgeous area, cheap to stay overnight in their(not so) primitive camping area, lots of wildlife and hiking trails. The only problem was that almost EVERY campsite was taken. We had to drive around several times to find one on a friday afternoon, and the attendant at the front desk had no idea how full the park was(?). My advice would be to get to the park early on a Friday if you’re staying over the weekend, or else go on a weekday when it’ll be empty. Other than that it’s a beautiful park for a weekend getaway. Also beware of the warning siren that goes off when the dam is opening — it’s very loud and unpredictable, and sometimes goes off in the middle of the night. It’s not so bad if you know to expect it.

I spent some time at this state park. Their cabins are awesome for camping if you don’t feel like«roughing it».
