Best pizza in the neighborhood, of course. I live close and I dont go an afternoon without the amazing smell of Louie and Ernies’ pizza lingering around the block. I could live off of the broc rabe calzone.

Big Fan There’s something about an old school pizza parlor. Especially when they make an almost iconic version of a product in your specific neighborhood. What I mean by this is that Louie and Ernie’s is a legend in The Bronx and the pizza does the talking. L&E makes a cross between a super thin crust pizza and your typical NY folded slice. We ordered 2 pizzas because I am not in The Bronx very often. You have to order a sausage, it’s a staple. We also ordered a roni black olive. Both pizzas were top notch. There is a reason why Unilocal,TA, and Facebook give this place an average of 4.5 stars. If I could give the place 4.5 stars I would. Can’t do a 5, that’s reserved for Totonno’s. Love Louie and Ernie’s Thanks

The. BEST. pizza ever. I order from here at least once every two weeks, sometimes even once a week. I love how thin the crust is and how it always tastes the same. The consistence is always there. It’s never too much cheese, never too much sauce and I LOVE the oregano that they put on the top, it makes it all come together.

Honestly my ultimate favorite pizza spot in the Bronx! The friendly atmosphere explains why they’ve been open for such a long time. Always willing to support family owned businesses.

Always been a big fan but my only issue is that the slices are a bit on the smaller side. If you want to discount that, it is most certainly worth the visit.

The pizza taste good, but the slices are very small. I imagine it would take more slices to satisfy ones craving. The guy who served me was nice, but the guy who was making the pizza was kinda of short to me when I asked a question. I ventured out to a part of the Bronx where there aren’t many people who look like me, and to be honest I couldn’t help but feel a little awkward. Nonetheless, the pizza was good but the crust was a bit thin to my liking. All and all I’m Not sure if I would come so far again for pizza, but Perhaps I would order ahead and take it to go.

We happened to be in the area and so checked this place out that I had bookmarked! I ordered 1 sausage slice and 1 sicilian slice. I loved the sausage slice, the meat was really tasty and perfectly seasoned and they do not skimp on the toppings, you get loads of meat! I enjoyed the sicilian slice, but I wasn’t a huge fan of the crust/base. Sausage is definitely the way to go! While we were there the tables were full and there was a constant stream of people ordering pies to go, which is always a good sign. I would return if I’m in the area again, it is about a 15 minute walk from the subway, so not the most connected place, but it’s good!

Five stars! I have been eating at Louie and Ernie’s for as long as I can remember. I’ll starve myself during the day so I can eat as much as possible in one sitting. Great crust, sauce, and service. It’s always a bummer when they are closed one week during the summer.

I have been to quite a few great pizzerias, living in the bronx my entire life, and this place is hands down my absolute favorite. They are not heave on the dough, the sauce and cheese are well seasoned and each slice melts in your mouth. Their plain slice is so good and perfectly thin that i can easily eat 5 – 6 slices in one sitting. Their sausage pizza is made with fresh sausage chunks, rather than frozen sausage slices. I recommend grabbing a few slices with a manhattan special or a grape soda. If i ever leave this neighborhood, i would return just for their pizza.

The sausage pie is really good. I prefer Queens-style pizza(thin crust) and this place makes pizza more like Queens-style than Bronx-style. They don’t deliver so I drive 20 minutes to pick up two large sausage pies whenever I can. My limit is normally 2 slices, but I can eat 4 slices of their pizza and not feel gross afterwards. Aside from Frank Pepe’s pizza in New Haven, this place is my second best.

I come here whenever I’m in the Bronx. My dad grew up near Louie & Ernie’s so that’s how I know about it. Pizza is amazing. Calzones are yummy. Wish it was closer! So delicious

The thin, crispy crust. The sausage. Divine. I usually go with the regular slice w/sausage and always enjoyed it but I got the white slice w/sausage last visit and was blown away. If you don’t leave as soon as you’re done with your first slice you’ll succumb to your taste buds and order another. It’s that good.

