Ordered a soda, cheese sticks and a yaroa… what i got was soda, greasy cheese sticks and instead of a yaroa got a cheese patelito… if you know anything about yaroas you will know yaroas are way bigger then a little patelito… thanks empanadas for fuckin up something so easy to make and deliver…

I’ve had better … The yaroa with pernil had some meat … It was more like salami than the pernil I’m used to which is juicy and shredded … The food didn’t really have no flavor. The cheese sticks were doughy. Full of flour and the cheese wasn’t melted inside. I had to remove the batter and eat the cheese … I had to dump so much sauce on the food and the sauce wasn’t all that either. Just mayo and ketchup… Not the greatest Dominican fritura I’ve had …

My husband and I have been craving Dominican street food «chucheria» (empanadas, yaroas etc) for a while, so we decide to take a long ride from brooklyn to manhattan to finally eat our empanadas and chimis. The customer service is excellent, however I was not empressed at all with their food. For starters I ordered a cheesesteak empanada which was so sweet I can bearly taste the meat, then I ordered a quipe dé pollo which was also hard and stale. My husband ordered a yaroa mixta de papas, and that taste horrible too, the chicken and ground beef were super stale, and salty, the French fries were soggy, and the cheese did not even melt, the same thing with my chimi, it taste horrible. The two things that I did like were the caprichos de pollo and the bola de yuca con queso which surprisingly taste good. Although the service was excellent, I was very disappointed with the quality of the food.

This place is a small chain in upper Manhattan and the Bronx that sells empanadas and other Latin quick bites. They are tasty and they usually have about 15 different types of empanadas to choose from. They are ok, but the drop in the stars is that being Latino I’m used for them to be filled for with the topping, if they were to do that this place would get 5 stars.
