Excellent authentic Mexican food! The restaurant was very clean and the service was friendly. I ordered the ‘home made’ chicken quesadilla and it was freshly prepared and delicious. I also ordered a couple of sandwiches for take out and my family enjoyed them.

My husband and I order from here fairly often and this is one of the few places you don’t easily grow tired of eating. Very fresh food. We have actually never had a bad experience with them — consistent. Definitely try any of the tacos fully loaded. Everything is really good. We have never ate in their restaurant, only ordered pick-up or delivery. Definitely give them a try!

Meh. I had the spicy chicken soup. The soup was watery, the chicken kinda gummy like it hadn’t been cooked all the way.

Who do they pay to have 4 star’s? I feel I’m misleading future customers by giving one star. I have tried this place 4 different times, each time I get excited that«oh it will be better» wrong again! Every thing I have tried has been dry, no taste I’m not even sure you can call there meat, meat as it has some weird texture, dry, tasteless. My dog wouldn’t even eat the chicken or the steak as I always give her a piece, of my food that should have been my first sign when I saw her spit it on the ground, this is a dog who will eat anything out of a trash can! Not this though! Save yourself the disappointment go elsewhere.

Their food is awesome but don’t bother ordering as apparently they don’t know the area around them. Tried ordering and they didn’t know the address that was right around the corner once…

Good burritos! I’m not too fond of how they put so much lettuce in them, but I asked them to hold the lettuce, and it was great. I’ve been here a few times, and would come back again.

small lil hole in the wall joint but very clean so no worries guys. I came here w. recommendation from Unilocal and a friend looking for a mexican food fix. Ok this is pure mexican food authentic not tex mex or commercialized entrees so no chimichangas here folks. I went with a personal general fav dish of mine the ranchero steak(in spicy sauce). It was alright. I have had this dish all over texas so my expectations are high wherever I order it. The meat was a bit too soft for my liking and the seasoning while spicy was nothing to savor in all honesty. Not to say it disappointed me or it was terrible(I did finish it without effort) but not the best I’ve had but hell I’ve been to some amazing establishments who prepare this dish. If you’re in the area give em a shot and try out the menu. It’s not a bad spot at all but then again its not a memorable one either. Cheers

What a great find in the bronx. This place is a hidden gem. Ive been here twice so far and the food was good both times. They give great portions and it all tastes delicious. The al pastor burrito is a good pick and so is the burrito bowl. They don’t skimp out on you with any of the ingredients. This places beats eating mexican food out in the city taste and price wise.

Good hole-in-the-wall lunch place. While the food doesn’t blow you away, it’s pretty solid for the area. The service is relatively quick too, as you can run in to order a burrito and be out within fifteen minutes. The burritos here are kinda huge, they’re like the size of your arm! And nothing better than drowning them in the rainbow of salsas they give you. Destination? Nahhh. Good place for lunch? Yes.

This is a famous place around my work, and a lot of people stop by when having time. I tried fish taco, al pastor and carne asada taco. They were all very good and the portion was humongous. Their burrito was really good too according to our colleagues. Definitely a great joint for a quick mexican fix.

Summary: if you are looking for mexican food around Montefiore hospital and are absolutely starving, sure go ahead. Otherwise mediocre food with a hefty pricetag. Good: friendly, clean, has local customers. Bad: very expensive !!!, mediocre food(will satisfy your bean and rice cravings, not your mexican food craving) Referred by colleagues from local hospital while looking for something different than standard repertoire of chicken, rice beans in area. Friendly on phone and in person although they had no clue what a shredded beef burrito is(must be a Cali thing) Ordered 2 burritos &1 chicken quesadilla. Price 25 $. Burritos are 80% rice, beans 10% lettuce tomatoes, 10% average quality meat(for 7 $). Quesadilla was delicious but 9 $ REALLY! It’s Mexican and we are in the Bronx. Anyway would definitely give them 2 possibly 3 stars but due to the obvious ‘friend/family’ 5 star reviews it needs a little honesty in summary.

La comida no es mala pero si creo que es algo caro para la porcion que dan. Aparte de que quieren cobrar 3 o 4 dolares por un poquito de cebolla, tomate, o cualquier otra cosa que le agreguen al platillo.

Yum! I went to this place quite a few times over a few weeks while working at the hospital. Don’t be fooled by the outside appearance-it is definitely a hole in the wall and essentially a bodega in the front half. But it really is comfortable and a great place to eat. It was great for lunch– always had a seat, the waitress was extremely nice, made it back to work on time and the food was always fresh and good! My go-to meal was the shrimp quesadilla. I usually got the one that includes rice and beans(more food!). They always bring chips and salsa to start –also yummy! If I’m ever back in the area I would definitely go back!

My love for Mexican food is vastly growing and this might be my new hole in the wall restaurant. The establishment was empty as soon as I walked in, so I was immediately greeted by the employee. The menu has a large variety of foods, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I was in the mood for something satisfying so I went for a chicken burrito. It was priced at $ 7() and once it came out I was impressedMy with the size(worth more than $ 7). It didn’t have too much seasoning but had enough ingredients. I wasn’t able to finish it due to the size but that’s never a bad thing. If you are in a rush and need something to fill you up then I totally recommend this restaurant! Also they have a little grocery section on the front as you exit and they carry all type of authentic Mexican sweets and snacks.

I was hopeful that this little nook was going to blow me away and it was only just ok. The convenience of this spot is ideal. It’s right off the 4 train. There is a little park right out front of the restaurant where my sister and I tried to play Frisbee while we waited. I say try because the amount of dog poo was too much to maneuver around. We got the food to go and my mouth was salivating by the time we got home. I couldn’t wait to dive into the huevos rancheros. I was mostly disappointed. My sisters ordered burritos which they both claimed was mediocre. I would be willing to try this place again because they have potential. I might dine in instead to see if the food is better when it doesn’t have to travel.

Really really happy with my decision to come here. Definitely a hole in the wall place, but serves up some fresh, flavorful Mexican food that hits the spot. I ordered a bistec taco and a carne enchilada(pork) taco. The meat was really tender and well-seasoned and the toppings were fresh! I got some avocado on them too(recommended) Great prices, good food, friendly service; solid lunch place– will be coming back.

Been here a bunch of times, late on this review. Between the prices and portions, this spot will have you walking out of there with a full belly and wallet. Burritos take up most of the big oval plate it’s served on, while the«three tacos» dish overflows with the meat or veggies of your choice. Salsas are fresh and will have your eyes watery… which is how it should be! Service is excellent and attentive, so you won’t be late for any appointment(s) afterwards. All in the comfort and coziness of a «hole-in-the-wall» classic Bronx setting.
