I really recommend this little place!

A hole in the wall Mexican restaurant — if ever there was one.
The interior was as bare-​bones as it gets. Imagine a brick and mortar version of a Mexican food truck. I ordered a chicken burrito and, 10 seconds later, ended up getting something that resembled more like a soft-​shelled taco. It took me longer to decide what I wanted than for them to prepare it! I’m no burrito expert and this was the first one I’ve ever eaten that did not contain rice (breakfast burritos excluded). The burrito/​taco did its job though. The food was nothing out of the ordinary, but the quantity was solid for its price. I can see people coming here for the convenience and value of the food.

I’m not a taco lover but hands down this place makes great tacos. They stuff the tacos enough to make 2 tacos out of that one taco. The service is great and the price is just right.

I swear I grew up eating these tacos! Lord this the absolute best place to get tacos. You can make two tacos out of one, their full of meat, pico and cheese. This place has been there for so many years. I spent my whole pregnancy eating a daily taco, it was all i was craving my baby was hooked. People used to say «you will hate tacos once the baby is out» WRONG because I still come here, and love these tacos.

Love their steak tacos!!! They’re the best, and you can never go wrong with beef lol. A must try this place!

Solid mexican food for cheap. I had their enchilades verdes with pernil (pork). The food was very good, but I don’t think it is a great thing when I am questioning whether my pork was in fact chicken.

Best tocos hands down I’ve eaten here since a lil boy and i still cant find anything that taste better.

Their tacos aren’t the best seasoned. They rely on toppings and condiments to give the taco flavor which is why it gets a 3 star. Aside from that, they do stuff their tacos and everything else with as much neat as they possibly can. They don’t skimp.
So if its quantity you want, come here. If its quality and flavor… Maybe another place is better.

Great tacos

Jalisco Tacos has all the makings off a great Mexican antojitos restaurant, except one. It has the small, humble stature, the friendly staff, the limited and concentrated menu. But what it lacks, unfortunately, is the exceptional ingredients, at least for more interesting items like tongue and tripe.
Other diners came in ordering chicken and pork and beef, nothing too irregular, and I advise to follow their lead. Their large and overstuffed tacos ($ 2.75 each) are a good deal for the amount you get. The lengua is filled with large chunks, but they are below average and strangely all the tacos come topped with shredded American. He asked me if I wanted yellow or white cheese and was sad I picked white since it had already been applied. The queso blanco that covered it only slightly reduced this oddity. Also unexceptional was the tripa, but I do think any chorizo, bistek, or pollo taco would be better.
Luckily there was a nice carne enchilada on the tostada ($ 2.75) I ordered, which was much more enjoyable. Also topped with fresh tomatoes and a delicious cream, the tostada was nice, even if the shell was a bit stale.
East 138^th Street in Mott Haven is spotted with small Mexican groceries and a couple places to eat. It will be worth investigating further.
