I’ve purchased pool products from Dizzy Deans in the Bronx almost every year for the past 8 years because it’s close by. I’ve never used their services to install anything until this May of this year 2015. Terrible service! My experience; hired them to install a pool liner. First attempt of an appointment, the guy called me 10 minutes before he was supposed to show up to let me know that the pool liner that I ordered from them a two weeks before, he could not get it. What? Yes, I ordered a pool liner two weeks prior and 10 minutes before he was supposed to be here, he calls to say«We did not receive the pool liner because they did not have any in stock». So, I decided not to tell the guy off and instead rescheduled an appointment and ordered a pool liner for $ 55 less than Dizzy Deans was charging(25 m) from Lesie’s Swimming Pool Supplies and got it in three days with free shipping. I had an appointment with them on a Wednesday morning at 8am. With no phone call or anything, they did not show up. I tried calling the store and sent two emails to the contact person on their site, which says; «Please use the contact form below, e-mail us at , or call us if you have any questions or concerns. Someone will get back to you within 24 hours». I did get a response the next day and he basically says that he does not deal with complaints. So, you can’t get anyone to give a complain to but the rude guy that manages the place. You call you get him, you go there you get him. Amazing. Anyway, I was able to get the guy that manages the place(same guy that does the liner installations) and he apologized and said he will be here in the afternoon. I took a day off to wait an entire day for a liner installation. They show up at 1:30 and finish around 6pm. This week we opened the pool, June 13 and guess what? water is leaking from the skimmer… ugh. Here we go again, now lets see what is going to happen. I have to get the guy to come back. I am frustrated that there is no one that is visible or you can call to give a complaint. You deal with a worker and that’s it(my experience). My husband went to the store the other day to get some supplies before we opened my pool and the store is suppose to open at 10am. There was at least 8 customers outside waiting for the guy to show up. He opened the store almost at 11 and people were complaining and left and the guy had a nasty attitude. Will use another pool place for now on. Obviously that store owner doesn’t care about his staff because if he did, his employees would be a little bit more happier to help the customers. All the guy does is complain about how much work he has and the owner form the store doesn’t help. Hopefully you have a better experience.

After shopping around and speaking to people who have pools, I decided to buy my pool from Dizzy Deans. They gave me the best price and the salesman seemed knowledgeable and courteous. I ordered the pool on June 14th with a promised delivery date of 2 – 4 weeks. Then the problems started; The pool was delivered week 6, on July 21st, with a phone call the morning of stating your pool is being delivered this morning. My wife was told the balance was to be paid before the truck would be unloaded. I scheduled the contractor to install the pool for Friday July 25th. As the contractor prepared to install the pool I saw it was not the pool I ordered. I had ordered a blue pool, they delivered a beige pool. I immediately called the vendor to inform them of the discrepancy. They told me the pool I received was the pool I ordered. I looked at my receipt and I could not identify the specific color on it. I felt at that point that I had no recourse and allowed the pool to be installed. I Know, I should have inspected the boxes the day they were delivered. LESSONLEARNED. On Monday July 28th I called the manufacturer directly, SWIM ‘N PLAY, and they informed me that the pool on my receipt was not the pool I received. I again called the vendor and told them the information I received from the manufacturer. At that point they admitted their mistake and agreed to take the pool back but since it was installed they could not do anything for me. Not only did I want the pool I ordered, I also demanded they pay to reinstall the correct pool or reimburse me the $ 1,300.00 I paid to have the pool installed, which they refused. They delivered a product I did not order and denied it. Only after I informed them that I called the manufacturer did they admit their mistake. I filed a complaint with the Westchester County Consumer affairs who contacted Dizzy Deans but said they have no jurisdiction in the Bronx. I also filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau who stated they contacted the vendor and have a complaint on file but cannot force the vendor to action. REALLY??? So what’s the purpose? They suggested I contact the Attorney General’s Office or take them to small claims court.
The most aggravating issue was my credit card company(Citibank) releasing the money to the vendor after I told them not to because they said I am in possession of the pool. NOKIDDING!!!

Your Pool supply and services specialist! Deans provides everything you needs to maintain or build a brand new pool from shock, chlorine tablets, hot tubs, filters and pumps, etc. I purchase a 2 Hayward filter/pumps from them before which are considered top quality pumps for great low prices. I shopped around before I bought it from them and no one could beat their price. They purchase everything by bulk which helps to reduce the sale price. They also provide a great«you can do it, we can help» service which will save you money from hiring someone to do it. If you have some yard space and been thinking about a pool, call Dizzy Deans!