Louie and ernies is a landmark in the Bronx. There is something magic about this place. It is worth a visit just to sit down in the back and eat. Everyone likes its atmosphere and the pizza is good.

II came here after seeing that this place is one of America’s top pizzerias. The place was not packed nor was it really busy. Order the signature small pie with sausage. I definitely had better. It was a thin crust pie with corn meal powdery texture on the bottom. Nothing special but would have come here again if it was not for the rude behavior of one of their workers. The few people sitting down eating were enjoying a football game when the Mexican guy from their kitchen came out sat at one of the table and took the remote control to change the channel because he didn’t like American football. The counter person grabbed the remote control from him and they went at it for a while — how uncomfortable this was. With that experience who knows what happening in the kitchen, I do not know how this place got such high ratings

That’s good pizza. Not soggy. That part is awesome. The sausage is divine. The sauce is perfectly tart. Mushrooms are canned but that’s ok. I’d expect different at a white table cloth.

Pizza PERFECTION. Calzones are damn good, too. Won awards from Daily News, well deserved. Parking can be iffy, depending upon the time of day. Nice, thin crust. Enjoy!

Earlier reviews had it right. Delicious pizza. Biggest attractions: Cozy old family-style place seemingly built into someone’s basement in a residential neighborhood, the cheese blend is on point, and that crust, Ohhh that crunch! Sausage was very tasty, mushrooms were not my favorite but still appetizing. All washed down with an ice cold Stewart’s rootbeer.

Heard about this place on the Johnny T’s skit on YouTube. Talking about the best places to get a good slice in the five boroughs. Lives up to reputation and expectation. A real honest neighborhood pizzeria. Delicious.

If it were«Bert & Ernie’s Pizza» then the employees would just be puppets of the owner, and the customers would all be a bunch of muppets, and would be pigging out like Miss Piggy on crack, eating the best slice in The Bronx, and then another, and another… and the owners Bert & Ernie would be gay, whereas Louie & Ernie are not. Wait, what’s that you said? Louie & Ernie are gay? Well then I am sorry for my mistake. I was just trying to be funny. I didn’t know they were gay. No wonder their sausages taste so good in my mouth. Yumm. Anyway back to the slice. Getting a little hot in here. This is my fave pizza slice in The Bronx and one of my fave slices in all of NYC. Definitely top 10, possibly even top 5. There’s a reason I’ve been here every time I’ve been to The Bronx lately. What to get: Slice with sausage What else: I’m free tonight if you’d like to hang out at a by-the-hour motel This is my first ever NYC review. In the coming weeks I’ll be doing hundreds of them… possibly even dozens of them… so Louie & Ernie’s should feel very very special. Okay, I’m sure they don’t feel remotely special that my first NYC review is for them, but they should feel special because they have the bessssssssssssssssssssst slice in the Bronx, and more than that, they have one of the top 10 slices in all of New York City! And I’ve tried hundreds of them! I may have even tried dozens! It’s a little unassuming place on a suburban corner way up in the Eastern part of the Bronx. It’s hard to get to if you’re doing a «Manhattan/Queens/Brooklyn» food tour like I am, but it’s well worth it. Seriously, if you haven’t tried this slice, make the pilgrimage all the way out here and give it a try. It really is that damn good. I tell thee. That’s a Yorkshire expression, by the way. Style-wise, it’s typical NYC. It’s very thin, with a light layer of delicious sauce and cheese. It has a crunch. It has perfect, slightly-burned crisp dough. The sausage just makes me come… back for more. The amazing fresh deli sausage they use on here is incomparable. It’s probably the most delicious sausage(pizza) I’ve ever had in my mouth. I love when the hot sausage juice squirts right down my throat. So damn good. Get to Louie & Ernie’s and give them a try. Pretend you’re Bert from Sesame St and just take Ernie’s sausage and swallow every last bit.
